Read my article "Cleaning instead of Climbing" in the Nepali Times!
It was a fantastic experience with the Indian Army team under the command of Major Ranveer. Extremely friendly, honest, helpful, disciplined, dedicated and strong mountaineers who, I am sure, are also great soldiers! I would fight with them, on their side ;-)) or climb with them any time!
Great to connect with you again.

It's as if the Indian Army was meant to be there that day. They truely showed great leadership and stayed calm in chaos. Blessings to them. 💖
Truly appreciate your words! I felt so low when Sherpa - The Captain of the Ship started crying.

@@angryyoungman4389 "I felt so low when Sherpa - The Captain of the Ship started crying"
He probably had friends and work mates who were up the mountain, not to mention all of his friends and family who live near by. A major disaster just happened in his backyard and he may have had good reason to think people close to him had just died, it's pretty normal to be upset.
The Indians aren't upset because they didn't get injured and all their friends and family are completely safe back in India.
You can think the Indians showed some sort of special courage and puff out your chest in pride all you want, the realty is they didn't just suffer a tragedy, the avoided one.
But yes, clap clap, you Indians are the bravest most awesome people in the whole world lol.
@@BreaksFast hey it's not all indians. We are talking about the Indian Army men. You have no idea what any indian army troop or commando goes through in combat situations in places like Siachin Glacier -40 degree temperatures and there you have to stand strong to combat not the weather but the other armies. No wonder our country hasn't given in to chinese at those mountain terrains. All thanks to our armies. You can be jealous or whatever but the truth is they face death constantly in their line of job unlike you commenting from your home opinion about an army based on one incident where they indeed performed outstandingly. And as long as friends and families yes nobody is claiming that sherpa was expected to not cry however you can't just ignore that the army men were legit calm and they lose their comrades every now and then on the border lines penetrating terrorist hideouts doesn't mean they start crying. They know what they're doing.
The Indian Army really stepped up to the occasion. I'm so impressed and am sure they made India proud. Also amazing the guys who managed to film without so much as a camera shake in all this chaos. This video should really be rated much higher in the algorithm.
Thanks
When you see a sherpa crying you know its bad. My salute to the Indian army and videographer amazing team.
If ever I’ve come near to feeling fright, it was watching this documentary when tragedy struck base camp. What an amazing group of positive and humble men the Indian Army are. To stay and fulfil a different mission after such tragedy hit is proof that they truly are... not only Army but men of substance. The comradeship is commendable.
The cinematography was amazing and not gone unnoticed by far, shedding light into what you sometimes see and what sometimes the photographer captures can be two different things.
Good luck Indian Army for next .. your summit!

These are soldiers who understand how to operate in difficult situations with loss of comrades, not a bunch of rich entitled people who are only out for there own self and self gratification. I have much admiration and respect for these Indian Army soldiers, very professional and an amazing display of leadership from all ranks. I know leadership when I see it, I spent 21 years as a US Army officer. Much love and respect for my Indian Army brothers. I would serve along side of these men any day.
Those "rich and entitled" folks provide a lot towards Nepal's town and villages for their economy. There's no reason to bash them.
YOU ARE VERY WRONG SAYING THAT THEY ARE NOT A BUNCH OF ENTITLED RICH PEOPLE WHO ARE LOOKING OUT FOR THEMSELVES. DO YOU REALIZE HOW MUCH MONEY THEY PAY FOR SHERPPAS TO HELP THEM THEY PAY UP TO FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS WHO DO LOOK OUT FOR THEMSELVES CHARGING WAY TOO MUCH MONEY GO ASK ANY MOUNTAINEER. THE ONLY ONES THAT DO NOT CHARGE ALOT OF MONEY IS ASIAN TREKKING THEY ONLY CHARGE FIVE-THOUSAND DOLLARS GO WATCH THE STORY OF DAVID SHARP

The footage taken while the climbing team were on the glacier and in the midst of the earthquake is amazing. You could tell by the quickened breathing that those men were terrified, yet there was no crying out, no one froze in place, everyone kept moving in as orderly a fashion as possible to get to safety. Those were some very brave men. I am in awe of them.

I’m thinking the reason the Indian Army was able to hold it together while the Sherpas fell completely apart was because of their military training. It was very impressive to see their immediate call to action and how calm they were.
My respect for Indian Army
It's the Army for a reason
Cus they are tough and got trained to handle such situation while keeping emotions aside.
Those sherpa had to think for the safety of thier family and friends which make them scared while the Indian army are assured that their family is safe back home in India.
Yes! Our home was flooded by Hurricane Harvey. At the time my husband's senior director at work was a retired Air Force general. He took over and that man was organized. He had our 20 X 30-foot sunroom mopped and those big plastic tables set up, it was designated the clean room. Everything that could be saved was cleaned off and placed in that room. Dozens of plastic tubs with lids were brought in. He had made lists of what we needed brought in, it made our lives so much easier from that point His training just kicked in automatically.

Mad respect for the Indian military and the sherpas !!! As a former marine , this gave me a lot more respect for the Indian army !!! Always had respect for any world military especially our allies but how they put others before themselves demands a lot of respect and they can hold there heads high !!!! I’d fight next to that team anyday !!! God bless everyone who lost there lives and who saved those who came close to death !! This film needs to be shown more I found it by dumb luck !! One day I plan on attempting Everest after I concur Denali when I retire . Couple years god willing , I would be happy to just stand at the foot of Everest to be honest , I will one day . Awesome film brave holding a camera while trying to survive!!
Indian army are expert mountain fighters. They were used in the Italian campaign extensively vs the toughest and best German army soldiers stationed in 43 to 44. The allied commander your general mack Clark praised the Indian army in a famous short letter for their great performance and leadership in clearing Italy of the german army.
Since when you have become Indian allies? American government (owned by corporations) always supported the dictators in our neck of world and caused trouble. Better off alone and that’s why we had to have N Bomb and since then there has been a relative peace.
I'll join you a everest.
Enjoy your retirement, and have a great trip to the summit of Denali!!! I just like you would be happy just to touch down at Everest base camp!! Everest was always a dream of mine since the 6th grade, at 43 i am too wore out and beaten up to even try. I had both hips replaced and i told my orthopedic doc i guess climbing Mt. Everest is out of the question now lol. Also i would like to thank you for your service, my family and i greatly appreciate the hard work and sacrifice you guys make for our country and protection!!! Thank you. And i sincerely hope you enjoy your retirement when it hits and you are able to accomplish all of your goals and bucket list things to do.
Unfortunately they are putinist and pro-Russia, not allies with you Americans. It’s sad as I like India and have been living there.
I wish I had known about this way earlier than just now. I have such mad respect for the Indian Army, absolutely a group of top notch, class act men. I believe it was destiny that brought them there at that very specific point in time. And of course it goes without saying, the admiration I have for the Sherpas that are present on Everest year after year is beyond comparison. All very, very brave and courageous men. God bless them.
How come this was not reported more on western tv. This is amazing what these Indian army guys done after narrowly escaping death themselves. well done Indian army.

This is an extremely informative video. Special mention about the Videograoger who, inspite of such dangerous situation, still managed to shoot raw footage without which this documentary wouldn't have been possible.
This is an extremely good video which had to be released earlier. Usually, on these summit expeditions, people are told that they are just responsible for their own lives and that they should save themselves first, but the The Indian Army team put everyone else's safety before, upholding the ethos of the Army.

? What movie
Its amazing, I'm so grateful that the Indian Army were there and that they filmed this too because there was an image of a tall fair haired man, my younger brother a mountain climber.
I saw this image on the BBC news and knew my brother was alive, until the images were sent around the globe we didn't know much, and your camera crew's footage sent out word of the survivors to the worried fretting families all over the world. There had been talk of satellite calls and other things but to be able to see the face of your brother on film confirmed it.
We had been waiting for days and then found out he survived this terrible situation and still loves the mountain. We were all so worried about all of the summiteers and the conditions especially when the news came to us about the terrible earthquake in Nepal.
The earthquake took so many lives and caused so much devastation to Nepal, I wasn't there but will never forget it.
We couldn't get any information and I recall being wrung out for days because so many people died in Nepal and on the mountain and many were injured, the embassy's couldn't cope with enquiries at the time but each and everyone I contacted over the three quiet news days, came back to me to find out if he had survived when they began to move down the mountain.
Many thanks to the Indian Army and all those who helped the injured and dying and those who cleaned up the mountain after all of the supplies were flung far and wide (not an easy job) You all made this easier for those of us waiting.
xxx
The Indian Army is badass.. fearless, duty-driven people. I'm glad that they provided you the good news

Those chopper pilots are damn good, the first guy landed with such precision the spotter could touch his nose. 47:00
The Indian army is legit. Full of heroes like Vikram Batra and these men in this video. God bless all of you. Stay free!
Yeah, I actually said "wow" out loud to that landing. That kind of precision is not the easiest of things on a normal flat place. Doing that, there.... that was some damned fine airmanship.
And truly, my hat is off and my head lowered, to all of the people who just started helping the rest. Those are the kind of people who make me proud to also be human. I don't know how I would respond in and after a disaster but that is the example I want to follow.
Holy **** Great skill on MOUNTAIN

Talk about Murphy's law, forget about it - an earthquake happening while members of the Indian army were crossing the kumbu ice fall on Mt. Everest. It was a miracle that all the soldiers survived, let alone rescue other injured survivors!!!
This was a great documentary. The Indian Army team was very brave. Some of them just had no experience with the glacier and to at first believe this could be sth that happens there all the time is mind blowing. Can you imagine having to face such a disaster on your very first day and very first climb through the icefall? That’s insane and might have saved their lives. They were so scared and so courageous at the same time. Such nice people. I’m truly impressed.
So, so impressed by the India Army group. I remember this so well. It was a scary time in Nepal. We have a clinic there that is more or less the health care we can offer in this part of the world. It survived the earthquake, no idea how.
I must say I'm completely in awe of this brave group of men who braved such peril and served their fellow climbers with such compassion and selflessness. I only wish this had be publicized better. I send my warmest best wishes to the entire Indian Team for being the heros they are.

I find this story so auspicious … as if this Indian army (not to summit for some victory but to clean up the mountain) just HAPPEN to be in the right place at the right time where no one was killed … just in the middle of many avalanches barreling down on EITHER SIDE OF THEM is really mind-blowing! All spared to assist so many others is one of those stories that makes one stop and consider how things really work in this physical fleeting precious reality.
Indeed ❤
Just love the Indian culture. Such gentle yet strong, respectful, self sacrificing and determined men. The content of this video doesn’t surprise me at all.
They were indeed extremely humane and friendly. I stayed with Major Ranveer's team after the big quake - see below.
The Indian Army were saved to save the others. Much respect to them. You are amazing. You were sent there for the reason of cleaning the mountain. But behind that reason the real reason lies. To help the people who will need it when the tragedy hit them. You were sent there on the right time, right place and right moment. If you had not been there on that day, we don’t know what could have happened to the other mountaineers that are injured.
The guy who recorded the avalanche, you are amazing too, we get to see and realise how dangerous it is to be up there.
Behind all what seems to be "accidents", there are things that are planned in the "accident" stories. This planet and human lives are one big universal movie.
When this dude held his Nomad 10 up at Everest Base Camp it sealed the deal for me. The smile on his face was priceless.

100% respect to the Indian army, this is what they were trained to do and they did it professionally
Well done to the Indian Army team, luckily their training kicked in when it was needed the most and they took control and made the situation controlled as best as possible. RIP to those who lost their lives.
These are the kind of people that we should be paying millions of dollars to. Not people, who act like them for money or people who can run fast and kick a ball, or who can hit someone if front of the camera. The world is upside down.
Don’t get me wrong, I also have the deepest respect for these people and everyone who sacrifices their life to help others but that’s just not the way the world works. There’s a fair reason why people earn the kind of money they earn
@@Morizzoo "There’s a fair reason why people earn the kind of money they earn"
This is the height of naivete.
@@JarthenGreenmeadow why is that naive? That’s how the world works: The more people are willing to pay for something the more the ones providing it earn
You attacked actors and football players but gives a pass to the worlds true evils, the bernie madoffs of the world.so sad
@@marydaniel8147 I don't attack anyone lol. I'm just saying actors and athletes are overpaid children compared to these los bossos.
Recommended after 5 years.. But It's worth watching.. Thanku INDIAN ARMY..
It was a blessing that they where there to help. God works in mysterious ways.
Never in my life I felt this tension and stress that exists in this documentary respect ❤️
Amazing story. I cried in happiness that they survived. RIP to those who lost their lives on that day
All army's in the world should be like the Indian army... serving with a smile...taking leadership in a foreigner place when everybody was confused, injureded and didn't know what to do...
And at the end
They clean the catastrophic base camp.
👏 👏 👏 👏 respect for those boys
I have absolutely no words for the intent of the Indian Army... My sincere salutations to the Indian Army. Jai Hind
