    I am so thankful for this video, my mom is 81 and always been an advanced knitter since she was 6 she knitted, but, she has not been able to knit in years and I recall her doing these bobbles and I can learn fast and knit anything and have for years myself done jumpers cardigans blankets hats etc, i never get bored of mistakes and unravelling my work and even starting again I just laugh and try again .
    I had never done a bobble in my life and you just made my day ..
    Thank you so much for this video . 😊

    Thank you for the great video, and the second bind-off for bobble. I like it better too. As a lefty, self-taught, hearing "left needle" or "right needle" was very helpful as I took a few written notes and I can then just reverse the words left and right as I was listening the second time, and I am good to go. The words "the other needle", as some other knitters use in their videos, makes it hard to write out crib notes. :0)

    I really like the centered decrease technique! Recently, I watched a tutorial on decreasing and the instructor mentioned that if a bobble is droopy, you can fix it by slipping the bobble's stitch on the return row/round. Haven't tested it yet . . .

    Thank you once again Suzanne! I’m knitting a pattern that calls for 5 stitch bobbles and for binding them off it simply says purl the 5 stitches together which is kind of awkward. Even more so with size 7US needles (4,5mm)and mohair yarn! The technic you show is more suitable and makes it much easier! Hugs from Barcelona

    Very clear. I like your central bind off but it would be easy to forget the slide that stitch over to the other needle. Do you think these would be good with a baby blanket in a chunky yarn?

    The swatch directions below the video, as viewed on my computer, simply says MB in 3 different places. When I click on the 3 dots below the video, to the right of the thumbs up or down symbols, this opens the entire auto-generated transcript to the right of the video... which is very helpful, thank-you.

    HI, Suzanne - can you explain the differences between nupps and bobbles? From what I can tell, bobbles are larger and therefore use a lot more yarn than nupps, and can be made in reverse st st, while nupps can't. So bobbles are bolder, and nupps are subtler - more delicate. Can both be made on yarn larger than lace or fingering? I really love all your videos - thanks so much for all the sharing!

    • @SuzanneBryan
      @SuzanneBryan  5 років тому +1

      I have a video on nupps too. Take a look at it, the link is at the end of my reply. Bobbles stand out from the fabric much more and are generally round. They are often seen in Aran knitting. Nupps lay in line with the fabric more and are often used in Estonian and other lace knitting. Here is the nupps video - ua-cam.com/video/QXIgkl1GtZw/v-deo.html
