Alex will always be one of my all time favorite vocalist. Not just because he slays at vocals but because he is a really chill fuckin dude! and is just a genuine badass guy. My buddy's and I shared the stage with chelsea grin in 2012 in a band called Assyria. And he was more than cool with us we were all star struck haha!
Yo! Assyria was such a sick fucking band! You guys were kick ass live, I heard of the band thanks to seeing them live with CG.

I'm so glad I got to see this lineup before everybody left. Tom is by far better vocally, but seeing all of them up there in person was damn cool. I got to meet Jake when he was running merch for them at a show in San Diego a little bit after he left though so that was cool!
Vocals in this video definitely don't do Alex's live performance justice. He definitely sounds 100% better than he does in this recording. He absolutely destroyed on the Desolation Of Eden tour.

All I initially heard from Alex was, "WHYYYYYYY AM I STILL SCREAMING THIS FUCKING SONG *INAUDIBLE* CIRCLE PIT"
Saw them live a few months after this took place on the Chaos tour and they were absolutely firing on all cylinders, Sounded like the recording. Long live the big three all on the same show, went down in history.

Tom is literally 10x better than Alex, while I would preferred him to stay in LS, Alex is horrendously inconsistent live.
Tom can literally mimic Recreant era CG perfectly, his voice doesnt fit aswell on the other albums but hes still way better than alex lmao. I hardly cared for CGs recent but like, other than the fact Tom didnt write those albums and cant do all those styles (lets be real neither can Alex lmao) theres no downside to Tom.

It looks like he switched guitars most likely due to a technical issue. At one point you can hear one of the guitars cut out. I assume it’s due to the pink guitar having an issue and he switched to a backup.
At 1:05 the guitar cuts out and you see him walk right to get a diff guitar, luckily this was back when they had 3 guitarists and a bassist so it didnt effect too much.
And I rewatched it just to find the part lmao, the audio in your right headphone will cut out a bit when his guitar stops working.

Saw these guys when warped stopped in Cincinnati, and Alex sounded pretty good. He's probably just exhausted from the heat, because he was at the merch tent all day at my date. I met him, such a nice guy :)

@@TheWicked1999 cupping a mic does nothing...I've been a vocalist over 20 years...it all depends on what synths or settings you are using between mic and speaker's...cupping can give a more bass tone, but that is it...if you have a mid range pick up, cupping will help the crystal to pic up the lower tones...do you even know how a mic works? or what a crystal is doing in the pick up?
Honestly,sometimes cupping a mic makes ur vocals sounds better and nicer to listen to.

Alex has some rough days. He's not gonna be 100% everyday for 2 months in 95 degree heat. Because he did shitty in a live song they put up doesn't mean he's "shit" . Go listen to their desolation of Eden tour. Oh and the "backtracking" is Pablo their drummer. I love how kids complain about this type of stuff. When vocalists like Ronnie or Fronz who don't know what they are doing lead some of these tours are godly to them. Like know what you're talking about before you comment. You can have a good opinion behind a screen. Go to tours. Get an actual opinion that you can backup. And then waste our time with it.
This was filmed on the second or third day of warped tour. Not only that but it rained on the day this was filmed. The heat was nonexistent. If anything, the rain would've helped moisten his chords. But yeah lol I kind of agree with the rest of what you said. Last time I saw them which wasn't too long ago, Alex was almost spot on. Although I think most of the people ripping on him don't listen to stuff like Falling In Reverse or Attila.

I saw there and I met Alex after their set and I told him his tunnel fell out midset and he was so sad because these were his favorite tunnels. 😂

This being highly evident seeing all the negative vocal comments saying things like "Alex is done, very weak vocals" or "CG needs another vocalist" since they obviously dont realize the immense toll spent over the last 8 years w/ non-stop world wide touring, shooting music videos, recording new material (studio time), CD release events, not to mention trying to squeeze what personal family time possible before its time to rinse & repeat.
It didn't help that Alex used to inhale his gutturals when they first started too

U can call the vocals shit but when your doing false chord vocals all the time it takes a toll. and there not even bad at all he's just running out of air pretty fast. and for those who say he's not a good deathcore vocalist? he has been doing this for YEARS now and most old school deathcore bands vocals are gone but not his, he can still do them and plus his vocals sound exactly like on the album just without breath control, and that is because of all the shows
Raging banana They're not false chords, just highs. And he inhales for his screams, that's why he can't hold them for long and the kinda sound distorted. They're drummer actually does a lot of the screaming on the album's, primarily the gutterals.

I've seen them once with Alex and twice with Tom now, a couple nights ago actually. Tom is a beast but now that Pablo isn't touring with them either it's just that much more different now :/
