- www.sonicreality.com Here is a great example of how Ken Scott's upcoming DrummerTracks backing track groove collection or the loops of EpiK DrumS - A Ken Scott Collection can be used creatively. James Euringer (Jimmy Urine) of the band Mindless Self Indulgence (MSI) takes you on a trip "lifting" grooves from the full drum tracks of Woody Woodmansey - drummer from the original David Bowie's Spider's From Mars - and making an MSI track with it! One of many ways you can use these timeless grooves in many styles of music. You can listen to the mp3 on this page: www.sonicreality.com/jimmy-uri...
regardless of what this man has done and is blamed for in the press he is actually a creative genius. this is proof of that. long live Jimmy and MSI.
this is a nasty comment lol. he's not blamed for anything he's just a POS. yes he is an artistic genius but also a sick person. long live jimmy and msi is the last thing u should say and is totally nasty.
jimmy is a god
@@maggotemmaNah, long live Jimmy and MSI
I get where you're coming from, but no. Haha.
Edit: But on a more serious note, it is good to remember that we don't really know how true the allegations are, and even if they are, he's a completely different person than he was in '97-'99 in that regard. If true, was it wrong? Of course. Is it the kinda thing where he should absolutely be considered an irredeemable POS for all time? I don't (necessarily) think so, in his case
@@slipknotboy555 no he’s known to be a nasty creep
i fucking love him idc what other people say
rare footage of jimmy in his natural habitat
this was actually extremely helpful in figuring out how to get the MSI guitar sound
Jimmy looks adorable! I wanna give him a hug :D

We're coming out with the $50 DrummerTracks version of EpiK DrumS that features the grooves Jimmy is using. The deluxe EpiK DrumS A Ken Scott Collection is 130 GBs and $750 but not for everyone. The mp3 is something we're going to make available a little easier. It IS actually on that SR page but it is a flash mp3 player. Works but perhaps not for everyone. We'll post the mp3 so you can download it.
Jimmy is so yummy, also the drum tracks

im still here in 2023
omg is he wearing a tour crush hoodie? nice!!
that was pretty damn cool
Great Job!
@SuperGuitarman69
Why is it offensive? You're offended by people making music in other ways than strumming a guitar on plunking down some piano keys? You have no reign over what is musicianship. Someone can make a song with samples of other records and plugins that sounds better than something you write with your band. Look at Trent Reznor, he's a musical genius, and you'd be stupid to disagree. You think he'd ever have gotten ANYWHERE being that close minded? No.
@xhilr8d The description now has a direct link to where the mp3 audio is. It is on the sonic reality (dot) com web site.
the page for the mp3 got 404'd :(
ua-cam.com/video/sCV0n4Pns10/v-deo.html "Jimmy Urine's Ken Scott Drummer Tracks demo.mpg"
Woah. I waited to long to watch this.
It was 9 years in my "watch later" list and I feel enlightened by now xD
9 years to late...
Sampling David Bowie! yea
@PizzaInChicago The way Jimmy did it is advanced cutting up the grooves but the "DrummerTracks" version is as easy at it gets... you just play along with guitar or whatever instrument you play. It's full song length grooves.
awesome!!!! jimmy rocks xD
Too bad I can't find the final mp3 anywhere...
@IDontDoDrumCovers hes using notator for atari st2. Its basically a sequencer like garageband. except in black n white...
2:28 if that ain't msi as fuck i dunno what is.
badass
can't download the full track on msi's myspace, has someone else the same problem? Can someone upload it somewhere, please?
Does Jimmy have a serperate alias that he uses to release his drumnbass tracks?
:( the page isnt there any more
@mindphlux i've tried, but it doesn't seem to be working, it says "404 Not Found"
where is the full tack. please give a link to that
That owl fukin rules😂
@SuperGuitarman69
Basically all i'm saying sir, if you appreciate music, appreciate anyone who's excercising a passion for music, no matter what it is.
the mp3 is unavailable
what programs is he using?
How did you scratch wjth the pitch bend?
He loaded a sample of a scratch sound, triggered it with the midi keyboard and manipulated it with the pitch wheel. #magpiepirates
does anyone know how tf hes samplinh through a microkorg??
At 1:23, what is the exact type of cartridge did he use for the SNES?
Probably something similar to a chipmaestro, which connects MIDI to NES.
@@pilchardpliskin9381 thank you so much!! This brought me down a rabbit hole of learning!
@EKsqueezeME
it looks like a tracker, like famtracker or renoise.
It's "Notator" for the Atari ST.
lol this just blew my mind in 2019
@Bunechunk I have done plenty with samples and drum machines. It sounds cool and I never have to book a session to have real players lay anything down. It is nice. So I know what that is. But I am under no illusion that I am doing anything in the moment that cannot be done by a 16 year old that I could show the ropes to in a week or so. But when I'm out performing or recording my "Chick Corea" style pieces? I have to have amazing players. That I cannot show a 16 year old in 2 weeks.
ain't got nothin on wesley willis
@Bunechunk No protools is a recording device that captures and edits input from musical instruments. It has to have something played into it to edit. You can add sounds and even splice up some other stuff to add in production. But what you are trying to say is finding pre-recorded material and adding sounds and drum samples etc... is musicianship. It is not. It never has been and never will be. It isn't NOT making music. But it is not musicianship. You're trying to say it does is offensive
And this takes talent how? Why don't you just get a great drummer to create something new? Too much technoogy is allowing those who think guitar hero is an actual instrument to play at what I do for a living.
You ever tried setting any of this stuff up? Also Guitar Hero is an instrument, you just don't know how to use it like one ;)
