Double Gemini, here, you hit it on the head. I am 72 yrs. old and 2 years ago I lost everything I owned. I looked at it as a new journey. I did suffer horribly but am a woman of great faith. I lived through a terrible storm with 4 animals. After the water went down, from about 3 feet of fishbowl water, I found a prayer card while cleaning out the muck. It was sent by God by the sea. It stated it on the card! How can I not have faith!! Thank you for your uplifting words of wisdom.

So motivational! Thanks Chris! When you have a bad/negative thought, or any thought that keeps drawing you back to something from which you are trying to break free, the stop/switch technique, just like Chris describes, is so helpful. You can literally say aloud to yourself STOP! Then switch to another thought or activity. Something that moves you forward...make a list ahead of time if that helps.
Two quotes came to mind when watching this. 1. "Action is the antidote to despair" - Joan Baez - and 2. “In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety.” ― Abraham Maslow ~ If anyone isn't familiar with that name, check out Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Very interesting. I just came across that quote a couple of days ago and am choosing to step forward into growth. Sometimes scary, but necessary.
