    "Welcome to Wrexham" is so freaking good. I honestly enjoy the profiles of Wrexham town almost more than the games. The episode about the mining disaster was magnificent beyond words, and Wayne Jones is the best ambassador for the town. I would have never thought I would be following a Welsh football club from a tiny town in rural northwest Tennessee but I'm totally hooked!

It's great to see them really throw themselves in mind, body, soul, and deep pockets and see the rewards. I don't begrudge Wrexham their new found good times as their recent history is similar to my own team. It'll be interesting to see where they go from here. There is a glass ceiling for clubs like Wrexham with owners like Ryan and Rob. To get to the Prem and stay in the Prem you need a whole other level of wealth. Oligarch levels of wealth. Second tier is probably as high as they'll be able to go.

    • @tspawn35
      @tspawn35 19 днів тому

      Yeah, As seen with Luton Town getting into the Prem means absolutely nothing if you are just going to get dropped from it the first year you make it. The goal should never be to make the Prem. It should be to stay in the Prem. If Wrexham ends up being a perm middle of the table club in The Championship that would still be remarkable for a club that was stuck forever in the non efl leagues.

    Might be difficult for American audiences to understand because their sports don't have promotion or relegation, but its not a fairytale. And not critcising Wrexham's owners, they seem genuine about their interest and have a good connection with the town and fans. (unlike some football club owners) But they basically did this by putting together a 3rd level team in the 5th level, then the 4th level. They had the biggest wage bill in both divisions. Short term, they bring in former top level players at the end of their careers eg. Foster, McLean. Yeah nothing is guaranteed and thats worked for them so far. League 1 is kind of where they should be but making that next step up? This might be diificult. They're not the big fish anymore. And also, for every club that gets promoted another goes down the other way. Just ask Tom Brady.

    What happens when Wrexham start rising up the leagues and the players start demanding multi million pound contracts? Dead Pool 3, 4, 5 and 6 had better be in the offing before Ryan Reynolds realises how much it will cost him before he decides enough is enough and walks away and Wrexham ends up back where it started!

      Bought Aviation gin ( unsure about amount) sold it for 610 million.
      Bought Wrexham FC for 2.5 million, will probably sell it for 500+ million depending on how up the clubs climbs in promotion.
      All he does is win.

      When did Wales stop being part of the UK? And they play in English football league. I’m a little tired of this Welsh, Scottish and Irish act of claiming they were oppressed people, when all these countries massively benefited from colonialism and slavery. You guys were just as big oppressors as the English, so you Celtic guys need to stop playing oppression card, when you were some of the most oppressors of the British Empire. There is hugely popular film in the UK called Zulu, about Welsh soldier invading African countries killing Africans and stealing their land and resources and the movie made it out like Welsh soldiers were the heroes of the movie. the Welsh are like the white women of oppression, you can claim you were oppressed while being an oppressor.
