I´ve been learning Cisco Umbrella for the last couple of days and, this is so useful. But I´m still have 3 of questions: 1: for HA purposes, is it mandatory to install the scripts and the AD connector on two domain controllers? 2: If I have 2 VAs configured and if one of them suddenly stops working, do I just have to download, import the OVF on the hypervisor and configured it or do I have to apply something else on Umbrella dashboard? 3: So, on the connectivity status for AD Connector, is automatically changes to Active Status?

is it possible to not register AD Connector to umbrella cloud? instead can virtual appliance do those job and inform umbrella cloud about AD group info? i still dont understand why cisco doesnt combine VA and connector function together.
The AD Connector talks directly to the Umbrella cloud however it is not mandatory that the AD connector is used. It is not possible for the VA to do the job of the AD connector as they serve to different purposes.
