@JourneyofShadows That was intentional from the beginning with them, and Resident Evil 5 (The video game, mind you) was a huge inspiration for a majority of the film, but everyone here already knows that. When it was stated that Sienna Guillory was reprising her role as Jill had to be as protagonist, or antagonist, in this case, well...anyone who's seen the film knows which way they went, won't spoil it for the rest of the party people.

Yeah I was pissed about the direction the movies went also, but doesn't mean that I don't enjoy them. They're entertaining, but heartbreaking. I know he went his OWN direction with them, but we all wanted to see CHRIS/JILL/BARRY & WESKER! But shit.. life is full of disappointments!
Also: Blah, blah, blah no one on here has enough money to make a good movie about Resident Evil so stop bickering about it. GEEZUS!

I feel Alice killed the movie series for me. Her character was just such a cliche. The whole idea of Resident Evil is Survival Horror, not a super powered Bio-Weapon bent on revenge while Humanity surviving is thrown in as an After-thought. I'm not bashing the film, meerly stating I believe Hollywood butchered the True Resident Evil for most fans. Mila Jovovich is a hell of an actress, but I hated her role in this series to the core. Kinda wish a Director would STICK to a written story for once.
