Shows like this are when I truly wish I learnt/understood the language. With all due respect to the translators, I feel like the subtitles don't do enough justice? 😭😭😭
As a translator myself, subtitles go through a process and quality checking. It follows certain guidelines depending on the platform before they are submitted. Quoting Bong Joon-ho, "Once you overcome the one-inch tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films." Sure, there are still certain nuances that you can understand better if you understand the language, but not being able to understand the language itself (Japanese, Korean, Thai, etc) doesn't take much away from appreciating creative work of a different language. Besides, learning a new language is better done by practice, you learn better by using it daily to communicate.
Kenshi Yonezu's voice is so perfect for this. I mean I haven't heard any bad song from Kenshi Yonezu, he's one of the best Japanese musicians. I'd love to watch him perform live. Kenshi's voice accompanying Kentaro & Kasumi's scenes = absolute perfection.
I was beyond surprised when I saw Toma Ikuta’s face like what!????? The last time I saw that handsomeness was from Hana Kimi and that was ages ago. I’m so stoked for this series. November, please come faster please 😭
That's also the last time I saw Toma, from Hana Kimi, which is long ago. He doesn't seem to have changed at all. One tiny bit of trivia, Kentaro also worked with Toma's wife, Nana Seino, in a 2021 drama titled Only Just Married.
Woah, new trailer! 🥳😍 Gosh, the cinematography is top notch, and it's really nice to see Kentaro and Kasumi together again with the addition of Toma Ikuta who I haven't seen in such a long time. Kentaro is surely keeping up his streak from last year with back-to-back dramas to this year with last February's The Parades, his beautiful Korean drama What Comes After Love with Lee Se-young and now this breathtaking series. 🫶🥹🥳😍👏 Anyone who hasn't watched a Japanese movie or a drama series is seriously missing out on a whole lot.
recently watched the Last 10 Years and realized the male lead was the same person. that movie KILLED ME and i was crying for days straight, and this movie seems like it will have the same effect !! i got a love-hate relationship with bittersweet movies lol
I definitely plan on watching Beyond Goodbye. I remember Tomas from the documentary Sing, Dance, Act: Kabuki, and Kentaro Sakaguchi from The Parades (easily my favorite Netflix film I have watched this year). This series looks so good. Really love the films/shows coming out of Japan in the past 2 years.
Iam watching kentaro what comes after love and back then when i started research on this actor i also found he has upcoming japenese drama announced beyond goodbye coming to netflix then i was waiting for his both dramas - AND KNOW HIS ONE DRAMA IS PREMIREING AND beyond goodbye trailer released in same month
I watch a lot of Japanese and South Korean dramas and nearly all are done to incredibly high production values with excellent performances from the cast. I wish the UK put in as much effort. Give it a try, you may well be very pleasantly surprised 😀👍.
I can't wait for this jdrama to come out because I believe it will be a masterpiece, especially when I see Kentaro Sakaguchi and Toma Ikuta in the cast 😍 and I hope I won't cry a lot like with the last jdramas/movies I've watched because the trailer already looks so beautiful and sad 🥲
This is going to be so complicated and messy because according to this trailer apparently the main lead is a married man???? 😭 I’m afraid this series is gonna break us all
Can the characters in JDrama please be healthy and alive for once?
😂😂😂😂
Ikr every time sad ending.
LMAO😅😂
And not so depressing either
For real .most romance ends in death
Mr Kentaro is busy!! Got a HIT Korean/Japanese drama 'What Comes After Love" on Viki and now this coming out right after its done, on NF!🤩🤩
Yes he is!!!
Shows like this are when I truly wish I learnt/understood the language. With all due respect to the translators, I feel like the subtitles don't do enough justice? 😭😭😭
The subtitles are accurate. I don't think you're missing out on anything
