True, though Bryce Cardinal and Chase Masson are coming up strong.
Proven progression is up there too
Cool to see the intakes clear themselves every time the blowoff valve flutters 😄
Exactly what I was gonna comment lol
Yeah same 😊 really cool to see!
the 2021 did it but al lower pressure 😂
Very easy to spott on the 4 stroke yammies.
I believe it's actually due to it NOT having a blow off valve, what you are hearing is the air surging backwards through the intakes, if it had a blow off valve it would make a very distinctive purge sound in one go and not flutter like that, it also wouldn't clear the intakes because the blow off valve does not release the air back into the intake, it releases it off of the valve in the engine bay.
I had a turbo diesel with a big intake and no BOV and it made that exact same fluttering noise when you close the throttle quick while on heavy acceleration because suddenly the intake is closed and all that air that the turbo was sucking in has nowhere to go so it surges backward through the intake.
My group all ran boosted 174 apex’s and built sidewinders. They were the chute and deep snow kings for yrs. We all are on 175 G5s now They finally built a stock sled that rips !! Hands down to skidoo.
Deep snow on a yamaha? Did you use a periscope?
@@rubenolaussen6227horsepower.
@ 300 hp lots of track speed. The old Yamahas rip. If you know you know
I’m watching this video while riding
@@rubenolaussen6227you must be new to snowmobiling TURBOED yammies are pure chute monsters period it’s about all they do but they are the king of big deep chutes

These crossover sledding videos are just epic.
Hey Matt, finally made it to Revelstoke for the first time ever from southwest Montana to spend a few days sleddin' up here, been wanting to come for years. Would be super cool to run into you for a minute at the Boulder parking lot just to shake your hand and congratulate you for making the best sledding videos on UA-cam as far as I'm concerned. Living and working in South America nowadays I only get to sled a few weekends a year unfortunately but watching your videos has kept me stoked during the rest of the winter months I miss out on for 3-4 years now, please don't ever stop doing what you do, be safe and keep having fun out there! Cheers
5 years(?) I’ve been watching and I still bob and weave in my chair when you’re in the trees! 😂😂 👍
same!
9:50 Matt waving “hi” to Kyle.
I’ve operated just about every type of machine out there, and I can’t think of much (at least right now) that works an engine harder than a sled in powder-especially when climbing straight-up terrain that most people wouldn’t even consider going down with something strapped to their feet. Congrats on the build, brother. Wild stuff-thanks for sharing the content! 👍
Oh, and going back probably decades, we used to call a 'Mod Sled' a snowmobile with a hopped-up engine. They needed to be rejetted a couple of times during the ride and ran on 108+ octane fuel. These days, sled engines are so advanced that changing things would probably just lose power-or at best, shift it around. So, I’ve got to say, your focus on the weight diet is a great call, not to mention the improvement in how it feels.
I was *initially* going to break your balls about calling it a 'Mod Sled' 😉, but you impressed me. Well done!
Fantastic video. Love to see the 175” mod sled working great and doing what it was intended to do. You’re living the good life. 🙂
I’d get that key figured out before it starts becoming a problem. Great vid. Keep em coming.
makes me think maybe stay Polaris and not go ski doo?!
Matt, I’m sure you already thought of this but you could put a powder valve like a stock air box that opens up with suction when the hood vents are open. Great build, thank you for pushing the limits with this sled
That "LT 175" is a beast!!!👏👏👏👏
another amazing video from the best. Thanks Matt. People can try to copy your style but it won't happen. IMO when you narrate your snowmobile it's natural and not annoying 👍👍🏆
Glad you got a 175. The zones you ride... deep days. Why would you ride any other sled. Nimble and playful. Go anywhere. Have fun doing a million bo ties on 154 trying to climb out of 1 drainage. Go anywhere with a ear to ear grin
Nimble and playful compared to what? A school bus?
9:50 was freaking hilarious 😂😂😂
Super Cool! Gotta love the pure motor abuse! Woot woot!
The creek draw rodeo shenanigans was bestest here!
Thanks for sharing another!🤘🍻
That thing seems to be working as designed…”I’m gonna go do sketchy stuff”… loved it
Any video with KP is great! He is so fun to watch!
16:30 the snowfro is bad for weight savings 😂
2 lbs of snow on my neck is a lot 😂 it balances out the go pro on my visor though
i love watching you on this sled holy shit this thing rips please make more 175 videos
One reason I really like my old 95 polaris xlt, heated foot boards, and i have absolutely no trouble keeping it cool with the large coolers under the rails.
Man, you can just wander anywhere on that beast, Be prepared to keep up on the maintenance and possible upgrades for it because I can see a very deep year for you in Revi.
It looks so beautiful up there!! 😀
I just love the 175 build! ❤ Keep it up, bud.
Something about watching this sled is so fun, idk if it’s the capability, or the arrogance that comes with it 😂, but it’s been awesome, I hope we get to see lots more this year!
i can tell i watch to much cleetus because im wating for you to say: thanks for watching do it for dale an we'll see ya later at the end lol you should bring him up to ride be pretty cool to see him up there out of his comfort zone
Lol here I am after the eagle video. Probably off to vice grip garage after this. Do it for Dale!
Another great video. Nice to see your custom home built sled is running good.a small snow flap that is removable might help keep it cooler on the trail
Yes this works, i have done this on my mod sled, then I just leave the flap with the Gas can stash.
bro been watching for a few months and wow im in love with those machines. Great vid
That mod sleds badass 💯👌Halfway Oregon had some good snow ❄️ the last few weeks ends
From France, i m looking for this video ! Congratulation
Faites-vous de la motoneige en France?
Non, c'est interdit, uniquement réservé en station de ski. Je ne peux que rouler en quad POLARIS
@@Davy_74 What interdit??
And you where do you live ? To practice skidoo sled
@@Davy_74 Intéressant! Je vis au Canada, Québec. Ici il y a des milliers de km de chantier ou des zones quasi infini de hors sentier pour faire de la motoneige.
its a thing of beauty when muskokas on duty!!!
That sled is so freakin impressive! And it’s stock power which is nuts.
Drop 90 lbs off any sled and it's gonna feel like a rocket ship compared to stock
Now slap a tune on it
Favorite video of the year so far! Awesome content
My favorite channel to watch..absolutely love your content man!!
This sled is insane. Well done man
That thing is a beast!!
this sled build is seriously inspiring! One bad larry!!
Matt’s got the best videos
That thing is a damn weapon, man! Good work!
What a machine you have made!!!!
Cool snow, and very good snowmobile!
Dude you got Aaron Leyland out there? freakin sick. Time for a whole film!? Love the 175 Matt, looked like an epic day.
That thing is an absolute beast! It just pulls and pulls!
Always a good day when Skoka Matt posts!!!!Lets gooooooo!!
16:28 the roost layer on the back of the helmet is great
I haven't had 150 something since 07 M8. Went and rode with The Krazy Canadian, Dan Davidoff (RIP) in 08, in the Norns, and struggled following his 08 162 M8. Decided I'm I'm not good enough for a shorter track, especially when it's deep.
If they’re up your ass with that big of a track n light weight sled you got to do some clutching, bro.. Love all your content. Born n raised in Alaska, riding sleds and you fill my void of the sounds and imagines, i once enjoyed. Keep producing great footage. Stay safe, everyone.
I was thinking the same thing but best I could tell they were track poaching pretty hard too.
They were not up his ass when it got steep and deep, there was no comparison, the light weight 175 dominated, and the thing is not even clutched or geared for that track yet. It will be a real beast once he gets it clutched, geared and an Av Gas 100LL tune.
@@brennenhorn3981they were and had to
They were up to their asses stuck even when poaching the track😂
Things a monster!!!!
the mod sled vids are the best
I’m liking the new camera the shots of u riding are sweet🤟
Wow, you really got the shots, their brother. love the mod sled🎉🎉
Gotta love point an shoot
Turn out to be great shots. Wow
That sled is a beast!!!!!!
Guys your so lucky to do what you do .. love the video s
Matt you need to take that beast to Buena Vista and ride with Burandt
It's a Doo, Burandt sponsored by Polaris, so it would never be on film. Sorry to say.
I think Burandt should come up !!
Wild video! Thanks for the great content
Love the sled man
Excited to watch after I gat of work in 3 hrs
That sled is a F&*king cheat code.. good stuff bud 😂
Oh my gosh that looks like a ton of fun
😂, at 8: ...nice moove
Best channel!
Just got to Revelstoke and I have a 146. I’m so cooked
you can do cabin laps on the groomed trail
Best vid of the day🎉
21:10 ish .. looks soooooo smooth
Let’s goo! I have family heading out there to Revvy next month skiing/sleddin wish I was there!
Even on GoPro she looks insane brother
"you had to say that" 🤣🤣🤣
That build is so badass Matt Gees Louis i need to go ride with you bro
yesss!!! finally vid
Afternoon vids now? Probably better for the algorithm. I enjoyed the morning vids with coffee but afternoon cold snack work too
I know the sled is a freshly new built mod and expensive, if u find a large steep hill like the one at 23:30 but make sure there's no trees around and if u make it up easy, could u let (guy's u trust an know if they broke something they'd pay for it) others try it with their sleds and then let them try with ur sled and u also try it with their sled. Make sure the hill is wide enough that way everyone has an untouched area where the snows not packed down, lets see how much is the machine and how much is from the operator. Keep on shredding and stay safe
All the guys from today were professional hill climb racers if that’s tells you anything
@@MuskokaFreerideryeah i dont think they ran out of talent 😂
Love watching your videos. Personally, I would appreciate some more avalanche safety talk like the beginning of the video. I think it benefits everyone to be more aware and ride safer. Just hearing your morning avalanche safety brief would help the community as a whole, IE avy danger level and make a quick brief of your plan.
hey Matt so what's your plan for night parking-lot arrivals with no headlight in the hood... a headlamp?
Somehow this seems more fun than riding up and down on beat up trails in Southern Ontario 🤷🏻♂️
The fad has gone to shorter tracks again but I gotta say in the deep, pretty hard to beat a 174/175
That Doo RIPPPPPS!!!!
Super cool to see you riding with some of the Ski-Doo boys! Pretty eye opening to see the 154 sleds hit a wall as soon as they get out of your track. How much do you attribute to the light weight, and how much to the 175 track?
I think the extra short tunnel makes a big difference as well in ejecting the snow and not robbing any power.
Love the machine
Should put a reverse hood scoop on the intake. All the snow and moisture getting sucked into the engine isnt good.
Aaron's filming quality is insane
Great vid 👌
I miss mountain riding.

Love your product!!!
Pay this man to ride Skidoo and give his opinion on his channel of what’s lacking. Skidoo will crush the market when he has no complaints and tells eceryone how awesome your product is.
Perhaps name a sled after him. The

Feel free to suggest names for the sled here everyone.

lol
Free hat to the winner who comes up with the best nickname for your sled? "Doo the conqueror" That track might be the perfect track to port with 1 1/4" speed holes. Probably shed another 5lbs.
Lets get Jerry up there!
Because that thing climbs anything, its nick name shall be... BILLYGOAT! Thanks for another entertaining vid!
it does need a name

Miss snow like that in Michigan...
So light and fluffy compared to what we get in Nor Cal.

That sled is unreal in the deep! Isn't there a way to program the PCM to bypass the DESS? Someone out there must have cracked the software?
Great sled
Really deep.
So with the diet that skidoo is on does it handle as easy as a polaris
