    A losing stream, disappearing stream, influent stream or sinking river is a stream, creek or river that loses water as it flows downstream: the water infiltrates into the ground recharging the local groundwater, because the water table is below the bottom of the stream channel. When the water table has sufficiently filled, it flows/infiltrates upwards in downstream sandy bottoms after being released by a rock/rocky bottom.

    It was nice to see that daddy Emu looking after the family!! I would have been staying overnight & moving onto the next bend in the hills for a different view, why not when your house is easy to move up the road!! I take after my mum, we would go walking & always had to go round the next bend in case we missed a nice view!!😄 I have really enjoyed this trip with you & now have seen a part of Australia that I always wanted to visit. Also realised that you have more mountains than we do as we are on the ranges. Kosciusko from our side is boring as you follow the range to it, however when I traveled around the Victorian side, it definitely was a tall mountain & it was a shock to see it in all its glory. As an aside I had a visit from my own wildlife a couple of days ago when a fully matured blue tongue lizard wandered past my door so I can only hope that it didn't go next door as they have cats!
    So now I am looking forward to your next adventure!! Maybe I might have gotten all my handcraft work finished if I had been fortunate enough to travel. These days it is off the agenda as arthritis finely beat me around 5 years ago, so I am only able to make cards now as the thumbs will not allow me to knit & crochet anymore & holding a needle to sew is quite out of the question. It has been hard adapting as my fingers were always used to doing something as I first started sewing & knitting as a 10 year old child.

      Understandable if you have never done very much of that sort of camping. Once you do it then you appreciate more of what it has to offer.

    I have more than one complaint! I wish the vlogs of the Flinders Ranges were longer! Greedy ain't I! The scenery OMG upsetting for me - I'm a want to be artist and what you showed us at various times of the day. The vlogs highlighted one possible subject after another. Finally the campsites - the peace/ quiet and feeling of (unless a traveller went past) being the only ones bliss - my kind of holiday
    Thus is going to be lengthy! Found the intro to your current caravan vlog - thanks for the tips/ tricks & ideas
    And lastly Sally that stunning embroidery! How long have you been working on it - is it a wall hanging/ bedspread or?
    That's it thank you for another OMG armchair holiday Jan Adelaide

      Wilpena Pound hold an annual art exhibition which is called the Painter of the Flinders Ranges, some very nice pieces of art for sale there. The area is nothing short of spectacular offering so many different locations that are so pretty.
      The fabric panel that Sally was working on when finished will be a wall hanger. Many hours of work have been put into it, the total number would have to be unknown. A few hours here, a few hours there and suddenly you have a lot of hours.

    Lived this video as usual good content, but more pleased yous are settling settling into retirement eh, all day to do whatever you want at the speed that suits yous, we've been retired for 6 years now and wouldn't swop it for anything, caravaning for a least 1 week a month all year round by the way it was 6 degrees yesterday and hard frost this morning, but lovely and sunny now bye now from Scotland

    Love the bush camping , your right about the flowing water, That's why a dry creek is not necessary dry , dig down you will normally find water, maybe a foot , or 60 feet, Those large gums are surviving because of a good supply of under water, Where I live the creek is very dry at the moment, but about 60ft down we have a permanent supply. Happy safe travels, Enjoyed. Cheers Bevan 🤠❤️🦘🦘🇦🇺

    Hi Mick . Thoroughly enjoy all your videos. Did you find many travellers driving past after dark? The Flinders is such an amazing area. I’m a regular visitor but usually in a designated camp ground. We have had one bad experience at a free camp off the side of the Stuart highway which has made us nervous. Cheers

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  7 місяців тому

      Not aware of any traffic during the night while we were there. One bad camping experience can hold some unforgettable memories, sorry to hear. Hopefully the memories over time can fade and you can enjoy your movements as you wish.
