I've really been looking forward to a roast dinner by the fire and you didn't disappoint many thanks and very well done James. Warmest regards Jawn in Cape town
I never thought I'd get so emotional watching a man I've never met sit next to the fire that he's worked so hard to get installed. I've binged watched up to this point and I'm not stopping now!
Mate , seriously , we’ve watched every episode, and this one hit home. Momentous in the narrowboat world . The safety , heat and sheer pleasure this fire will give you mate . Well done mate and congrats, so chuffed for you ! Well deserved .
Been a journey to this point but well done James, the Fire looks brilliant. You get warm 3 times with a log burner. Collecting wood, Cutting wood & finally burning wood.
"This week, oi will be mostly eatin'... in front of a firrre". Thats great James. Survival experts always say that fire adds morale as well as warmth and its certainly the case there. "A very fine house".
While watching the video, it brought a smile to my face. a warm fire and a hot meal, you deserve both for all the hardwork you have put in. That plate of food though was massive, with lashings of gravy. When I get back to England, I will have to nip in there for a plate of good old fashioned food. All the best, and keep well.
Just watched the long awaited stove lighting vlog - well that will take some beating. But then they're all excellent. Compulsive viewing . Thanks your dad for the great music too, as you said James '' very appropriate''.
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt I know what you mean! If you're tempted to offer it up to a large piece of metal, keep your fingers out of the way of the magnet head. It's bloody vicious.
Bravo James on completing the stove installation and to sit down to enjoy Sunday lunch with the glow and heat from the stove..😁👍...next thing would be to get a copper tea pot and make a brew heated from the hot plate on top of the stove....☕
Mate, yet another epic walk to camera, soon it we’ll be having to guess where you’re gonna pop out from. I really couldn’t be more pleased for you. Pats on the back all round. You totally deserve to have a night off. Really please it’s all worked out the way you wanted.
Can't tell you how lovely it was to watch this episode 😉 All your hard work and perseverance has paid off. So much more to look forward to ..congratulations from Vietnam 🇻🇳 👏
Evening James, A contented man, well done 👍 stove done, heat in the boat, and now everything else is just getting on with fitting out a big milestone achieved, enjoy your evening you deserve to relax sit back and go ahh
Well you made me cry. With that smile you had on your face and the absolutely Perfect music selection from your Dad, I was a bit overcome. I continue to relish your videos from our isolation here in Texas. Wish you continued success.
You’ve done it mate! You’ve cracked it! As for the beer, I feel Fire Water from Evil Twin Brewing is worth a try for when you light up proper, mind you, Deuchars IPA is an acceptable second James, or Mr Axe-man!! I feel a song coming on… He’s a lumberjack And he’s OK He sleeps all night and works all day (He's a lumberjack And he's OK He sleeps all night and he works all day) He cuts down trees Eats Linda’s lunch And goes to the lavatory On Wednesdays he goes to Screwfix And has buttered scones for tea. I’d better go now…. I won’t give up the day job.
Watching you eat your Sunday lunch, whilst tucked up in my bed at 23:05 hrs, makes me hungry even though I enjoyed roast chicken hrs ago. Also your looking very comfortable in front of the fire to end your day.
Amazing James, a log fire takes a lot of beating. Love your Dad's music. You may this, but make sure the wood you burn is dry, wet wood makes a tarry mess of the flue. So chuffed to see you face.!!
So excited to see that fire🎉🎉🎉🎉 great job. Can you please thank your Dad from me for the beautiful music. When all is done I can see you sitting there, with the beautiful fire.
Every time I see you wandering towards the camera at the beginning of the video I expect you to say "It's..." and then immediately hear the _Liberty Bell March._
Congratulations James on finally light the fire i am sat here watching your video with a big smile on my face feeling very happy for you. Love what you're doing good luck for the future friend.👍
Morning James. Can't believe I find you eating your lamb roast with your fire burning away in the background interesting lol 😂 But this is what your channel is all about showing everything your doing and not just the exciting bits. Really nice touch from your Dad playing some nice music for you in the background 👍🏻 Have a cosy night cheers Stevie 😎
Awwwww absolutely brilliant episode 😍 your fire looks amazing, your dinner looked very tasty and well done to your dad - great guitar 🎸 music. Happy days indeed!! Xxx
A fire really makes a home. I watched this clip with a huge smile for your fantastic achievement; well done. And your dad's music is great. Look forward to hearing more.
Hi James Super climax to the stove installation, after all your trials and tribulations. It is a truly successful story, well done. You deserve the good day you've had and we have enjoyed it too. (PJ)
Hi James, it must be an optical illusion, when I look at the stove the surrounding tiles make the stove look like it’s floating in mid air, if I’m the only one who comments this then I’ll get new glasses! Glad your stove is finally installed, not too late either with the weather!
The first fire sets the paint on the stove and metal work so there may be a funny smell also I would suggest getting a metal box with a lid for emptying the fire out as sometimes the cinders can start a fire long after you think they are burned out.
Congratulations. Another milestone on the way to getting afloat. I don’t think I’ve seen you more happy. You impress me, James. I don’t know what you do for a living, or what your trade is, but you are meticulous in your planning and execution for each task. It is a joy to see the boat coming together. I haven’t missed an episode. Looking forward to the finished boat, but, really enjoying the journey. Cheers
Hiya - thanks for your comments. It’s getting there one day at a time. I’m not in a trade as such, I work for a firm of surveyors in the city. It’s a suit and tie kinda thing rather than a pencil behind the ear kinda thing !!
3.2.1 we have ignition. Bloody lovely can’t beat a good 🔥 can you. Milestone day. See you got mince sauce for the lamb too, very prepared this week. Today must be such a good day for you, well done pal. Cheers.
Well done, James. Have you thought of using mirror screws to fix the stainless steel backing sheet? They have a chrome dome to cover the screw head and should complement the stainless steel and match the flue collar ring you have already fitted. Cheers Les
It's coming along knicely James, we have been enjoying your videos since before Christmas, we went back and watched some of your first ones, can't wait to see what it looks like when you are finished, fireplace looks very nice.. Please keep the videos coming, all the best to you and yours and God bless you.
Ready for some fun! Tightly wrap/stack the stove pipe with 1/2 in. copper tubing. Pipe water to it , going to radiaters, bow and stern. Use a automobile coolant tank and small recirculating pump. Hot water for heat or shower. Use a decorative diesel truck exhaust stack cover. Pick a pretty one to cover the pipe unit! Lol!
Well james you delivered your promise on the 🔥 well done!! It must have been a great feeling to have dinner and a beer watching the flames and warmer too!! Keep up the good work and vlogs please we all enjoy them.
Whoopie, the fire is lit and a nice Sunday Lamb dinner to round it off. Really cozy, a nice cup of Rosie Lee and a nice warm narrow boat, what could be better. Get the biscuits out James. Stay safe
Well done, looking very comfortable. A stove top fan will distribute the heat and I would also recommend a magnetic flue thermometer. Those thick tiles will slowly absorb heat then work like a storage heater radiating heat when the fire dies down. The glass looks like it stayed clean, but if it does get sooty, the beat cleaning agent is damp newspaper.
I dont think there's a single person who watched that without a massive smile on their face 😁👍🔥
Sunday lunch by the fire looked so satisfying. Great job. Keep safe.
I chop down trees I wear High heels.....well you know the rest lol
The stove is fabulous! Really makes it feels like home. Cozy 👍
Well done, enjoy the new comfort. Kudos to your dad for the music - one of my favourite pieces and most appropriate.
‘Twas an apt song for the moment - he’ll like that comment
Crosby , Stills and Nash❤️ .. what a milestone!
Lovely music and the stove looks great! I'm glad that you had mint sauce too!
Me too - topped it all off nicely 👍🏼
Almost as good as a brand new episode of breaking bad...... cheers boss.. you tube amazing 😊

I can feel the heat from here. Well done James, made a lot of people happy that did.
There has never been a more well deserved fire!
I never thought I'd get so emotional watching a man I've never met sit next to the fire that he's worked so hard to get installed.

You're dad played great music that suited the ambient scene! Fire looking good!
Well done James, lovely to see your stove alight and working well.

Good one James, looks fab and what a great day seeing the first fire, time for a few minutes to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labours.
Just watched the long awaited stove lighting vlog - well that will take some beating. But then they're all excellent. Compulsive viewing . Thanks your dad for the great music too, as you said James '' very appropriate''.
In a strange way, I’m looking forward to the first time I drop something in the cut and can put that magnet to the test

That’s so funny - I was thinking of you today when setting that up thinking of different ways to walk on shot. ‘‘Twas a good day - thanks

Ah cheers Phil - that one felt great !!
Well done James, well done. Thank your dad for the tune. I believe it was “Our house”
Ooh he’ll be very happy with that spot Mark!! One of his fave bands and quite apt lyrics for the lighting of the fire !!
Spot on kiddo,Pleased for you, I could almost smell the lamb and firewood smoke, keep up the good work
Cheers Shaun

Liking the new Monty Python-type opening..."It'ssssss the Narrowboat That James Built!"

Thanks so much - it felt good - great to have you on board 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
What a triumph James. Fitting and working without previous experience. Well done mate.

Awesome James, I can only imagine how this particular milestone feels. No more cold nights kipping on the boat, well done mate.
It was worth the wait.
And finally the boat comes to life with a fire... amazing mate... love watching your progress... take care and keep safe.... until the next one...
Hi James Super climax to the stove installation, after all your trials and tribulations. It is a truly successful story, well done. You deserve the good day you've had and we have enjoyed it too. (PJ)

Maybe it’s the times we are currently living in but watching you light that fire for the first time had me feeling a bit emotional
Thank you - I know what you mean. Stay safe. J
Looks amazing well done!
You have made fire! And that very splendid chimney looks wonderful on the roof. (Nice to give your dad a chance at You tube stardom!) Cheers, James!
Made up for you mate, well done. With some nice warmth inside the boat you should be able to crack on 😊😊😊
That string intro as you emerged from the waterside with an axe was like a scene from Deliverance.
I was not going for that look !!
3.2.1 we have ignition. Bloody lovely can’t beat a good 🔥 can you. Milestone day. See you got mince sauce for the lamb too, very prepared this week. Today must be such a good day for you, well done pal. Cheers.
Grinning like a Cheshire cat here. Well done James.
Thanks pal 👍🏼
Fantastic song choice mate ,always pulls on the heart strings.stove looked amazing well done.
The hovering stove makes its debut. That's handy, loose sawn logs growing wild in the forest.
I know, and that forest being so close to the canal and having just a useful small pile of logs. So handy !!!
Awesome job, great milestone!
Now I'm craving a roast lamb dinner 🤣🇨🇦
First time you light that stove, wonderful feeling
Well done, James.
Have you thought of using mirror screws to fix the stainless steel backing sheet? They have a chrome dome to cover the screw head and should complement the stainless steel and match the flue collar ring you have already fitted.

Yes they’re exactly what I’m going for. Next time I go to Screwfix I’ll get them

1st fire on the boat is a big day 🔥👏. Now we're all waiting for the 1st shower episode ☺🛀
🔥 Yes! What a milestone...wrap some spuds in tinfoil. Pop in the fire , 45 mins, baked spuds for supper.
Loved the music inpressive ! All the best from norway
oh, I can smell the lovely wood smoke from here, love an open fire
Living the Dream James -but you can't have Yorkshire Pudding with Lambada the mint sauce should have been added to your gravy👏
