This unit is specified as “Android Infotainment” but can it also be used with an Iphone as well? Or do u also have a separate model that is specific to iphones? Also, there are no wires involved outside of the installation? I can enjoy the features through bluetooth only?
The unit is standalone, and all apps and maps run directly on the unit (not on the phone). You do not need the phone at all, but you do need to provide internet connectivity to the unit. You can either tether internet from your phone, or you can have dedicated modem with the sim card in your vehicle: gromaudio.com/blog/2018/09/how-to-get-internet-to-car/ You can also use Bluetooth streaming feature of your phone and stream the music wireless from your phone to VLine system. Hi, I have a 2006 Nissan Skyline V36 Sedan. It's the equivalent of a 2008 Infiniti G35 sedan. It all appears to be exactly the same as this dash and interior, just my buttons are in Japanese and my steering wheels is right hand drive. Would this unit fit and install in my car with no issues? I have a 2008 Infiniti EX35 with factory navigation. Does this work similar to Android Auto by plugging my android phone into the box that is in the glovebox? Does the Google / Waze navigation need my phone to work or does it use an antenna of some sort?
VLine is stand alone unit and it does not require any phone to be plugged-in. You can use the phone to tether the internet data to VLine or use Bluetooth music streaming. The Google / Waze maps and music applications work directly on the VLine. In order for them to work you need to provide internet connectivity to it. You will use your factory Bluetooth phone calls feature, the same as you always did. Upon the phone call the VLine will mute and the stereo will revert to the phone call. The sound of the phone call will go through the speakers and you will use factory microphone to talk.
