This has to be the coolest tuner ever. As a matter of fact, it's probably the only cool tuner. We all need them but they are more tools than items of our desire. Well, this might change now.

Cheers,

What a nice tuner! Supercool that screensaver mode.
For now i'm really happy with my Polytune Mini 3. The strobe mode is great and i love the possibility of the always on/mute mode
Very cool tuner!!!
Hahaha - laughed out loud watching the intro! 😂
And a nice demo after - as always! 👍
Thanks a lot man! As soon as I heard that you can upload pictures onto the pedal, this silly story was born in my head. 😅
*The intro was great!*
Very cool!
Cool looking tuner! The opening is hilarious. “Practice you lazy bastard!” 😂🤣 I tell myself that from time to time. That is a very fast tuner!
Now this is tuner pedal, that really gets me going.
Not only for the cool factor, but also how fast it is 👌👍
Yeah it’s the same for me. I wouldn’t want it only for the fun features. But the thing with the screen ON TOP of the killer useful stuff, that’s awesome. 👌
I just grabbed one even though I have the Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner Pedal. I want large letters to scream at my face during a live gig
Buffers also lower noise, since it basically converts your passive signal to an active one. I had an amp tech from Phil Jones explain that to me as I was having noise issues with my signal chain.
Interesting tuner. Am using a Boss TU-2 or the one on my multi fx
More passive aggressive thing is all we need 😆
That's a very interesting tuner. The way it allows to create a personalized interface, really makes it a great piece of gear.
I had a couple of tuners, presently there's a PolyTune 3 in my pedalboard which is great. But this one is very clear to read.
This said, I'm also looking for one that can show the frequency in Hz aside the notes. There's plenty of tuner apps that can do this, but I can't find any physical one doing this. Any suggestions?
Next level stuff Kris... now if only there was a tuner that automatically kept your guitar in tune all the time...🤔...wait... didn't Gibson try that? This one seems to do everything you'd want a tuner to do...and more! 😎🤘🎸🐦
1:34 okay this is cool
Finally someone who tests this with a low B of a bass. That always is problematic. Event the TC polytune has problems with that (at least mine). That's why I use now Peterson's tuner pedal for bass while use the TC just for guitar.
This was a much more measured review than some of the over the top videos suggesting it's "exciting" and.... wait for it... "game changing." I'm sure it's a fine product, but there's nothing here that would make me switch from a Peterson StroboStomp or even the TCE Polytune. If folks feel like they "need" a horizontal display, or to display a picture of their cat,/YT channel logo, or if someone doesn't have a good tuner, I guess there's value there, if this ultimately proves to be well made and reliable pedal. Personally, i'm not giving up Peterson's sweetened tunings, crazy fast performance, and longstanding bar setting reliability or accuracy, to put a picture of my dog on my board. I mean... I can put an actual picture of my dog on my board without switching tuners. I get why you, or any other content creator, is willing to be part of these coordinated campaigns and don't begrudge folks getting paid or free product. I just feel like Walrus went to an eyeball assaulting level of coordination on this rollout. I understand many companies are leaning into the Fenderesque social media inundation, but it's gotten to be a little much. Many of us watch all the big guitar gear channels and a lot of smaller ones. When 20 channels post on the same product in a week i'm less inclined to buy than if there is an organic end user excitement for a product, that develops over time.
Wait, crazy fast and Strobostomp (HD I assume) in the same sentence? Nah dude, you misspelled "Turbo Tuner" which eats cheap chinese crap like Strobostomp for breakfast and actually switches on and off instantly, and grabs on the notes WAY faster than that chinese phone larping as a strobe tuner. Walrus tuner? Oh well, at least it has instant switching, unlike Peterson.
I have a Peterson stober and the Walrus smokes it.
👍🏻
Does it have user programmable tuning offsets?
👍🏿🤘
Just set it up on my pedal board. In my case, using an mxr power supply that supposedly are isolated feeds: this pedal is slightly noisy. I
I tried my old Ispot series and of course it was worse.
I hooked up a completely separate 9v power supply and it worked fine. Bummer for me. I don't want to go through the hassle of having to set this up with it's own power supply. Not worth it. I'll go back to Boss. (found another video that had the same problem.
one thing i wanna know: there is apparently no tune presets ( e.g. 1/2 tone down, dropped D, open G ) as well what if i wanna tune each string by cent
There are absolutely tune presets for drop D, etc.
i need a tuner shows cents. i use taylor tuning regularly. Can canvas pull that off ??
It can be set to tune with a 2 cent accuracy. Which means that it only shows that you're in tune if you're +/- 2 cents accurate. That is super precise and definitely enough for even recording in a studio. But it doesn't show the cents as numbers if that's what you're asking. Cheers!
@@KrisBarocsi thank you
SOLD!!
Thanks a lot for making me pass on the Strobostomp... Kris 🙄
No, seriously. Thanks for testing tuning speed. This is mostly what matters besides precision, really.🤘
why doesn't do all strings tuning at the same time like TC tuners? I just can't imagine swap my polytune for a tuner that doesn't do that.
Hey, that's really interesting. Even though the polytuning of the Polytune is a fun feature I never actually use it on my TC pedal. It works but it's not as accurate as tuning the strings one by one and when I tune I wanna be in tune as much as I can so that I don't have to tune again in a few minutes.
I'm glad to hear that you use that feature and it tunes well enough for you. Cheers
@@KrisBarocsi yeah I use the polytune to get super quickly in the right ballpark all the strings, or to know what string is wrong. then I tune single string if I need it. I can assure you that especially live doing a quick strum to know where you at it's unparalleled useful. thanks for your reply, cheers.
Bahahaha what a great video
Thanks buddy!
@@KrisBarocsi no thank you man! 🙏 I grabbed this pedal too. It’s bonkers what you can do with it , and you can tune your guitar if you want 😂👍
isch liebe disch
Can I watch UA-cam-Videos with it? 😁
Isn't the screen too delicate ?
It feels really sturdy. I mean every tuner has a screen, most are pretty big so this is not new or any different than those. 👍 It’s just coloured so it’s cooler, haha!
Tuner overkill. I wouldn't want this distracting piece of nonsense using up prime real estate on my pedal board. I get it that it has all the tricky gadgets and adjustable lighting, but the brightness of LED's and screens on a board have been an issue of distraction for a lot of players I encounter. The colors are all out horrendous, but you were interesting promoting it. Rock on and stay tuned.
If it only gave electro shocks to my bass player each time i am out of tune...
I’m afraid you’ll have to keep on doing that manually 😆
@@KrisBarocsi just to proof if I'm wrong or right I ordered this thing already on Friday at T 🤓
A 300 mA tuner? No thanks. I love the other Canvas products from Walrus Audio, but this draws way too much current.
I’m fine
Nothing passive about this thing. Just what I need in my life, one more entity to nag me...
OK this is a cool little box
But you still need a smartphone to make it yell at you ... so ... no AI
Me has to wait until the 3.1 version with real AI power on board is offered ...
It has to correct all me notes and arrange 'em in accurate order ...
-> it should do the job 4 me
