This a T Door Nature hike updated version is a D shape door and they also changed the clips that attach to Poles they twist on now instead of snapping on one side. Still has same problem concerning the trapping of door when opening. Mainly caused by the inner attachment stretching the shape of the door making zip stall. It also sometimes snagg on the door zip cover.
heard about the kazoo venus and looked on amazon. I already purchased and used the cloud peak 2 and held up in 35mph winds and rain and was dry and the tent was stable. thanks for the comparisons. At least I know the different materials .

Good comparison! I think you can see the price difference in the materials and workmanship. I'd definitely go for the Cloud Peak even if I was strapped for cash and had to save a bit longer. False economy if your £49 ends up in landfill after a couple of uses. All the best!👍

I watched this,because the cloud peak is supposed to be a copy of the Hillaberg,so the kazoo is a copy of the copy? Anyway,I couldn't find the £49 kazoo,the kazoos I found were similar price to the cloud peak.
Brilliant video and attention to detail, spotted loads that I would have missed. The two tents are probably from the same factory, new workers would learn the ropes making the Kazoo before graduating to the Naturehike line once their work is higher quality. £50 though... can't see it staying that price for long (Naturehike is about ~£170 on Amazon when in stock) probably be £75-£100 by Spring. Get yourself signed up for the Amazon affiliate scheme and drop links to kit in the video descriptions, not going to be loads of money but enough for a few pints hopefully 👍

Honestly mate, I wanted the world to open up and swallow me, I was half debating swerving the video all together 😂😂 Yea I think if you can get your head around having to seam seal it (there's a lot of seems), then its a fun tent to own, consider it like a classic car, it will require tlc from time to time 😉 👍
I just got the cloud peak but the inner doors just drop to the floor, they don't open sideways. So this vid might be useful for me to check the quality of the rest of it as they've changed at least one thing lately it seems. Cheers.
Hi Chris, someone commented last week to say they received a different version to mine, his was taped and he also got the same pegs as you get with the cloudpeak 🤷♂️ mines deffiently not taped seams, it would seem there's a few different versions floating around. Absoloute bargain for £45 either way

I liked the way you compared the poles, stitching etc. The Nature Hike is certainly the one for longevity I would say, I would of purchased one if I hadn't recently got an MSR Elixir 1. Absolutely fascinating, Its a very different world over in China with the're copyright laws!! Got to think that by the time the manufacturers and retailer have had a slice out of that price they probably make that tent for about £15. Might be worth getting one of those if for nothing else other than just having a spare inner and set of poles for the Cloudpeak. Great bit of filming there, like all the different angles and close ups.

Nice video Shaun, (shame about the sound quality in places but hey ho). A good comparison of the two nonetheless. I already use a Cloud Peak and having just received a Kazzo Venus (I was curios to compare them also lol). I think Kazoo may have been listening to you and your video my friend, because on the Kazoo Venus I have just received: 1. The seams are taped now. 2. The pegs are Kazoo branded Y beam pegs, pretty much identical to the Stoic pegs you showed. Though they are black which we all know leads to many a lost peg lol. That said they have dayglo loops on them also. 3. I agree the poles are identical, I've weigh and measured both the Venus and Cloud Peak poles and there is zero difference between them. 4. The Venus was only £45.80 on Amazon and the Cloud Peak is currently £175. I know they can both be imported for less but I'm basing on UK ease of purchase. 5. The quality is quite reasonable on the Venus compared to what you show in your video. Its not Naturehike standard but still reasonable. I agree the key differences between the two is the material and the quality control. Which is obviously indicative in the price difference. Would I use the Venus? Absolutely! Probably not in winter or severe conditions. My Cloud Peak serves me very well for 4 seasons work but I would guess the Venus material would start to fail during prolonged severe conditions. I do wonder if Kazoo are a budget brand of the Naturehike group company as several of the products are "suspiciously" similar. As soon as we are all allowed out to play again I am going to do a proper comparison of the Venus as I do think it would be a great tent for the more fair weather wild camper or those on a budget. It does appear that improvements are being made in the Venus and considering how quickly the Venus sold out on Amazon following your video, there are several others wild campers out there that were as curious as I was lol. A couple of things I'd like to mention/add: first the single zip is a disadvantage on hot summer nights, but also worth looking at the zip itself to see if either are branded or just locally sourced. 2nd, although the poles look identical there is nothing to say they are the same grade of aluminium. Obviously very difficult to tell. 3rd and the biggest no for me is the seam sealing, properly sealing them would be a real pain and expensive. I'd have to disagree with you on the bargain, I think that it's a bit of a pig in pke tbh. I agree almost certainly same factory, the other possible price variation (as I don't know where you bought your other) is retail mark-up vs direct purchase. Having said all that, nice video buddy 👍
@@Il_II_lI the aluminium is aircraft grade. I had my old-version Cloud-Up 2 side-on in an exposed storm. The entire tent flattened, and when the winds died it sprang back up. Very springy stuff. Very resilient.
Cool video Shaun.. are the poles made out of the same metal and same quality metal too, even tho they look the same? Interesting to see these videos as watched Paul Messners with the CP2 and Hilleberg Soulo, now I know thats jumping up levels but they look 'the same', but when he describes things going round, so much different lol. You can definitely see the difference in quality from the two think id rather spend the extra on the NH. Real good comparison mate and think you will definitely have helped people make the right choice here if they think saving money was a good option. Yes exactly the same poles mate, 7001 alu. Its uncanny. Someone commented that will be made in the same factory, they'll have 2 lines, one with less experienced people making the kazoo, and the other with more experienced people making the CP2, its an interesting theory. They've got to be made in the same factory, all of the panels are exactly the same dimensions! 😂😂

Superb mate, I used it all over the country last year for mountain camping in tents, or woodland camping in hammocks. I had its first bath and re-treatment the other day and its as good as new 🙂👍

I checked stiching it is all tape sealed just hard to see looks good. Had it out in a week of snow heavy rain and no leaks, great for £45.

The Naturehike Cloudpeak 2 is a clone of the Hilleberg Allak 2. Alas, so is the Kazoo Venus tent. The Naturehike is not the original. :))

Interesting to see these videos as watched Paul Messners with the CP2 and Hilleberg Soulo, now I know thats jumping up levels but they look 'the same', but when he describes things going round, so much different lol.
You can definitely see the difference in quality from the two think id rather spend the extra on the NH.
Real good comparison mate and think you will definitely have helped people make the right choice here if they think saving money was a good option. But maybe not in the long run depending what they want the tent for. Bang on tent for £50 tho 💪🏼

Yes exactly the same poles mate, 7001 alu. Its uncanny. Someone commented that will be made in the same factory, they'll have 2 lines, one with less experienced people making the kazoo, and the other with more experienced people making the CP2, its an interesting theory. They've got to be made in the same factory, all of the panels are exactly the same dimensions! 😂😂

Being serious tho dunno about two lines if they were made in the same factory it would be way more cost effective to have the cheapest and most expensive models go down the same line just use less expensive parts which will be sequenced anyway. Same as a car manufacturing... definitely looks like they're made together tho for sure and if they're both made in China, they probably are 😆😁👌🏻

Now everyone can do a faceplant on the trip wire of doom after a few pints on the mountain! Poor people(Kazoo) , Middle class (Naturehike) and Richy riches(Hilderburg). Regardless of income we all faceplant the same into the mud and rock from those darned trip wires! I really gotta chop that evil cord off mine. You should to! xD

Superb mate, I used it all over the country last year for mountain camping in tents, or woodland camping in hammocks. I had its first bath and re-treatment the other day and its as good as new 🙂👍

I’ve chosen the exos because of the softer hip belt so good to here
I’ve herd very few bad reviews on it

The Kazoo looks like one would wake up in 3cms of water if it rained.
