That guardian by the bomb shrine was so scary. My heart was racing just by seeing it from a first person perspective. I completely understand the Hyruleans' fear of these machines, especially thinking they were supposed to be on our side against Ganon
"This thing would weight 300lbs in real life, but because I'm in VR it weighs nothing and I absolutely love that" - this quote will not age well when we have load introduced to VR and everyone is excited to feel things in VR. Whenever that may be.
Realistically, you would have to wear some sort of VR suit that encompasses your legs and forearms and would restrict muscles when attempting to pick something up far too heavy for your character level, and things like that would actually be a very weird legal and moral line to cross. For instance if the game acts as if you are picking up something too heavy and greatly restricts you from doing so, even when you aren't doing anything to trigger that, so it could glitch out on you and cause physical pain/discomfort. Without signing some legal documents and laws regarding Physical Force Resistance in VR, this would get messy fast. And what ever would those laws and legalities include even? What exactly is crossing the line when you have given consent for a game to glitch out and cause you physical harm or discomfort? See the problem? And it is not like we don't have this technology. They just can't release something like that to the public at this point in time. You'd have to make something yourself and program it to respond the way you would want it to.
Regarding the room at the end of the video, it actually is a place in the original game. There is a DLC quest called the Trial Of The Sword where you do various combat challenges, which upgrades the Master Sword’s base damage. There are 3 segments of challenges and you enter the room at the end of each segment.

I would buy a VR if Nintendo decided to make BOTW and (and Age of Calamity; think about the chaos that would ensue) in VR mode. Can you imagine seeing enemies running at you from Link's perspective? Paragliding through the skies? This would be so cool!
They did actually add a LaboVR mode. Obviously the resolution, framerate and tracking are rubbish, and unfortunately they just made you float behind Link so it doesn't have the same level of immersion you would get in first person. If anything you'll get sick from the camera swinging around

Thank you very much for showing this, it looks great and I didn't know about its existance. With that said, some things you say made me scratch my head pretty hard. Finishing the great plateau without noticing the apple trees is quite hard when you need to cook to survive cold temperatures for the shrine in the mountain. The alternative to cooking is grabbing the garment that is inside the shack that apparently you didn't notice either during your first run. You either have pretty bad memory or you haven't played the original game at all...
When I originally played I noticed some apple trees, but not those ones. Every time I've played the great plateau, I grab a few apples and mushrooms, and that's enough to get me to the shrine. I just never explored that specific area
