Honestly, what would we do without Zach? The only interviewer who has taken BTS seriously as the artists, sentient beings, creators they are, and has done his research, educated himself and asked intelligent respectful questions. Thank you, Zach.
what makes him stand out is early on he said that the Korean lyrics were important/added to their songs, in response to that guy on his show from Forever on my Mind that was saying such racial Eurocentric stuff and being totally condescending towards BTS
Those things are done after the person dies. Like with Michael Jackson. Now that he is decased music departments at universities have courses where they study MJ's ways of creating music. He never wrote his music on paper. The songs went from his mind to recording. He created the back singing, and he recorded the melody where he could do several instrument sounds at the same time with his mouth and lay down the track. His band would listen to those tracks and figure out the music just by sound. Universities. The same will be with Namjoon. He is great undoubtedly and he will be spoken of just as he is of that Korean painter.💜
This interview feels exactly like that documentary, only much better because they are very similar young men in their personal journeys and innate understanding of their age in how Life is impacting them. The language that they have used in this interview has the same robust, yet quietly sensitive music. This has been one of the most completely satisfying and beautiful documentary -- especially with all of RM's artistic references -- that I have ever watched. Thank you so much, Zach. This was amazing! 💜🥰💜
Hello...... 👋 I appreciate you my beloved lady for your likes and comments on my official page, 🎼🎸🎹🎬 I hope you will not stop supporting me 😊❤️🧡 I’m very pleased that all of you have been around all this years of my career I appreciate your support and warm comments I want to say thank you very much 🙏😊 I appreciate you all God bless you 🌹🌹❤❤ How are you? @@lokeirene3236 Thank you very much for supporting me and my career I sincerely appreciate your kindness 🙏💝💝💞💞 How long have you been following me my dear fan??
This is so wholesome. He must have been very stressed being interviewed in his non-native language for over an hour. But Zach since you have been nothing but respectful, I can definitely feel that he felt more at ease hence allowing us to deep dive into his creative process and stories as well. I do appreciate this.
I think it helps that he's talking to a familiar interviewer who he knows will respect him and his art so there's no need to worry about any rude curveball questions or pushing for topics that would make things awkward. Zach has already built that trust there. I'm grateful for that. Interviews are hard enough when speaking in your native language when you can guage tone and culture the best. RM did really well as expected though.
@@Nezumi99 So? Are you another native English speaker who misses our point completely and takes it as an offense? 🙄 He's fluent obviously, but still struggles at times which is very common and completely normal WHEN YOU'RE SPEAKING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE, no matter how fluent you are. It's not a fucking drag.🙄 Explaining your art; music, and the process of making it verbally must be a bit challenging anyway, and even more so in another language. You can see him struggling at times and there's small mistakes, but he still very much makes himself understood and his points come across, and that's partly what fluency is. If you ask Namjoon himself, he'll surely say that interviews in English are a bit more challenging and tiring. He even addresses it in this video. Even if you've lived in an English speaking country as an ESL speaker since you were a child, frankly, you wont quite get it bc you've naturally reached a different kind of fluency.
@@miak4006 English is not my native language, but nice try. My native language is from Slavic family it's not even CLOSE to English. The fuck is your problem? Assuming shits about me
I hope this young man can always find a way/place where he can inspire the world, no matter his age. He is such a gift to humanity. RM's impact on the world, for the good, can be greater than the arts. This 74 year old grandmother is so, so in awe of RM.
I'm 57 years old and feel the same way. He's so amazing and yet so humble and down-to-earth. Wise beyond his years, yet speaks of being still young and having so much to learn.
This 72 year old grandmother agrees!!! When I had to use a walker after a knee surgery to see a concert, the sweet fellow Army yelled ahead"grandmother coming through" to get to my seat. R M is such an eloquent voice in the world.
@@bedazzlejuju I have the feel that these grannies hormones 😉😉😉dont hide they still searching for an intellectual and charming guy Ladies Iam 45years and RM couldn't be more than my little brother And if you still insist on RM being your grandson 🤣🤣🤣 you never have ,just start to look around your neighbourhood I'm sure there are young men like RM who are looking for a grandmother warmth 😉😉😉
@@sivanilloyd6025 I'm also 72. I love every member of BTS - but Namjoon is a truly unique person, so talented, intelligent and poetical! Thanks sooo much for this interview!!!!
Zach, thank you. If ARMYs didn’t know, Zach is one of the few in the interviewing world that has been genuinely kind to them since the start. When BTS just started breaking out in America, he did an interview with them and he was rudely being told to wrap it up because of time. He listened intently anyway and Hobi looked so thankful and that’s just been embedded in my brain since. I can’t wait to SEE this episode 💜. There’s a reason why Joon chose to be on your show.
He's one of few interviewers who truly researches about his guests and asks questions that most interviewers don't ask. He's interested in the music and the process, not the same frivolous questions BTS are always asked. That's why I love Zach's interviews.
That's one of my favourite things about the BTS guys - they always remember the people who were good to them on the way up and take the time to pay back if they can. Having said that - Indigo is an excellent album and RM continues to impress- he's truly a wonderful artist by any measure.
I'll never forget their first meeting in 2017. Through the muck of veiled micro-agressions and xenophobic remarks from other interviewers, along came Zach to save the day, and show them that actually, they're incredible and their art is incredible. And the question about UNICEF 😭 you could see how happy that made them all, that someone actually took the time to do their research. It's so clear why Namjoon said you were the best interviewer he ever met abroad. Thank you so much Zach for your incredible openness and genuineness! 💜
ur reply shud get pinned...it saved my day also as a viewer when zach came in that day to see them so relieved and happy that they were taken seriously for once
Gosh Namjoon.... I seriously need to live my life more passionately. The way he recollects his thoughts and feelings and executes it in his music is truly amazing. He's the best! He's so young yet mature in trying to balance it all, my lifetime role model! Love you Joon!!!!
Right? This whole interview made me think, OMG how have I live my life? Really really good interview , he was passionate and articulate plus Zach was really really good, knew when and what to say
same here, his way of living makes me wanna aprecciate life more, but I don't even know how to begin with we live in such a hurry that emotions and instrospectiveness gets second spot while the urgent matters gets the biggest space in our minds, but that's the catch, what's truly important IS emotions and self awareness, it's discovering about yourself and simply LIVING I hope he knows how he makes us feel, because it's really special the positive impact he has on us
I love how RM speaks like a true artist. You instantly feel inspired, introspective, vulnerable, and appreciative when listening to him speak about his and other’s art.
I want to thank you for your love and support for me and my career 🎼🎸🎹🎬 I hope you will not stop supporting me 😊❤️🧡 I’m very pleased that all of you have been around all this years of my career I appreciate your support and warm comments I want to say thank you very much 🙏😊 I appreciate you all God bless you 🙏🌹🌹🌹❤ Where’re you from?
Who is here in 2024 re-watching this genius, brilliant exchange of thoughts from our leader, Namjoon! The way Zach creates an aura of love, respect, and authenticity is chefs' kiss💜 and the way Joon changes our whole for the better in 40 minutes!
Mostly BTS are the glam , dazzling ones, but RM is truly deep and satisfying to hear speaking. His phrases are so visual and I love his pronunciation. I even loved it when he swore! He’s really conceptualising in another language, and has the humility to say he feels jealousy toward other artists. He has so much to teach us… a truly old soul. Jin was right: he has a beautiful brain.. his UN speech was my gateway drug to BTS and K-pop.. Zach and he have such synergy: they are uncovering truths together. When RM says, “I’m just a Korean”, he IS Korea for me. One day I’ll go there and see those paintings irl. 😊
Zach did a wonderful job of making this more like a conversation than an interview. You can tell that there exists a mutual respect here. RM’s mind is genius and with Zach, who asked the right questions, we are able to understand RM better.
When RM said that he wished people would look into the lyrics more, to know more about him and more about themselves, I felt that. The main reason why I was drawn to BTS was the fact that I could dive deeper and deeper into their music and lyrics and still find something new everytime I listened to the songs afterwards. In the process, I found myself. And I'm still finding myself. Same with this album. I'm actually taking a lot of time going through all the songs cause they keep making me do more research and I'm learning so many new things in so many different aspects. And most importantly, I feel like it's a portal to our genius and kind RM that he opened up to us with so much trust and love. He's truly made a masterpiece
Today on my way back from class, I start playing the whole album again and I was trying to figure out what he meant by "but you are fvckin' contemporary" in Yun, I still don't think I figure it out and my mind kept making up theories, and instances (contemporary: happening, existing, living, or coming into being during the same period.) I can stop asking myself what it means to him or me (this is what his song or BTS song those to me, randomly out of nowhere I remember a bar that fits my situation then) probably that's what art or music are meant to accomplish
BTS's lyrics is 100% the reason I got into them. Would rewatch the Fake Love MV over and over again, not letting myself dive deeper into them because of my experience with wanting to get deeper into jrock but struggling because I couldn't connect how I wanted to because there was never any lyric translations available for any groups, and one day I stumbled on the ability to turn on the English translations for Fake Love when toggling with the settings. Did a deep dive into their music and history immediately after seeing what the song was actually saying and instantly became obsessed with them. Never stopped!
@@adventureinthesea that's so relatable! At first I didn't even know there was this setting and was dying to know the lyrics. Sounds so dumb to me now but I was new to this world after all. But once I did find the option, no one could stop me from diving deeper and deeper into their music and wondering why I wasn't exploring them before thinking they're just another K-pop boy band.
@@mediocre98 There are several websites like doolset bangtan, bangtan subs etc where you can get much better understanding.doolset bangtan is highly recommended, wild flower translation there is just chef's kiss.
hes so wise beyond his years. and so artistic at his age. i hope the world will let him leave a legacy. he's the kind of artist i hope history will remember.
I’m OLD (53) and I admire and learn from Namjoon! I have days I forget and fall, and I watch videos about “ RM being tested by BTS” or “ BTS respect for Namjoon” and it Motivates me to be better. I can reflect and suck it up and go on! Thank you Namjoon for your effort, sacrifice and care! I love you 😘💕❤️ 💜
Namjoon is exactly who I knew he would be. He is so authentic. He feels deeply and has the courage and capacity to explore his thoughts and feelings with endless curiosity.
I am just seeing this interview now. It's amazing! How I wish that any of us could have an opportunity to have a conversation with Namjoon about art, music and how it inspires us. He inspires us!
I just know I will come back to this video many times. I actually feel the urge to make notes, because everything Namjoon says is so insightful and thought-provoking. I love how he touched on many things he never openly talked about before. Thank you, Zach, for being such a good interviewer who has always taken Namjoon and the other members seriously as artists!
Me too, I caught myself talking to myself and my mind started wandering from what he was saying. Like my mind was like: "Well that's a good point" "If I think about that..." "I wonder what that means?" My mind just started wandering, I kept pausing bc I was practically having a conversation with imagination Namjoon. I wish I could speak with RM. I could talk with him for hours and hours and hours
Some people are brought into your life/world sometimes so you can self reflect. Tell me who didnt do a little bit of self reflection after listening to this?❤❤❤❤
Even when speaking in English anyone can see how deep he is. But when he speaks in Korean, he's way more elaborate, precise and articulate...so his thoughts and the way his mind works is more deeply understood. If Zach could speak Korean he would be even more blown away lol.
I do think alot of RM is lost in translation....and even then a non Korean speaking person cannot relate and connect with him and his words....so yes...I can only imagine how much more depth we can gleam if we know his native language.....
Truly though Zach actually looked like he was working and struggling at times to hang on and process everything Namjoon was saying and I 100% understand 🙏
@@House0fHoot This! One of the reasons I want to learn Korean, it's such a beautiful language, and the way they express themselves I would love to be able to understand them.
namjoon is so attractive and handsome when he speaks english, i swear guys. he is much more attractive and beautiful when he talks about his music with such interest and passion.
Don't even know how this popped up in my feed.. I don't know much about RM, besides watching few BTS mvs, but my God what a beautiful human being he is! Kudos to Zach for making RM feel seen and respected as an artist. I'll definitely have to check his album out.
RM is finding and rediscovering himself beyond bts. Fame can be toxic and all the world domination hype. can drown an artist. This interview shows how intelligent and mature he really is.
Zach is a perfect example of a good interviewer. So much respect for the artists, so much respect for the work of the artists, no wonder Joon wanted to be interviewed by him
I can listen to Namjoon all day honestly.. My baby’s grown up now. He’s so in love with his craft, stays true to it, and hopefully never lets fame change him. I love him with all my heart.
I got goosebumps with this interview. Zack as a host is very respectful and listened to it well. Also Namjoon. As an English learner, I adore you a lot. I have been learning English very hard so I become a great speaker like him. And his insight about art that is connected to his album it's very mind-blowing to me...
I can totally relate to RM's feeling of jealousy, cause as someone who recently started writing lyrics, when I listen to songs with genius lyrics, sometimes I'm like why can't I write that, but then it's always a motivation to be consistent and to keep practicing and growing.
I'm 20mins in and all I can think of is how articulate he is and when he explains something, he really makes me imagine what he's talking about, like he really takes us all inside his mind. He's a true storyteller and a genuine artist.
Thank you mom for forcing me to learn English as a second language BECAUSE I CAN UNDERSTAND THIS BEAUTY AS HE PASSIONATELY TALKS ABOUT HIS EXTRAORDINARY NEW ALBUM ㅠㅠ
RM is so articulate and the questions Zach asks are so well thought of and meaningful. This is genuinely one of the best interviews I've seen. Not only does it give insight on the album and it's creative process but also about Namjoon as an artist and as a person. This made my day so much better!!
RM put a lot of hidden meanings in his lyrics. Because of his broader view of the world, a verse can have several significant meanings from Korean culture historic references, to modern sayings, to English word play, to Greek mythology references, and psychological terms and deeper view of the world. Even they title Indigo holds a lot of meaning to RM's cultural heritage. It's powerful. With his words and lyrics he is making us discover a lot about South Korean heritage and discoveries but also traditions. Happy to say that RM over the years has been open to learning about the world that it makes his music so relatable. RM's songs take us on a journey with not just his own history and but that of Tablo's in All Day where Tablo was prayed upon and called a fraud by a hateful group. It destroyed his reputation. Eventually he was able to convict them and send them to prison, but the damage was done. When that was happening, a lot of us watching were enraged. RM not only vets his anger we all felt, but gives Tablo the justified megaphone to call out that jealous cruelty for what it was. Tablo also claps back on RM's challenges. It is a brilliant song that gives long time kpop fans goosebumps and a huge thrill of satisfaction.
this interview is soo satissfying. looking at how namjoon appreciate the art in the museum and seeing his deep perspective . its amazing. Relatable. Even if he's korean, he grew up with American music. Its part of him. Same like me too. I like that hes sensitive of people's feelings. And so freaking articulate. Ughh I'm so envious I wish I could speak my thoughts so eloquently like him too
this album is a MASTERPIECE. I love every single song and I love hearing RM talk about them. I’m so proud of him and I hope he’s proud of himself too ❤ I’ll support you in everything you do. Well done Namjoon 😊
Exactly! When the hook of "Wild Flower" says "Flower works..." being from the country I knew exactly what he meant... we used to pick wild flowers and dismantle the pedals and throw them in the air!!! Indigo is a true masterpiece of RM's beauty, mind, soul and heart!!! It's a gift from him to us. 💙💜💙💜💙
I really enjoyed listening to the album, it has such a vibe that took me back to the 90s. Yun is a special track for me - freshness after the rain, Hermann Hesse, a bar door into which the sunset shines and a walking path home. Pure namjooning💙
I love watching Namjoon talking about his music and album process. He talks freely and happily. His genuine love for his music is incredible. The way he speaks, the way he smiles, and the way he chooses a suitable word to deliver the meaning of each lyric. He is truly a musician, producer, lyricist, a poet.
TOTALLY agree with your korero (comments) Zach is an excellent, insightful, well researched, respectful person and interviewer. Absolutely enjoyed this interview. To be honest, I'd love to listen to a COLLABORATION with RM, SUGA, JHOPE and EMINEM and then WATCH a 'BEHIND the SCENES' DOCO of the PROCESS and then an INTERVIEW by ZACH with them ALL talking about their reasons 'why, what and how' this (My) DREAM COLLABORATION came into happening That's what I RECKON anyway !!! Greetings from; Whanganui Aotearoa/New Zealand
Namjoon is soo intellectual he's soo mature n classical whenever he talks .he is soo honest n real .His album is soo soo deep only few ppl can get the real essence of the album .Love him loads ...shout out to indigo💜
This is the RM I have been wanting to hear. I have been an Army since 2017, he has been my bias since I started listening to BTS and I am ecstatic to witness his art through music. I am always at awe of how articulate Namjoon is. How he finds the right words to say, how eloquent he is yet relatable. It took me two days to finish listening and digesting the album. He clearly looks happier and at peace now.
I dont know if it is practically possible or not but honestly I could listen to namjoon speak for 24 hours straight. I mean just understand my feelings alright? When namjoon starts speaking, You could only hear things like - Wisdom, Knowledge, Intellectuals, Motivation, Inspiration, Healing, Comfort, Belief, Hope, Growth.... I just love him so much. PLEASE ZACH, CALL NAMJOON AGAIN WHEN HE RELEASES HIS ANOTHER ALBUM PLEASE PLEASE
This is such a good interview because it seems so natural and authentic. And you can see that Namjoon is comfortable to just be himself and share his craft. Zach has his way of making interviews just seem like conversations with people, meaningful at that. So, thank you. 💙
Every time I listen to RM speak, I get both contemplative and inspired. I love how he views and describes things. You can just feel his passion and genius whenever he talks of his love for art and music.
I listened to this when it was live. As always with Zach, it's well handled, well conducted and the questions are respectful and excellent. In my opinion, Zach is by far the BEST INTERVIEWER that BTS has ever had.
The interview is inspiring, which gives us the view of RM as an artist about his creation, concept, music muse and creating process. No wonder "Indigo" is full of songs with both interesting, innovative, and profound messages. The melodies are listenable. And the lyrics worth reading and tasting.
He also has a warm, inviting/welcoming tone to his voice. Very calm and tranquil. It's soothing to listen to. Even when he's speaking in Korean and I have no subtitles, I still get comfort from hearing him talk anyways.
I watched this interview when Indigo was released, and today I watched it again. What a special conversation. So thoughtful. Zach was so genuine with his questions, looking to understand RM's process and thoughts, and RM was so honest in sharing his process and thoughts. A beautiful connection between Zach and RM even though they were in different parts of the globe. Indigo, to this day, is my favorite album and I have listened to it many times and it never gets old. A true masterpiece 💜
To me "true beauty is true sadness or sorrow " means when you are like extremely sad or like in some extreme phase of hardwork then the outcome of it is something really beautiful. You know like they say " just like the moon , you need to go through all the phases of emptiness to feel full again , or be bright like moon again ". So whenever you see something truly beautiful, there is a whole story behind it which is full of sadness which people aren't aware of . This is what it means to me. I like RM's reference to the korean painter too.
Im also reminded of the duality of experience - when you love something or experience something beautiful you feel alive and the joy but also theres a profound sadness deep down because there is an awareness of its transitory nature. To love is to also grieve and visa versa. Its something I think about all the time.
when you treat bts with genuine kindness, respect & love, they return it in tenfold. Love that namjoon specifically requested for an interview with Zach & that’s all on Zach’s professionalism & genuine support since day 1 🤍 Thank you Zach for always treating bts well & asking the right questions regarding their music/campaigns and allowing them to go in depth about their work, inspiration & more! I still rewatch all the interviews you did with bts and i’m so happy to see the growth in both bts & you. Wishing you the best of success! Let’s have more in depth interview with bts in future too 🥰
The casual setting, warm atmosphere and great questions from Zack give RM the space to be more comfortable in answering the questions. Indigo is a masterpiece, as a listener I can feel the genuine emotional struggles he has been going through and how much he is trying to be true to himself without losing his essence. RM deserve all the praises cause Indigo (and my personal favourite Wild Flower & No2) are insanely good.
I listened to the live radio show interview and now I can't wait to re-listen in and actually see Namjoon and Zach converse about Indigo! So much more depth and nuance when you can actually see people being interviewed. Thank you again, Zach for be an amazing interviewer!
Love how RM's unfiltered/genuine with his responses. It's like watching 2 close friends talking about their life/inspirations but in interview version haha.

I'm just starting to check out RM's solo work and it caught me off guard when I heard that he was originally gonna call "Wild Flower" as "Flowerworks", cause there's already a song called "Flowerwork" by a k-band named NFlying that was released back in 2019 and it was a hard, rap-rock song with a lot of screamo in it lol. Ofc its not a problem since many songs got the same title, but still, thank god he changed it cuz its gonna be one hell of a confusion, esp for me cuz now both have become some of my favorite songs lol 😂
I loved this interview with Namjoon! Thank you for your genuine interest in BTS over the years and for asking questions that give them the opportunity to share something real. I truly enjoyed hearing Namjoon's thoughts in this one. You're getting a lot of well-deserved praise, Zach. As you should! Thanks again!!
I love the way you take interviews, and go deep into the artistic point of views Zach. Thanks for always being so humble and honest with BTS. This interview with Namjoon was so healing.
It's also interesting how the Japanese kanji for fireworks are the kanjis of flower and fire. I always found the symbolism mesmerizing. It's interesting to see namjoons take on the subject 💕
All of these questions and answers are exactly the kind of genuine & pure interaction artists and fans wish to have. So well done. Joon had so much insight to give. Zach is so perceptive and authentic. This is the kind of interview we've always hoped for. Thankful to them both
Nam is so inspiring, I really look up to him. He inspires me to be better, a better person and makes me want to know more about the world, he makes me see life in a different way. Indigo has become my favorite album, I mean it. Thanks Nam for being you
I started viewing the show then stopped to listen to the whole album, twice, and then came back. Both these young men are mature beyond their years and so humble despite their achievements. It was really nice to look beyond the hype created around the BTS group in general and discover the real personality and thoughts of Kim Namjoon. Thank you for sharing.
Sht this is so brilliant. The questions are so excellent and really connected to the album and the artist. This is so smart and intelligent. No wordddsss.
Just re-watching this because I'm craving a similar conversation about Right people Wrong Place! ... It's always a privilege to listen to RM talk about his art .. I really appreciate it Zach! Thank you for the amazing interview!
I could listen to him all day. Korea is so lucky to have this genius artist. It feels like this album is dedicated to his homeland because I believe he will dominate the world in the future with his English rap songs, filled with meaningful lyrics, while still incorporating Korean rap. This doesn’t change the fact that he loves his homeland the most.
I'm rewatching this interview in 2024. At 43:22 Zach asks RM "Is it hard to make friends?" He adds "Real friends are far and few between" RM says you need the right frequency to be connected as friends. Zach responds that sometimes it ends up to be a bad connection. Their conversation continues in this vein. Now, after listening and analyzing "Domadochi" - this conversation may have foreshadowed the creation of this song. I can see the connection.
This is dream come true moment. As an army watching over 100+ interviews BTS did abroad, Zach's interview was a delight and the only few that really treated BTS music with genuine interest. Since then we the fans have hoped that RM could sit down with Zach to do a "real" interview. Good things come slow sometimes but it's so satisfying to see it all comes together in the right moment in time.
It's really amazes me how he's been preparing for this album years ago and still containing all those wonderful ideas and words till now and adding some more whenever years Passes!!
Every time I come back to this interview, I leave appreciating it even more. Indigo is such a special album. Namjoon is such a special human being. This is such as special interview. I'm so grateful that all our life decisions lead to this moment. No looking back, only forward!
from now on i request zach for interviewing bts members , we are so sick of interviewers being nasty or not takin their work seriously this is the most perfect interview for an album whit such deept as indigo , for bts comeback in 2025 i want you my boy to interview them
I have only recently started listening to kpop, and started listening to bts and rm. I genuinely enjoy their music. But this interview made me a fan. The amount of thought and heart he has put into this is amazing. The way he sees the world is honestly captivating. Everything he is saying just connects to me. When I started the interview and realized it was 50 minutes, I thought I would only watch the first 5 minutes or so, but I actually stayed for the entire 50 minutes. And I am not the type of person to watch interviews for fun; I usually tune out instead of paying attention.
I relate to you completely, when I finally decided to check out Bts on a whim I never would have imagined how entranced I would be. In retrospect now, their music, their selves and most importantly their lyrics have impacted my thoughts in innumerable ways.
"The way he sees the world is honestly captivating." Yes! That word expresses so perfectly what I feel. But it's not only how he sees the world, it's his very way of being in the world. His very being, his very essence just so ... sigh.

Zach I have so much respect for you as an interviewer. You were sincere, genuine, respectful. You listened to Namjoon and asked him meaningful questions. I wish others would be the same. I love RM. He is an incredible artist who deserves to be heard. Thank you Zach.
This interview was incredible I’m so glad they’re broadcasting it. Was such a relief to hear someone ask Namjoon questions about his process and artistry. Indigo and Namjoon deserve all the praise so thank you so much for giving that to him in this tasteful conversation
It's such a great interview! I love how RM was just able to get so much time to explain his thoughts - so real - but also the profound questions and the real effort that you always put into your interviews Zach. BTS sees it and we definitely see it too. Excited for more great interviews in the future too
RM's solo album RIGHT PLACE WRONG PERSON will be released on the 24 May. You can now pre-order the album online. On the 10 May, this week the pre- release single COME BACK TO ME will be released 13.00 KST. It looks like a mini movie. Actor Namjoon coming soon!
Thank you so much Zach for this amazing conversation with Namjoon. Thank you for always treating them with respect and for appreciating their artistry.
i remember the first time you did interview with bts it was such a breathe of fresh air after other interviews! thank you for asking real questions unlike others who only ask things like what's their fav food in each interviews
Hey Zack. Your finess is not lost. I believe everything has a purpose. Im glad you could interview RM like this again. Im 20 years old and these messages are really important to me. RM has helped me a lot as a creative.
I’ve watched this interview several times and it’s been an Absolute joy to listen to! You two together created synergistic magic during this moment in history! Zach, thank you for being so down to earth, refreshing and such a prolific speaker! RM, what can I say….you blow my mind every time I hear you speak! I’m absolutely enamored with BTS, but you offer something absolutely delightful, refreshing, unique, special and Indigo is a downright musical masterpiece! Thank you for keeping me truly inspired! As an avid poet, I’m always looking for the one, who can nourish me with thoughts and sentiments to keep on writing! And you are that one! I’m already looking forward to the next album, but in the meantime, I’ll keep playing Indigo on repeat!! I’m a fan of your musical genius forever!!

RM is too amazing. Such an all round artist. I’m 65 and Indigo has been my favorite album since it was released. I have certain albums that I’ve been listening to since I was a kid, Meet The Beatles, Goodbye Yellowbrick Road and Diamond Dogs. I honestly hadn’t added very many to my all time rotation until Indigo. This is right there with them. Music I need to listen to complete my life. Thank you RM♥️
Honestly, what would we do without Zach? The only interviewer who has taken BTS seriously as the artists, sentient beings, creators they are, and has done his research, educated himself and asked intelligent respectful questions. Thank you, Zach.
not the only but certainly one of the very few
what makes him stand out is early on he said that the Korean lyrics were important/added to their songs, in response to that guy on his show from Forever on my Mind that was saying such racial Eurocentric stuff and being totally condescending towards BTS

G DRAGON THE KING
Those things are done after the person dies.
Like with Michael Jackson. Now that he is decased music departments at universities have courses where they study MJ's ways of creating music. He never wrote his music on paper. The songs went from his mind to recording. He created the back singing, and he recorded the melody where he could do several instrument sounds at the same time with his mouth and lay down the track.
His band would listen to those tracks and figure out the music just by sound.
Universities.
The same will be with Namjoon. He is great undoubtedly and he will be spoken of just as he is of that Korean painter.💜
legit!
HHAHA OMG EXACTLY I NEED PAPERS ON HIM
Bro need a whole Netflix documentary revolving around his geniuses and achievements not only as the leader of BTS but also as a solo artist as RM.

He is LITERALLY fluent in English lol

There’s a reason why Joon chose to be on your show.
it's not about that, most of the interviewers only asked stupid questions like 'who do you want to collab with'
He's one of few interviewers who truly researches about his guests and asks questions that most interviewers don't ask.
Tks for sharing, cos did not know.

I'll never forget their first meeting in 2017. And the question about UNICEF 😭 you could see how happy that made them all, that someone actually took the time to do their research. It's so clear why Namjoon said you were the best interviewer he ever met abroad. Thank you so much Zach for your incredible openness and genuineness! 💜

Yes! July 2024. Never gets old 😊
Mostly BTS are the glam , dazzling ones, but RM is truly deep and satisfying to hear speaking. No.2 is healing
he is my comfort person, his messages always touch my heart
Today on my way back from class, I start playing the whole album again and I was trying to figure out what he meant by "but you are fvckin' contemporary" in Yun, I still don't think I figure it out and my mind kept making up theories, and instances (contemporary: happening, existing, living, or coming into being during the same period.) I can stop asking myself what it means to him or me (this is what his song or BTS song those to me, randomly out of nowhere I remember a bar that fits
my situation then) probably that's what art or music are meant to accomplish

RM's mind is incredible. We're so fortunate to experience his genius. Thank you for another uniquely personal interview, Zach. Army loves you!

RM is so articulate and the questions Zach asks are so well thought of and meaningful. This is genuinely one of the best interviews I've seen. Not only does it give insight on the album and it's creative process but also about Namjoon as an artist and as a person. This made my day so much better!!
100% agree!

Thankful to them both
Namjoon, I'm so proud of you. You've worked so hard. Thank you so much for this masterpiece called "Indigo", you're amazing 💜
Thank you for sharing.
appreciate you!
What an awesomely simple and honest interview!RM seems like the guy next door ,without any pride that one associate s with so much success!
😊

Oh my gosh, his sweet self. Love this interview even more the second time.
I will always admire RM and the way he thinks and lives. He has such a way with words, he really inspires me and my art.
Every time I come back to this interview, I leave appreciating it even more. Indigo is such a special album. Namjoon is such a special human being. This is such as special interview. I'm so grateful that all our life decisions lead to this moment. No looking back, only forward!
from now on i request zach for interviewing bts members , we are so sick of interviewers being nasty or not takin their work seriously this is the most perfect interview for an album whit such deept as indigo , for bts comeback in 2025 i want you my boy to interview them
Super late to the party but the more I learn about RM, the more I'm in awe at how multifaceted he is. Swwooooooooon
His very being, his very essence just so ... sigh.

RM is so calm and easy-going. He sounds really relaxed in English interviews. He was very expressive and that’s what makes RM, RM.

The album Indigo is so deep and quite enjyable as well. You konw it's never easy contain both in one work. Each song represents his growth through the difficulties and egony. For me, RM is the most intelligent, chaming young man in our era. Thank you Jack for the elaborated interview.
I love this interview! The Host Zack listens well and does not interrupt, and love how he goes into deep ask RM personal and profound questions awesome 👏🏻 i love how he asked about each title of the song in the album and the stories behind it!
