Railroad Collections at the Minnesota Historical Society

  • Minnesota has a vast railroad history, both as a gateway to the Pacific Northwest and as home to several major railroad companies. The Society's collections document this legacy through artifacts used on the railroads, and through the corporate papers of the Great Northern, the Northern Pacific, the Soo Line and others. Curator Matt Anderson and Reference Librarian Hamp Smith take a closer look at these collections.

    I was always more excited to visit the minnehaha station than to visit the falls.

    went on the railroad tour at mill city museum. pretty cool

    Ihink you meant it was a uniform from The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific. That cap was from the early '70s by the way.

    The Milwaukee left a big mark in MN, the least narrator could do is say the name right.
