- Me carving one of my largest more elaborate products in my Factory's Range, a Greenstone Blade is attached later after dipping and finishing, Available in only the best Tourist Shops Nationwide
Chisels I use (shown @ 9:20) are a small laid-back "'v", used for the main part of the vid, a Pakiti (as I have been taught) flat "V", a half round and a flat chisel
edit : because some people are helpful I have been told "Pakiti" inst a thing, the style of the triangles is 'Tara-tara-a-kai' for abundance of food
I am in awe of the precision and your speed while carving. Can you show the preparation of the timber before you finish with carving.
Attention to detail is the most rewarding part when carving in my opinion. The speed it’s done at will show in the results.
Wow let the roasting begin aye. An old master said $20 in your pocket is better than $300 sitting on the shelf for years on end.
control is everyting" not in life but works here, fullas say its easy" yer bro
yer had a shandy, why id never be good carver" im way slow"
for tourists, by tourists. Pokokohua!
don't delete this bro, all these purists crack me up. Ive seen some of the most beautiful worked done quick on an arbortek without a single chisel, just look at the massive Pou at Pataka in wellington by Darcy Nicolas, a world renowned successful artist. your work is alll good! if you wanna be quick and work on that, only you can decide.
Machine made then carved...easy to tell...Rotorua shop carvings styles made to sell.
Chur chur nice alright brada
Hey Bro, I loved your carving skills!! Is there anywhere that i can learn that in Aus?
+Jarrod Walsh to a trained eye it aint that great, all on the job, never been properly taught, but thanks we do produce some neat stuff

+Nick Whitley Radiata Pine
I don't know how you can sell those. I'm a carver my self and I'd be ashamed to put something like that out there
+Eru Tukaki which is why every now and then I think about removing this (and other videos) I don't pretend to be a Master in any way, I have probably learnt more from the comments on my vids than I was ever taught, or not taught as I am finding out, being able to hit a nail doesn't make me a builder
here here me to mate .

Molded first with a machine then surface(whakarea) design ,
+Ropata Turner yes exactly, thankyou and well spotted, I know I am not a 'master carver' and get really embarrassed when people try to call me that, I knew there had to be a name for the 'style' of carving but being taught "in house" much of what I think I know is wrong or "not quite right" (was told Taratara a Kai was called Pakiti for example
Beware , some teachers are not Tohunga whakairo , and teach wrongly ,Tika is our way .Tapu for them to do so , ego is their weakness . arohanui bro .
Your the guy making this rubbish🤣🤣🤣
I haven't laughed this much in ages bro cheers🤣🤣🤣🤣
Your work seemed rush. slow it down. if youre not willing to make a proper effort dont bother.
