WHY THESE ARE GREAT BLOCKS: HE KEEPS PLAYING,KEEPING THE BALL IN PLAY AND GRABBING POSSESSION,NOT JUST SWATTING AND WATCHING IT GO OUT OF BOUNDS; LIKE THE BEST:BILL RUSSELL
I just stumble into this video looking for that block on Stojakovic. I remember being around 13 years old when I watched it live and it always stuck with me.
well, duncan doesnt get on highlight reels because his blocks dont look spectacular, i mean, hes timmy d, hes always flying under the radar, just working and being a nice guy. duncan is quite possibly the best PF of all time, i remember that one championship clinching game when he almost had a quadruple double, he had 8 blocks. you watch a spurs game and you think he had a bad game and than you look at his stats and he has 22 and 14 or sumtn like that.hes amazing
I may get hate for this but I think Duncan is only a better shot blocker than KG because people aren't as scared of him (he's slow compared to the athletic KG who has great hops, timing and hands) A more valid reason may be that he did more help defence taking him away from the paint and giving him fewer blcok opportunities.
@TheFlippinproduction I picked KG because he requires sooo much attention downlow that the centre will have to come over and help which will leave dwight open
@mumubear123 Well, I dont think you can call him a pure center either, he's played alongside Robinson, Mohammed, Thomas and Nesterovic, all of those are pure Centers, so Duncan is listed as a PF usually. He combines both worlds (low post and midrange jumper). He plays a lot like a Center, but he's been listed as a PF all of his career so you think the NBA is gonna induce him to the HOF as a C or a PF?
@Jacqueiche He only gets listed as a PF so he can start at the ASG. And like I've said before, Ewing and Olajuwon played more like PFs. Their mid-range game was better than Duncan's and Olajuwon also played next to Sampson. People just want to list him as PF so they can call him the GOAT PF. And Stern certainly doesn't mind the little extra hype.
@Jacqueiche Duncan's a center. He plays more like a center than Hakeem and Ewing so stop calling him a PF. He defends other centers and operates mainly in the post. Playing alongside Robinson for a while doesn't make him a PF.
@TorterraMaster99 so wrong. Give Dwill KG, Allen and Pierce and he'll make Rondo look like a bioch. Also KG isn't even in top 3 PF right now. Gasol smokes KG right now just look at the stats. Dirk will smoke KG right now also. Boozer better than KG. Look up the stats numbers don't lie. We're talking about TOP players on efficiency not top players who got far in the playoffs.
haha on #1 lebron should have just taken it himself. even if garnett blocked him the refs would have called a foul. #2 is like changing of the guard. although kg didn't do as much work in the post as hakeem he's the only big man to have replicated the dream shake.
@FrYLocK41 kg is way better then all those fools stats dont mean shit, there are so many aspects of the game that stats dont show, defense, leadership, effort, and how the player makes his teammates better and kg is much better in those catagories, and if you wanna talk stats kg averaged 29.9 minutes a game this year dirk averaged 37.5 pau averaged 37 and boozer averaged 34.3 so true numbers dont lie, you give kg minutes like those he be the same statistically as all of those guys
I love to watch KG because of his intensity on the court, amazing!
After Garnett blocked Olajuwon, the announcer said: "You may be seeing the birth of a superstar tonight." Damn right.

My fav lineup
Garnett grabbing the ball out of mid air instead of blocking his opponents was a thing of beauty. I don't ever recall anyone doing that.

Why? Duncan has a career blocks-per-game of 2.3, while KG's is 1.6 and Gasol is at 1.7.
the best one was #3, the game winning block.
omg the commment here comes minnesota was so epic

@007stonkin I'd replace LBJ with Melo there, but good lineup all the same
@garnetttribute thats tim duncam in the video lol
KG is better is TWolves days!!
stats are no way to compare a player coz KG is so much more than that
@fb0704 it was tim duncan ..
2:06 if you look closely Lebron traveled.. Yeah seriously he did
lol 1:11 the kings are arguing for goaltending - not sure the shot even got ABOVE the rim. hahah
Garnett leads all players in NBA All-Star balloting with 735,664 votes after the first returns. LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers is second.
0:59 OOOH, Sh*t outta here n**&@!!!
