Stijn is in this video! I rode with him last year in a race,he is so good at riding. Hope him recover soon ❤️🩹 I rode here once last year,it’s so beautiful.Unfortunately, this route was destroyed by an earthquake this year…
Tawain KOM 2024 - (new route up from Yilan) abandoned after 20km due to bad weather and landslides. I hope to come back and do the ride up from either route but also hope Taroko re-opens for the event.
Apart from scenic route, this video gives good advice for long high mountain climb especially over 2000 meters above sea level. It's a coincidence that Da Yuling at 2565 meters is the same highest point of Thailand's highest mountain, Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai, which also has an annual climb at 48 km in February. 2024 Doi Inthanon Challenge is the 15th edition.
Very nice cycling stories and nice content.. we cycle here in cebu phil too and cycling is very nice.. keep on pedaling and u guys ride safe.. God bless us all..
Natalie's saddle height is too high. This comes from a cyclist with 45 years experience, semi pro racing and work on the industry for 30+ years working in engineering environment for major brands in the cycling industry. I'd hate to see her have knee issues due to a improperly fit bike.
@stevenfairchild8477 yeah I agree she is having to toe pedal to compensate. Putting lots of strain on her knee. I'm trained by trek on bike fit. I've done the climb twice. Once from yilan luodong unsupported. Took us 13 hours as the vertical time was more than 4000m that way. Then the normal KOM route about 6 years ago. Yes the last 10km is a killer.
Well done team! Hopefully, one day I'll get a chance to test myself like you all did, excellent challenge!

A wild Ollie appears 3:00.
I'm just do happy they were able to clear Taroko so the KOM could continue this year
the route was up from Yilan this year (2024) - different route. Taroko Gorge not clear.
@@global_nomad. Ahhh that's unfortunate
They fix the road after the earthquake and now back to normal?
May I know if the route to Wuling from the East is still accessible after the 403 quake?
Yes
@@cheelyeyung The geographical location is very unstable. As long as it rains, the roads will be damaged.
No! Not yet. Not safe for cycling
Seruuuu
