- Trim removal can sometimes be problematic - after all, you don’t want to damage any clips or bend the plastic pieces. Recently, we came across one of the trickier elements to remove: the BMW G20 shifter trim. Since we always want to make the job easier for you, we created this video. Can you please show us how to clean the buttons? Mines are sort of sticky. Also my traction control button is not working anymore. It won’t turn off when I press the button. But it’ll turn on/off when I press my 360 camera button or my auto start/stop button. If you can help me that’ll be greatly appreciated Bimmertech!
Hey there! For cleaning the buttons you can go with some very delicate cleaning liquid and just wipe it up. If it doesn't work, try something soft, but pointy (like a toothpick). As for the other issues - it might be some software issues, so we recommend giving a visit to your BMW service.

It is just as easy to change on the BMW X3 g01 2020, they are for sale on the internet but I don't see any video on how to change?

On my g20 the handbrake doesnt turn on, when i pull the lever up it doesnt make the sound click that it should, but when i put it down to release the brakes it works. And it makes the sound click that it should. At the dealership they say that i have to buy the whole shift console that costs 1000 €.
Is it possible just to change the handbrake? I found some used shift console for 200 €, but at bmw they say it wont work because it cant be programmed..
What do you think? Can i buy the used one and take just the handbrake part out and put it in mine? Or can i buy the used whole console and replace it with mine would it work?
Maybe you should find a mechanic that knows a lot about BMWs - he should tell u if it's possible or not. Cheers!
