This feature alone has saved me so many headaches (and patchcables).
Couldn't agree more ;-)
We need more videos about TotalMix FX Settings too, properly setup entire settings explenation as well routing and microphone chanel signal setup
Anything in particular apart from mic setups?
@@RMEAudio for example i setup my new Condenser microphone on 48v and my signal shows only the left chanel when is active also by recording, can be also signal on L and R chanel as well or it is correct like that the green peaks only on L?
That is correct, since your microphone is a mono source. Check out our video about mono channels for a better understanding. :)
@@RMEAudio I am still having problems sending signal to my outboard gear. I always get a wierd hollow feedback sound.
@@RMEAudio also i have problems when i want to activate my Headphones and if want to compare something to switch quickly from Monitors and Headphones, if you can make explanation about routing Headphones and recieving signal at same time on Monitors as well and how to save that to stay as permanent setup🙏😊
This feature is sooo useful for running system audio through VST plugins! Imagine, reference sound, all the time, outside and inside your DAW (so you can get used to it)! routing:
system audio -> SPDIF out -> loopback to SPDIF in -> Blue Cat Patchwork (Math Audio RoomEQ/EQ for headphones + Ircams HRTF) -> analog out 1+2
since RME interfaces have low latency and CPU overhead due to good drivers, there basically is no drawback.
Thank you RME!
Thank you :-)
Just Equalizer APO to have Math Audio Room EQ systemwide available. I use that all the time. Downside is that no ASIO applications are supported. Those you can host in Cantabile light and there have the audio go to the Mathaudio VST. I use that also for SPDIF input (CD) to filter it through MathAudio.
Thanks! Finally able to use my studio-mics for Videocalls, thanks to this
Glad we can help you :-)
It does come in handy for recording stuff off the internet.
Indeed ;-)
Could you detail the recording in a DAW - REAPER preferably ? I want to see the Reaper's Routing Matrix, and other recording settings on the Record track. Thanks.
Love this feature, although I'm curious as to why the level on the mic is higher than what the loopback channel shows (usually like 3db difference). I see this on my own system as well.
Summed from stereo to mono = louder on meter
@@everope since I've made my comment I've learned this, haha! Thank you though!
Can programs like Audacity or Windows audio mixer in general see the loopback channel? Because of my workflow, I'll need Windows to "see" the loopedback input channels so I can use them for recording or streaming, Zoom, Audacity, ETC. Thanks!
coool i have an army-interface!!
I record my vocals from the baby face pro lound and clear but after looking into the logic meter it shows that the signal is -25 dB how?
I want to use loopback to route the audio from a microphone connected to my Fireface UFX II to a video call app (Zoom etc.) but Zoom only sees inputs 1&2. Is there a more convenient way to avoid feedback (from the microphone to the monitor speakers) than to switch off the monitors at each call?

Hi, guys, do you know if i can loopback a 14 channel signal? Im using a RME Fireface UC, Thanks!
In french (merci) : Un peu brutale la démo !! J'y ai vu que du feu dans votre loopback. Ça coûte si cher que ça la minute de UA-cam ?
Is there a limit on the number of loopback channels? As in the ufx3 for example, can you have 64 loopback channels?
Every output channel can be set to be a loopback channel.
This does not work here with my new Babyface PRO FS. I am pretty familiar with RME since I am endorsed by you. But I work with OBS and want to get a stereo out signal including sounds from my mac (spotify). I sent the Playback to Adat 7/8 and then turn Adat7/8 up on my output 1/2. But I do not get sound. How can I get a proper Stereo Out sound with this?
If you need help, please contact our support on facebook or support@rme-audio.com
Hi. I use UCX1 and use 4 stereo loopbacks. this leads to me losing the input channels the loopbacks are routed into. does UCX2 allow me to not lose the ADAT/SPDIF input channels, if i use ADAT/SPDIF output channels with loopback?
The loopback signal has always priority. You have to use an unused channel.
@@RMEAudio i'm wondering, how many loopbackable channels does ucx2 offer me? should i upgrade from ucx1 to ucx2 just so i could get loopback channels without losing adat out and adat in?
Please make the loopback Channel have an Orange Color instead of nothing in it
I don't know why it doesn't working on my computer. I am using Mac book pro 2018
don't get it. why I don't just record the input channel to the DAW?!
Doesn't make much sense with a microphone as shown here for demonstration purposes, but it allows you to route the output of any other software into your DAW.
@@error8418 Or in combination to record Skype calls for podcasts: ua-cam.com/video/-oCvhFdzkbs/v-deo.html
@@error8418 ah ok, thanks. good for sampling direct from youtube.

@@RMEAudio means the conception of your video examples are USELESS, unless for those who don't need your videos : SAD.
"Loopback will increase your workflow and boost your creativity" - then we get a 2 minute video on how to make the Loopback button to turn orange! - and that is about it. Now we can all destroy our hearing and tweeters with 100w of 'sophisticated' digital feedback. Yes I've seen the loopback button and I can make it go orange - I didn't need a video to manage that, but how about you actually explain how loopback might be used and how the heck it will boost creativity?
