I sang this as a troubled abandoned child thanks to a foster mother who took me to Church whilst I was with her briefly. This morning I woke with this song on my mind. It is a wonderful song that gives our praise to our Lord Jesus Christ.
I can identify with you. Some parents do not know how to parent , and are incapable of being so. My father an ex Desert 🏜 rat in the Army was suddenly killed on the Railway whilst working on it. As little more than a toddler my world ended , he was a far better dad than my mother was a mother. She lost her mind and never found it again really. But I always had this Scripture in my heart. “When my mother and father forsake me, the Lord Himself will take me up”. He is saying by that I am love bound to never forsake My Duty of Care towards you. Even though externally it doesn’t seem that way, because wolves ravage the unprotected . But it’s like the Poem Footprints in the Sand - the times you could not walk on any longer were the times He carried you. Yes I too sang this song in Sunday School along with Jesus loves me yes I know for the Bible tells me so, little ones to Him belong we are weak but He is strong … The Book of Peter and James says we suffer so that we can identify with and on behalf of others. The Lord must have Called or is Calling you to Care for all the uncared for children.
I had a really bad night --I am chronically ill. These old hymns of faith brings me back to my childhood and when I accepted Jesus as my Savior. I strayed for a while, but if you belong to God, He never lets go of you!!! I am 61 now and still have severe Lupus--36 years. Serving Him is the greatest thing in the world.
The Lord never gives 🙏 up on us! I strayed at 14 At 24 was in car crash disaster near death ...unharmed ..saved...back in church next day Sunday morning I came home again! The Prodigal son
This story is beautiful, it silences my fears. Nothing surpasses the beauty of a man walking with Christ. The world will not swallow me for there is greater glory in Jesus. Thank you for the upload.
As I listened to this beautiful old songs - one of my Nana's favourites - I was reminded of the Apostle Paul's words: 2 Corinthians 9:15 "Thanks be unto God for his indescribable gift." - as it says in the Gospel of John - "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son......."

I learned this when I was 4 years old. I love it every time I hear it, as if it was my first time. I am drawn closer to the Lord every time I hear it and sing it.....remember I'm the sinner whom Jesus came to save!
How can we who have experienced the incredible riches of His grace and mercy in Jesus Christ poured out abundantly on us ever grow weary of being told the old old story? After all even as this old song tells us we need to be reminded of this all the time as our memories are short and our existence in this world causes us to lose sight of the work of our Lord and Master who bled, suffered and died in our stead that we may have life and life abundantly and eternal life.
I have been listening to this song, but never enjoyed it as today, in my prayer today our lord JESUS CHRIST gives it to me as my daily bread from above, as flesh carcass, the story of the LOVE of our lord JESUS CHRIST for me and for all that has received it, it has no end, the LOVE of God through JESUS CHRIST our lord. Thank you JESUS CHRIST.
Want this lovely hymn played when I part this fleeting life, oh to see jesus' altogether lovely face along with all his blood bought family. Sins against our holy God, sins against his righteous laws, sins against his truth and blood sins against his name and cause, sins immense as is the sea from them all he cleansers me . Amen and amen
