Nice to see another review from you! Are you planning on doing a full review for the Samsung A13 5G? Samsung keeps killing it with all their different phones for every budget.
Great review of a great phone! I bought the A53 5G just over 2 months ago here in the UK. I'm gobsmacked by how amazing my experience with the "mid-ranger" is! I've always had the top of the range Samsung phones, but the A53 is great. Battery life incredible, like you've mentioned, display and camera is superb. Plus the phone feels great in the hand. I don't even rock a case on it as it feels quite grippy with the more flatter sides. I'd recommend this handset to anyone and would make a great gift for someone, if they're in need of a new phone.
@@doctorizvan2096 I've taken some great pictures with my A53. Especially closeups of flowers and insects. Also landscapes shots are great too. I use a few of them as wallpaper backgrounds on my Book Pro 360. You can get some great zoom shots too but a steady hand or tripod might be needed. I haven't tested night photography yet but I don't expect amazing results for that. I should point out that my device is quick to find focus.
@J L It's still superb 👌🏼 I do recommend that people download apps they use on a regular basis only. So many people have loads of apps installed that they never use. I don't have Facebook or Twitter installed so can't vouch on how it would cope with them. I know they are data, battery and system resources hungry apps. I've enabled Developer Options in the phone settings and I've reduced animator duration scale and the others to .5X and A53 5G is excellent. Battery life still great giving me 2.5 days on one charge with SOT of 3.5hrs per day. I also use the A53 for casting downloaded UA-cam videos (Premium customer) to my Samsung TV and it works a treat. Also using the phone daily as a mobile hotspot for my laptop. I've even dropped the phone on to a concrete floor from waist height and I've only a very miniscule mark close to the camera bump. It's great having a plastic back again although the front is glass so I was lucky perhaps. I really can't fault the phone.
I just got the new A52 LTE 8/256GB in 275usd in my country, for me the major difference for A53 is support 5G, but my country might be take 5 year later only will have the 5G 😄 so I really enjoy my A52 now
Not a bad phone. I got mine brand new from boost mobile for $149.00 + tax. Phone works good. I bought it because I needed to upgrade to a 5g phone. I deleted some of the bloatware apps. Between Google apps and Samsung apps. I was using to much ram. Now down to approx. 3.2 g of ram usage. Cam works good. Screen looks good. Would recommend this phone but would not pay any more than what I paid for it.
I just got one for $180 as an upgrade, so far it isn't a bad phone. The 5G is a welcomed addition, it's fast. And the screen looks amazing. It's been a while since I've been in the Samsung ecosystem, last Samsung I had was the Galaxy S4, but it still feels very Samsungy so was easy to adapt after being an LG fan so long. I miss LG.
I went from A52 4G to 11 pro Max now to the A53 5G at Costco in Australia the A53 costs $649 but I got it on special for $500 same price as the A52 was but the A53 5G is a wesome phone worth buying for sure

It looks like a reasonable midrange phone! My thoughts are that because Samsung put a 5000mah battery in the A53, why couldn't they fit at least a 4000mah battery in the S22! It's kind of frustrating!
The battery is the main reason I won’t buy the S22. If money were no object I wouldn’t care and I’d get the Ultra, but if I’m paying anything above $500 I expect better screen on time. A53 is a good alternative
Is it true the Exynos Galaxy A53 5G's front and rear cameras have better colours and dynamic range compared to the older Snapdragon A52s 5G? Which ones would you choose in terms of general camera quality & performance and video recording?
Well, for me there is no point to upgrade from my A52s 5g, no headphone jack and also way better performance from sd 778g more capable than exynos 1280
But A52s lacks 2 year update , voice focus , video call effects, fun mode and many other important features. And at this point A52s has only 1 update left. So A53 is a better option
I'm sorry but this type-c to type-c cable and no charger in box needs to stop. Literally no one has one of those. Until that starts to be more mainstream, it needs to remain a type-c to type-a connector.
My cell service provider was able to tweak my contract so I pay $15 a month more for 24 months - no cash outlay. The screen is noticeably better than my S7 and I was long due to upgrade my phone. I picked up a 25W fast charger for $19 on Amazon and a case/screen protector for $15 and I'm one happy camper. Using Smart Switch ( after installing on both phones ) I was able to transfer all data from my old phone. For your average user , this cell will meet or exceed all your needs.
My suggestion is that if you are looking for just the best phone out there, I would say that the galaxy s22 series or the iPhone 13 are good ones. But if you need to save some money, I think this one would be a pretty good choice. It doesn't come with a charger or headphone jack so I got a little disappointed when I first saw the video. But if a charger and a headphone jack is a necessity for you then I think the earlier a52 might be ok as well. It has a headphone jack and a charger so that is pretty good. But the new a53 is definitely more premium and more new.
Hmm I think you're looking at wrong phone 😅 since this is a midranger. So many things have been compromised compared to your flagship tier, Pixel 6 Like the above guy said, S22 is more like it, direct rival to your Pixel 6 👍🏼
All depends on what you use it for. I went from Pixel 5 > Pixel 6 > A53 and have been perfectly happy. The fingerprint sensor is miles better than the Pixel 6, and battery life is not even in the same league. I use my phone for both work and personal use. I never play games on my phone so any "dropped frames" from the "weak processor" is completely irrelevant to me. I would guess that 60-65% of my device usage is communication (Email, Text, Whatsapp, Teams) while the rest is made up of Google Maps, Spotify, and some very lite social media browsing. I actually have the phone turned down to 60hz as well...because I do not need to read an email in 120hz. I unplug my phone at 6:30am and plug it back in at bedtime around 10:30pm and its still usually around 60% battery left. I was usually having to charge my Pixel 6 on the drive home just to make it last until bedtime.
I need a phone with OTG support, primary music DACs. I do not care about a headphone jack, because I will use it for testing a music player over external DACs. How this phone on that matter?
Please help me to let the battery last longer. Just bought it in SA. Must i charge it for 3hours the first time. Because it only lasted 4hours without using it???. What is wrong
In Norway the A52s is priced at roughly $465 dollars, meanwhile the 6/128 A53 is priced at a discount for $415. The 8/256 one is listed at the same price as the A52s. Didn't really review anything before ordering as I currently have an Iphone 6s. So it's an upgrade in every regard. But the amount of hate the A53 is getting is making me slightly nervous that I made a bad choice. Any thoughts? I could return the A53 when I get it and pay $50 more for either the 8gb ram version or the A52s. I'm looking for longevity and mild use (UA-cam, Insta, Snap, Photos etc. Don't really play any games on my phone.)
I bought it with 8GB+256GB I have to say the screen quality is outstanding, and that's what's really important to me. I like the quick in-screen fingerprint unlock. the sound quality is very good too. the plastic body doesn't bother me, as I'm using a nice shockproof rubberized casing + gorilla glass protector. I'm glad I wasn't carried away with buying a flagship phone, as it does everything just as nicely. and the sharpness of the text is just superb.
Can you recommend guys any cheap & good way of getting headphone jack + phone charging at the same time? Cant find any so far... I tried one, cheap Chinese adapter from my local store and.... it didnt work for charging and listening music .... :(
Great vid. I was wondering about this device would fair as a replacement for my son's aging A71 5G. BTW, do you have a link for the emulator controller you used on your devices?
Does anyone else have a problem with the phone unlocking on its own while in your pocket? I have thumbprint screen lock and pin code, but when I take it out my pocket different windows are opened up.
@@ShaneSymonds Here in Canada, too😒. I was able to buy a used A52, which is an Indian variant that came in the Awesome Blue, which I love. It also has 8GB of RAM as compared to 6GB with the Canadian variant. But, it's only 4G, not 5G which the Canadian one has. After being very satisfied with it for what I use it for it being an upgrade over my A20, I'm tossing the idea around to just get an A53 next instead of the S22 series. I've never owned a flagship, but if the specs are comparable for most things, why spend the extra money? Thoughts, Shane...or anyone?
Hey @Shane Symonds, does the A53 comes with an Orange tinged Torchlight? Because mine seems to be that way. I was expecting it to be like white-ish. Would appreciate if you could shed some light to this. Thank you.
Hey Shane, you are one of my go to channels for smartphone reviews as you always do an excellent job. I am currently torn over a decision over two phones. I love the Galaxy S22 lineup, and I especially love a compact phone coming from the Galaxy S9. At the same time do not want to be overly concerned about battery life. Because of this, I am heavily considering the bigger S22 plus instead of the regular S22, but am still heavily reluctant due to the much bigger footprint. Do you personally think the battery life of the regular Galaxy S22 is something to worry about or has it improved at all over time with your testing?
Hi there am using an LG stylus from yesteryears it's trash in everyways and 8GB of storage so I only can have youtoube but If I could have some I'd buy the s21 Fe but definitely think u can't go wrong with the S22
The "much" bigger footprint should not be something to worry about. There are tens of millions of phones sold every day, one single phone is not going to affect anything in the grand view of things. If you have an extra couple hundred dollars lying around I would recommend the s22 ultra but defenitely get the s22 plus it is worth it.
I have the A53, not sure if I am getting high battery drain on my device. I get about just under 24hours battery usage. I had the A70 before and I get the same usage now even though it is a bigger battery. Could that be correct?
Where is the unboxing video of this A53? I feel like you should do an unboxing and first impressions video first and then after 53 hours later video in my opinion
Fair enough. I actually began filming an unboxing video but then decided to make a 53 hours later video because if I feel like there isn't enough content to put into multiple videos, I'll just make 1 and that was the case with this phone. I'd rather not stretch out/"milk" content as some people will. I always want to have information dense videos and quite honestly, the A53 is very similar to last years A52 with just a few changes like battery, no headphone jack, and different processor that pretty much falls in line with the A52's. I understand the usual progression of tech videos (unboxing/short-term follow up/review/long-term review), but depending on the product I will do only 1 or some combo of a few of the above. Hope that makes sense!
Better to buy a52s, at cheaper price offers charger in the box, better performance and headphone Jack, battery is pretty good for 2 days and you will still use midrange phone around max 3 yrs and in this scenario you will use it less cus weak performance if they don't fix it with updates.
Ok A53 isn't really good but to me aleast it a working phone and yes the gameplay is a glichy but im not using the phone to play game all the time i just use it to watched videos im still im going to buy it because atleast is better then the one I have now
This phone is not worth buying for me. So I have plan to buy the A52s while it is still on sale. Someone will say that the a53s should come out, but I think the regular a53 should be stronger than both the a52 and the a52s.

Just keep in mind no headphone jack, other than that you'll be pretty happy!
I think A73 Will be better sold smartphone than a53 cus snapdragon proccesor
Thanks for the video! When are you uploading the 53 days review?
Well, for me there is no point to upgrade from my A52s 5g, no headphone jack and also way better performance from sd 778g more capable than exynos 1280
Exactly there selling it like it's an upgrade only the battery has a upgrade, everything else the a52s is superior
The Exynos is grossly inferior in use and benchmarks to the SD778 of the A52s. I owned a A53.
Great review, but why is there an I-phone at 5:20? Am I missing a point?
That's only pic ..
As a user I'm satisfied , but in its lages but 2/3 months later it somehow adjust the lag . Overall I'm getting good experience
For your average user , this cell will meet or exceed all your needs.
thanks for the great review. I'm tired of my pixel 6...I'm thinking of buying this device. Thoughts?
So many things have been compromised compared to your flagship tier, Pixel 6
Like the above guy said, S22 is more like it, direct rival to your Pixel 6 👍🏼
Thanks for time-coding the video! Wish others did it too. Subscribing.
What controller are you using.?🤔
I need a phone with OTG support, primary music DACs. I do not care about a headphone jack, because I will use it for testing a music player over external DACs. How this phone on that matter?
Please help me to let the battery last longer. Just bought it in SA. Must i charge it for 3hours the first time. Because it only lasted 4hours without using it???. What is wrong
Hi , I am very interested in getting this phone but I woul;d like to know what would be the next step up or equivalent S model?
A52s 5G has the headphone jack and comes with a charging plug , a big turn off this phone , supposedly an upgrade!
Wat best recommended type c headphone jack is best for this phone guys?
Longer support life than a Google Pixel. Samsung is absolutely killing it.
I bought it with 8GB+256GB
I have to say the screen quality is outstanding, and that's what's really important to me.
BTW, do you have a link for the emulator controller you used on your devices?
amzn.to/3jaJL2f
Uhm is it worth waiting on if the a73 would come to Holland?
Also do the available cases hamper with tempurture and connectivity?
Does anyone else have a problem with the phone unlocking on its own while in your pocket? I have thumbprint screen lock and pin code, but when I take it out my pocket different windows are opened up.
It's not a discount. They left out the charger!
I think that this phone is good.
What mobile controller was that ?
Can you do comparison to Samsung A52s?
Love the phone! Just want it in a different color and a durable case.
Yeah in the US the only color is Black which is weird.
Hi Shane...pls do a unboxing video on the samsung a03. Really hoping that you will make this video....
Does anyone know what the video is like for youTubing? And also the recording sound close up?
Hey @Shane Symonds, does the A53 comes with an Orange tinged Torchlight? Because mine seems to be that way. I was expecting it to be like white-ish. Would appreciate if you could shed some light to this. Thank you.
I still keep in touch with my A52 4G
Cant believe ive had my a52 for a year now
A53 geekbench is double than a52
I Can`t decide - this A53 or S20 FE 5 G (with Snapdragon)! Please Help! Both are for the same price.
S20 fe both have the same flaws but what your getting with the s20 fe is build quality
I would still go A53...just for the 4 year system updates and 5 years of security patches.
Hi there am using an LG stylus from yesteryears it's trash in everyways and 8GB of storage so I only can have youtoube but
If I could have some I'd buy the s21 Fe but definitely think u can't go wrong with the S22
I got this same one in retail package at My World Phone $379.99
Looks like a great phone, but it has no wireless charging. This is - sorry - a no-go for me. Otherwise, nice piece.
Nice explain.. Bro
Is this the unlocked model or the Verizon model
Was it mostly on WiFi?
I have the A53, not sure if I am getting high battery drain on my device. I get about just under 24hours battery usage. I had the A70 before and I get the same usage now even though it is a bigger battery. Could that be correct?
Watch sakitech and jimmy is promo channels, they have videos explaining how to extend your battery life

Which one is a52s or a53? Some says a52s has a bad battery life. Thanks
did you decide

1 Day 4 Hours At That One Point...That's Absolutely Splendid!...
Looks like I'll buy this one this year🤷♂️
It's a good option for sure
@@ShaneSymonds we are waiting for the A73 5G video now.
Better to buy a52s, at cheaper price offers charger in the box, better performance and headphone Jack, battery is pretty good for 2 days and you will still use midrange phone around max 3 yrs and in this scenario you will use it less cus weak performance if they don't fix it with updates.
Ok A53 isn't really good but to me aleast it a working phone and yes the gameplay is a glichy but im not using the phone to play game all the time i just use it to watched videos im still im going to buy it because atleast is better then the one I have now
Just got this phone after being unable to unlock my Note 8. I didn't realize how outdated the Note 8 was lol
Did you get this SOT with 120hz?
120hz and running the display at 50-100% brightness most of the time
I have A52s right now and I am satisfied from it and I think A53 is as good as A52s
A52s is better except more software updates and slight battery life... And cheaper if you can find it on markets new
huh, so not even the midrange is save from the lack of heaphone jacks. seriously, not having it is the feature here
Portland, JAMAICA in The Building !!!!!!!!!!
I bought this phone but didn't like because no wireless charging system in this phone
The phone is terrible. It stutters and lags all the time. It doesn't stay on 120hz. It throttles when it wants.
Do they all get payed by Samsung?
How is haptic on a53? Is it better than om A52?
@hit-me_up_Mr_Shane_Symonds what prize?
@hit-me_up_Mr_Shane_Symonds what prize?
This phone is not worth buying for me. So I have plan to buy the A52s while it is still on sale. Someone will say that the a53s should come out, but I think the regular a53 should be stronger than both the a52 and the a52s.
It should be stronger but it isn't
I saw it at our electronics store. What a beefy phone
