The rewatch value of Arcane is amazing. There's so much thought detail and foreshadowing that went into this.

We *finally* made it to _The Boy Savior_ 😌☺️😊
That fight scene is my favorite part of this entire series. And the series itself is amazing.

I recommend watching the Enemy music video after watching this episode. It tells you so much.
Also, yes, the way that Arcane sets things up in prior episodes is absolutely brilliant. You don't realize it the first time through, but absolutely everything has a meaning. There are tons of thematic and visual parallels that are easy to miss until a rewatch or two that add so much.

Concerning Jayce and Mel, I think it started as mostly physical attraction but they both caught feelings when they hooked up. Jayce, because he's clearly a romantic. For Mel, I think it was more accidental. Mel's the type to avoid emotional entanglements and play things close to the chest, so I think she initially went into it for the thrills, but the way she felt insulted when he left in the middle of the night says she definitely ended up thinking of it as more than a fling. She has difficulty with intimacy. Jayce does not. I love that he brings vulnerability out of her. It's sweet.

It is fascinating to see how wired we are to see a little girl as inherently innocent. Sadly, the situation with Piltover and the subjugation of Zaun destroyed any innocence that Powder once had. She willingly went on a heist, and when left to fend for herself... her first instinct is to throw a frag grenade at another kid. Even in episode 2, we see her actively making more frag grenades, and then in episode 3, she's not upset about killing their family... she's upset about Vi leaving her. The seeds of Jinx are there even in Act 1. The music video for Enemy just drives how deep those seeds run home.
Still, this is, unequivocally, my favorite episode, and Ekko is my favorite character. Of all of the factions in the cities, Piltover and Zaun aren't like heaven and hell, they're like lawful evil devils and chaotic evil demons constantly at each others' throats. The Firelights are the one good faction, not concerned with politics, money, or power, but rather with the safety of those who need it the most. Schnee did a great video about Ekko, which really helped to crystallize what it was about him that I loved. I do like to think that the Dynasties and Dystopia fight is a nod to his powers in-game, which involve being able to replay events over and over again until he gets an outcome that is acceptable. I feel like what we got was the best that he could do. Still, it is a heartbreaking reminder of how close these two were as children, and how... hard their paths in life have diverged.
One detail that I think is really interesting is that... I think that by trading her gun for Vi's medicine, Caitlyn actually saved herself in this moment. Those mechanical firelights were drawn to the enforcers' guns, but because Caitlyn had traded her gun away, she only got the collateral damage from the one that took out Marcus. As for Marcus, though... I feel bad for his daughter, but I don't feel bad for him. He's consistently made the wrong decisions throughout the show.

Great episode, great reactions too. I totally forgot about Ekko before this episode. I love seeing how they move things into place and build the tension. Looking forward to the next one! Vi and Caitlyn do make an awesome team and couple. The game cinematics show this as well.

"That was hella romantic, let's not lie to ourselves Jinx...! I'm into it."
Your reaction is very perceptive in so many ways, as 'Arcane' doesn't hold the viewer's hand or always tell you what's going on. But you are paying attention!
For example, not many straight couples realise Cait and Violet are slowly falling in love.

That's interesting to me. As a straight dude, I was getting chemistry basically since the brothel scene in ep. 4. But I am aware that people don't pick up on media cues that well most of the time, so, it makes sense.

Jayce's family were smiths. That'll give you a good workout.

I know I should dislike Silco, he's done such horrible things. He's just...so...cool. Love him or hate him, I have no trouble believing that he means every word he says, no matter how manipulative or cruel.

12:45 One of the themes of this show is the cycle of violence.... Yeah, unfortunately, history does tend to rhyme.
