  • Think your jiu-jitsu could stop a gun? Would another combat sport serve you better in that moment? And what has to be on your mind when a weapon changes the game?
    In Round 3 of the John Wick finale at Triumph Fight Academy, things got real when a pistol entered the fight. Suits, grappling, and sudden violence-this was no ordinary match and we loved getting to be a part of it!
    Round 1: Pure grappling.
    Round 2: A blade enters the chat.
    Round 3: Pistol with blanks for the finish.
    It ended in a draw, and the gentleman's war was definitely unforgettable. @mlabellplus3 scored the blade kill @lukebaker_bjj landed the pistol kill. These two came to put in the work! Much respect!
    Weapons change the fight game, and we’re here for it. At A+R, we focus on refining the integration and application of every tool in defense of self and others. Huge love to our ‪‪@triumphfightacademy‬ fight family. The community, the people, the training-unmatched. You’re going to want to check them out.

      @@LK-dn2msit's kinda a stupid point to add new rules but still expect one person to fight fairly 😅. The moment the gun entered the arena knees and elbows would be applied. You can even see during the initial clinch that he could've just kneed him in the face. But I'm guessing you're not allowed to knee the guy with the gun or break his arm because that defeats the purpose of their little shit show

      The one thing I do have to say is in a street fight there's no rules that need to be followed and the guy holding the gun is going to be looking for a clear line of sight and I am honestly on the side of obviously Jiu-Jitsu is overhyped in the sense that if there's more than one person or the person has a gun or a knife you're done for but in this case if the one without the gun was able to like jab at eyes and like grab underneath the rib cage and things like that it could have went differently interesting things they can't do in the octagon it's not a proper comparison

    • @jacobgilland7026
      @jacobgilland7026 12 днів тому

      If you grab the wrist they will most likely still be able to rotate their hand. Tried it doesn't work. Best bet is to grab the arm holding the gun then grab the slide(with your other hand) closer to the hammer while continuously pressing your shoulder into his chest keeping him close. Now IMMEDIATELY once you have the three points of contact you need to rotate yourself facing the gun while locking his arm inside your arm. This gotta be done in 1 motion. Now if done correctly this should leave you facing the gun and him behind you. Hes definitely still holding on to that gun but you need to also still have a firm grip on that slide and arm. Now if you made it this far hopefully you are ok with breaking someones arm because if you are able to slide your hand off the gun to his wrist he won't be able to rotate his hand enough now that you're behind the gun. Now it's all down to you just being willing to accept the fact........ That your already fucking dead if you thought that reading some random ass comment on UA-cam would actually give you the ability to defend yourself in any kind of situation like that. Now get the hell off your damn phone and go do something about it.
