You could have easily moved the defenders off the rooftops. Or simply kill them at the start with a kill command to stop the problem before it starts. And Romans took the town, they won.
In a situation where the attackers are bugging, maybe change the defenders to attack. Tactically I would’ve thought those that survived the onslaught of the main battle would’ve attempted to back up their remaining teammates. The catapults/archers converging on the town might’ve helped save the defenders and wipe out the romans. Nice vid either way dude👍🏼 you help me get through my long night shifts 😂
I liked the music during the fast forward parts! I really like the concept of this battle! The Romans are a very strategic army I feel like they should get catapults and archers when they attack forces. The Persians were known for having a variety of super weak troops in the front and pockets of really strong allies from different parts of the Persian empire like trolls, crabs and army ducks 😜. I also think it would be cool if you buffed the Romans a little bit so you could have fewer troops but more Carnage. That would be a really cool storyline to follow! You could also do a storyline of the US army fighting off the zombie apocalypse. (Fyi) I really liked the buffed Spartans in passed videos!!!
Have a square of archers, surrounded by an octagon of knights, with the Spartan's attacking. I think this formation can also be adopted for the WW2 US army - tommy guns and shotgunners - vs 15 million zombies
That ending is such a bummer after one of the most intense battles ever. Maybe next time you can take over the few units left on the roof in fps mode and jump them off the roof to continue the battle think that is one way to solve it
Are there going to be any updates to this game? I'd love to see way more various units including navel units and aerial ones as well. Also, more fantasy and Scifi-esque ones would be cool.
Yeah there will be, it's in alpha 0.1.1 last I checked and have a roadmap for about when each update should be out. Iirc there should be one sometime in the next week or so.
In the beginning there, I got the feeling that a lot of the "kills" that the Persians supposedly scored, were more like accidental suicides of Roman going over the cliffs near the pyramids, in their haste to get to the Persians mustered below them. I couldn't find any other reason why the cliffs were painted red around there at the time. 😹😹😹
You would think the devs would at least check if the Persians are remotely close to what they were trying to replicate ( which in this case they were trying to replicate "the immortal army" or "the standing army" ) incase of power and weapons
they most likely just googled how a Persian foot soldier might have looked like and then purposely made them weak because the only thing they know about Persians is how thousands of them were stomped by 300 Spartans in the battle of Thermopylae not knowing that another 6k to 7k soldiers from other greek city states were also present and that although the Persians were indeed numericaly superior their numbers were exaggerated to make the final stand of Leónidas seem even more impressive than it actually was for propaganda purposes.

It's ultimate epic battle simulator, not hyper realistic battle simulator. You can't really complain about units being unrealistic when them facing 1 million free range chickens is a real possibility.
Melee units on hold are weaker than melee units on attack. For an example 10k persians on hold vs 10k persians on attack, the units on attack will win with 4k units remaining.
Weirdly, I have no trouble with glitching in the Troy city zone, in contrast to the Egypt map, where soldiers have managed to obtain immortality next to various boulders. Somehow.

The fact that Persians killed Romans and won in Battle of Carrhae while being outnumbered and having less equipment than Romans, Makes me feel disgusted watching Persians die in this game .
I know it isn't your normal fight, but could you do one or two million of one unit vs the same number of the same unit. Have them spread across a large map at a far enough distance that the units separate and it comes down to the topography of the map and luck. My suggestion would be something like Roman v Roman, Spartan v Spartan, Sherman v Sherman, or US Thompson vs US Thompson.
People in the comments are complaining about how boring it is when Daley does x unit vs y unit, this would make them cry lol I would still watch it though, if it wasn't too long.
In those attack vs defend games like this one i would like to see how around half-game you let the defending army go on the offensive too. Just to see what happens.
Could you do like a campaign kinda thing where like the persians invade the spartans on say the mount Olympus map and depending on who wins the map and number of soldiers changes and maybe a 3 way battle like Spartans vrs persians vrs Roman's in the campaign as well
where you messed up with this battle is you didn't put the Persians on attack so the ones on top of buildings don't jump down and the romans have a hard time getting some some of them.
Maybe when you attempted to move the Romans in the city to a different part of the battlefield you should have also removed their opponents and put them in the other battlefield that way the Romans would stop going back to the city.
Can you make video wherein you are 1 range sniper unit then you need to stay alive while 10,000 melee are defending you and then 100,000 melee units are going to attack you.
You really need to start taking into account just how powerful AoE attacks from things like catapults and tanks are, vs any infantry and scale the numbers correctly. That was about 1/3rd too many catapults in each location especially with their health. Romans probably would have pulled off a very narrow win, still
Given how close this battle was (30k vs 60k, when the starting numbers were near 2M), this is one of the most well balanced battle on this channel. You have to remember the archers work against their own team when the deflected arrows hit friendlies, and how trash the persians are.
I wonder how much of a cluster-f@ck it would have been if even just one, God-Catapult, had been mounted on a rooftop or near the centre of the town there overlooking the valley between the pyramids? 😂😂🤣

The Romans were defeated in lots of battles over hundreds of years and so were the Spartans. In some days the Romans lost tens of thousands of men in a single defeat against the 'barbarian' germans for example. Lots of things become exaggerated over the centuries.
can you do like a classic battle between 2 army like a huge Army composed of catapult archers against other army like both army attack each other and clash in the middle you know like old mediaeval battle.
I'm beginning to think that the only purpose of the Persians in this game is to paint the map red.

I was thinking the same (only 3 minutes in). The Roman shields are well known for deflecting, aka "dinking" arrows.

It's a bit annoying that rebounding arrows do damage. If an arrow pinged off a shield you'd be unlucky to be hurt by it.

I had always issues in the original game that i never managed to make the battles fair and balanced. One team was always superior.

If you highlight the other team that has the Persians and archers you can have them attack and then that should get them all off the building

Persians = Light Infantry
Romans = Heavy Infantry
Spartans = Elite Infiantry

Just use the God power and smite the archers on the buildings. Then they won't glitch at units they cannot attack.
Romans won, they took the city which was the goal and the Persians don't have any troops on the out skirts to take it back
