Fun PSA: Like he's done the past few seasons, Xisuma posted the world info (seed, version, and important datapacks list) in a pinned post on /r/Hermitcraft... and this seed is _incredible._ I absolutely recommend "playing along with the Hermits" on this one, the spawn is right next to a village you can loot for starting gear, plus plenty of interesting places nearby to build your own bases in (I'm totally going for Cherry Blossom Mountain)...
the cherry blossom mountain kind of blows my mind, it's already gorgeous and it has so much potential once they all start building and terraforming around it. Such a unique location.
Not to mention that Docs 1st episode is almost 3 hours long! Almost like a challenge specifically for those that want to watch everyones 1st episode day one.
I did hand-sewing while watching Doc's episode and I had to split it up into 2 sessions. I wasn't able to watch all of the day one episodes on the first day. I still have a few to go. I think this year I will be dedicating my mending and other chores during Doc's episodes.

Being an onlooker of the Hermit-verse, and by extension the community around it, for a little while now, it’s still surreal seeing skizz and Joel as members of Hermitcraft for reals The guys I once thought of as, respectively, “oh yeah, that one guy from the life series” and “oh yeah, lizzie’s husband”
My favourite moment the entire day 1 was how funny the mining coop thing ended up. Keralis missing from not only the intro but his group being forgotten from the debrief. Not to mention ren dying from his own event while channeling his inner project manager and organising chests as mumbo was trying to kick him from the team as he recruits a new teammate via indeed.
They didn't even mention the most hilarious detail about Rendog's death - he was blown up by a creeper while staying at the camp, rather than going down into the really dangerous area to mine.
@@Pixlriffs Well, he organised the event, and then barely contributed to the mining, so it could be said it was a clever ploy to get free resources. So he kind of deserved that karmic payback 😄
From his explanation on the subreddit, I think it's that it's vanilla Experimental Feature enablement, but then a datapack to specifically turn off Trial Chambers while keeping all other content (blocks and items). They've also got a customized worldbarrier at 1km to the south(?) to ensure that when 1.21 officially happens, there'll be new generateable terrain close to spawn that _can_ have Trial Chambers and other shenanigans...
The datapack's publicly released on Modrinth. It's called "Update 1.21 without trial chambers" and it has ONLY the crafter, copper, and tuff - it is also NOT compatible with turning on the "update 1_21 (feature)" datapack included in the base game @@WackoMcGoose
We will have lots more of that with how close they live to eachother, only Tango separates them. The greater cherry mountain area is going to become such a hub this season because so many hermits are in it. 7 directly adjacent to the mountain, 4 just south around decked out lake (Tango, Etho, Pearl, Cub), Zed's valley is west of Etho's Jungle. Doc's Village is southeast of Pearl's mountain. And Bdubs is north of Scar/Mumbo and can see one of the hills that will frame the Zoo. That's a about 14 hermits in that cluster. And farther east is the cluster containing Iskall, Stress, Ren, Keralis, and XB in the plains. I can't wait to see a map of where all the hermits ended up with their approximate claims laid out. They might feel spread out now, but once they get elytra they will fell very close. (Hopefully bdubs gives everyone a horse road first)
17:25 Scar's death was the most frustrating to watch, I literally screamed out loud. To have all of that work and materials lost, I have felt that pain and it is no fun. Love your guys work and the subtitles, thank you so much.
Doc's episode goes so hard. I had just finished watching the eps of like 5 hermits when I saw his 2 hour beast in my feed, ever deserving of his title G.O.A.T.

I would personally like to thank Lyarrah for the subtitles. As someone with auditory processing disorder, it is amazing to know that the subtitles are actually accurate. Even professional shows tend to mess up subtitles from time to time. No more replaying the same clip over and over to find out what someone is saying because I can't even trust subtitles!
Really love the editing on this! "Cats Searching for the Truth" is such a banger & distinctive background song. Also the flow between different people & groups was extremely smooth! :D
I have a feeling it's going to be way better than last season. Not that the last season was bad. It definitely wasn't but there were a lot of hermits losing interest in playing that season and it did drag on a bit. We'll see but this is the best start to a season I've seen in a while.
@rileystolk I would go for doc. Impulse is a close second though. I watch everything from both of them but doc releases a god damn movie every Friday so it has just become a habit that I look forward to those uploads from doc when the work week is over

I just thought of something. I think Grian decided to make a cliff-side base so that the back of the base IS the cliff. This way he doesn't have to finish it, it is technicaly already done. Pro move right there

This is my favorite part of the season, watching groups form and then the recap gives accidental clues to who lives where. For example, I thought Tango was farther from Grian but I saw his wheat field in the corner of his frame
i made a personal goal to watch every hermit's first episode this past weekend- and i completed my challenge but it was an incredible amount of work. it is more than insane that you guys do this all the time, and my respect for you has grown even more immense

Love they used a data pack instead of waiting for the update or starting without it. Really puts in perspective of how you use the autocrafter and the copper block stone cutter seems like something that will be adjusted...hopefully.

Its already hollow, and Grian kept calling it a volcano.
Gem and Keralis built the same starter base (boat+palm) and Etho's clearly suffering from Stockholm syndrome.
But they executed it in such wildly different ways- its honestly really cool seeing two hermits approach the same idea (conceptually) so differently!
