Rabindranath Tagore composed this beautiful song for his dance drama "Kalmrigaya".
Inspired by a Scottish song " Ye Banks and Braes" by Robert Burns, Tagore created "Phule phule dhole dhole" in 1882 at the age of 21.

She is excellent. For some reason I sense a little of Dr. Chitralekha Chowdhury. Is it because she is trained in Shantinekaton and possibly Chitraleka was her teacher? Thanks if you know the answers. Dr. Ajit Thakur (USA)

Many thanks for your comments. We are all gratified. Nandini Mukherjee is my mother. I replied on her behalf to your earlier comment on Shanti koro Borishono. My mother learnt Rabindrasangeet very briefly (1976-78) from Amar Lahiri. Thereafter she is completely self taught. She has developed her own style and interpretation of notations over many years of thought and practice. She has no connection with Shantiniketan.
Thanks for satisfying my curiosity. I am sure you and your mother have heard Chitralekha's records. She is still active. Her daughter also sings. You would know her mother was Chitraneva, one of Gurudev's favorite artists (painting and sculpture). Her father was our mathematics teacher in classes 9 and 10 (1955-'56) at the Town School in Kolkata (then Calcutta!). The entire family is beautiful. Your mother is a very special singer. The Rabindrasangeets I heard on UA-cam by her all come to life with her. Please give her my thanks and regards. . @@simantinimukherjee4695
