actually, now that i watched it to the end, its pretty much a reskin of soulstone survivors in the nordic theme. if it doesent bring anything new to the table there isnt really a reason to buy it. especially if it has less perma progression (skilltree and power ups etc.) which i dont know from just watching (skipping through) this.
@Play4Fun U still had 2 empty slots on active skills. You need to pick active skills as soon as possible, since each of them is a new source of damage. Also prioritize passives which give extra damage. ALSO, you should buy Virtues which is kind of meta progression and give you permanent buffs - that way you lvl up your characters and god powers.
@olafwulfgarson1224 I'll look into it, also the skills I know...just I had the impression some of them are useless, I took passives or upgrade the skills I already had for more dmg and less CD. Maybe more skills instead of upgrading the same skill might work differently...I'll try it out.
has nothing to do with diablo, its more of a mix of "hades" and the "survivors like" genre. (just look up top 10 survivors like games and the hades game and you will agree 100% :P) also it has been decreed by the emperor of gaming that all diablo-like games are forthon to be titled as "exile-like". you uncultured swine! (joking). does look interesting though. if you like the type of game i recommend you to try out soulstone survivors and as a more secret tipp (less often listed and rather unknown) "bio prototype". if you want a 3d first person variant of a similar game-style also have a look at risk of rain 2.
I went through all the game you've named, as design and play-style...isn't Jotunnslayer:Hordes of Hell closer to the Diablo style than the others, including path of exile? I'm not talking from a mechanics view point, Soulstone looks like a bullet-heaven very animated, while the design and skills-animation of Jotuunnslayer in general gives you a Diablo-like style gameplay, does it make sense for you what I'm trying to say?
@@ZerdSP so you are just saying it LOOKS like diablo or am i getting that wrong? as in art design? because you say: 1. " while the design and skills-animation of Jotuunnslayer in general gives you a Diablo-like style gameplay" (you explicitly relate your comparison the GAMEPLAY) but in gameplay its 90% coherent with soul stone survivors and like 30% with diablo while in graphics it might be closer to diablo becaused its obviously not in polygon style. but when comparing game-types usually people dont care about the graphics but the gameplay. they would say "its art design reminds me of" and not "the GAME is similar to". diablo is a lootgrinder with a campaign and crafting, an ARPG. Jotunnslayer:Hordes of Hell is a "survivors-like", a term dominated by the game vampire survivors. it doesent focus on loot or crafting and doesent have a campaign or story or any RPG elements really, its a one-map "survive the horde-waves" roguelike where you collect exp bubbles on the ground to choose one of 3-4 upgrades upon level up for a single roguelike run. its a bullethell arena. and in terms of gameplay similarities its closest to soulstone survivors. interactables in the map, the elites shoot those fire-meteors raining down in a telegraphed way, its semi-3d and not pixalated (like many other survivors-like), the upgrade choices have similar ring to it, the reroll, the banish function, etc. etc. ; if someone made a video about this and told me "look at this awesome soulstone survivors overhaul mod: Jotunstone!" and just told me they added some abilities, a new area and let AI generate new textures, i could believe it. you CANNOT do that with a "diablo mod" e.g. its simply a different game. Edit i watched a short clip of soulstone survivors to make sure i was remembering right and i think i have an idea what you could have ment. "jotunslayer has a similar art-vibe to games like the original diablo with its grim-dark art direction" and therefore you wouldnt compare it to e.g. soulstone survivors because that has more of an uplifted artstyle (colorful).? if that isnt it, im lost :"D. ; still wouldnt jutsify the tiltle comparing the entire GAME to diablo IMO though :P
