Aww, I'm glad we have not abandoned Kev, and I'm so sorry he is suffering with pain. It was great to meet Kevin and his friend at Rustival, and so glad that MG is coming along so well. As for Steph, her enthusiasm and passion is one of the main reasons I love to keep watching, she is so very encouraging. Thank you both for another great video.
Nice to see you back on the MGC with Kev! Watching him haul himself up looked so familiar to me! Degenerative disc disease, Fibromyalgia and a few other ailments sees me with similar mobility….especially at the damp and cold(er) end of the year…. So I do empathise! The car is really looking great though, fantastic effort and hopefully we will see you enjoying it next year!
And as you said at the end, never give up what makes you happiest in life. We’re only here for one visit and it isn’t a long one…..make the most of that journey! ❤
Nice to see Kev and you working together again, and sharing your passion for the MG. Great advice on buying parts, saving o few bob now means spending much more in time and money. Also great to hear rustival was up for an RAC award, testimony to your hard work. Its going to be the car show to be seen at
G’day from Australia, I really look forward to your videos, always fun and completely agree with your philosophy on life. Keep producing great content like this, your enthusiasm is contagious 😀
Well done guys, i've been trying to sort my garage out (2 classic minis) but every time i brave the cold, someone turns up and it ends up a 3 hour chat on cars! I'm a retired mechanic with too many projects!
I was one of the rare folks who owned an MGC-GT back in the mid 1970’s. In America. I loved it when it ran. I did a lot of work on it without spending much money. Finally sold it for about half what I paid for it two years later. If only I had known what they would be worth today and had a barn.. missed opportunities. So many missed opportunities. 🤣
Dang Kev, my knees feel for yours, in same shape! Think we are close to the same age. Isn't getting old just wonderful! Funny thing, my knees are fine, when I ride my sidecar rigs...
Fitting a front bumper; that was a bit like 'The Chuckle Brothers', to me, to you, then a kick to make sure you are still awake. 🤣 I know Kev didn't kick you on purpose Steph but it was a bit funny and that is what it's all about having fun with your mates while doing a job/ hobby you love. It was good to catch up with Kev and the progress he has made but as you said Kev 'it will be done when it's done'. I don't think it is far off now though and of course it will never breakdown and if it does you can always sleep in the vintage caravan while waiting for help. Take care both of you and thank you Steph for filming. 👍👍
Thanks for sharing your video Steph, this project is coming along slowly but surely hope Kev starts to feel better soon, it’s no fun getting older aches and pains everywhere, (more black sheep Kev) lol, 👍❤️👍.
The MG is looking great Steph. I used to work on MGs and they are one make where pattern parts really can give more headaches than they are worth. Grease in the bumper is a great move - or painting the insides with Hammerite if you want to avoid any mess.
Personally I would not use grease, it pulls out when you polish the car and just makes a mess. Something like Waxoyl or just simply painting them would be a better alternative.
I was a share holder of the Black Sheep Brewery for over 15 years The AGM was legendary 👍 me and a load of mates would go up to Masham in North Yorkshire to have our say, then a free bar for 5 hours great time 😎😎😎😎😎
Interesting camera angles! Having taken off, cleaned up and put back a Landie front bumper I can sympathise with the awkwardness. Good tip on greasing the rear side. Had to take mine off as the galvanising had failed on the rear whereas the side exposed to the weather, etc was perfect! Cheers
Kev when you say"get rid of the spares"in the background is a Crypton type tuner, was taught how to set up and tune Skoda Estelles using that same tuner (can't remember the make) by the Skoda Estelle Works Rally team although I was just doing road cars way back in the 80s/90s
I'm really sorry to hear you're struggling a bit Kev. Glad you enjoyed the beer at least. Freddie seemed keen to keep it! Disappointed to have missed you again at rustival 2, I searched all day but never did find you. Hope the arthritis improves, and if you're at rustival 3 there will be more beer, and I'm determined to finally find you and shake your hand, the world needs more Kev!
Thanks for your kind comments, it was a lovely gesture the world is always better with 🍻🍻🍻 so sorry I missed you, hope I got your name correct? I always try and do at least 2 good tunes every day 😎 that way I try to make a difference, not in a big way, but a small one, thanks very much once again, The C will be there at the next Rustaval 😎😎😎😎
@kevinhirst4108 you bring me much joy everytime you appear on video! You did get my name right although I answer to pretty much anything. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the MG at rustival 3! I suspect I shan't be bringing the car I really wanted to bring, but I'll be there in something
I sympathise with Kev, in my early 60’s my knees are in bits and my days of crawling under classic cars are behind me. I still dabble but realistically this level of work is now beyond me. It’s very depressing.
Nothing better than a woman in overalls rolling around under a car with a spanner in her hand. You remind me if when my wife used to help me change engines and do all sorts of work on the car. Unfortunately her hip won't allow her to do it now, plus older age doesn't help. Love your work..
Awesome. I regret nothing. Apart from the thing we don't mention. And those other things. Thanks for the inspiration at the end. We all know it but sometimes we need to hear it! I'm gonna play my guitar for a few hours, I've been neglecting that.
Hi Steph and Kevin. car is getting there bit by bit. I'm plagued with arthritis, so I really can sympathise. The colder weather seems to make it worse. I now can't do full days in the garage, I do a couple of hours, take a break, then another couple. Also, I live maybe 10 minutes from Kevin, and I know how cold it is at the moment. Because restoration is a costly business whichever way you look at it, I try to save money any way I can, but factor in the cost of heating my garage. There is no pleasure at all in working in the freezing cold.
Fair point, however I've had a bumper flip up and damage the new paint, I've always done it this way after that incident 😮 everything is loose to adjust it, thanks for your comments they mean a lot 😎😎
Did you see the MGC on Bangers &. Cash resto this week, wow that was a big loss 😂. Checking the comments for questions on that Green MGB in the background 😂. Keep going Kev, hopefully it won’t break down.
wow the MG C GT is starting to look really good and yes take your time it's better to do thing's slowly than fast as you can miss a step and then have to start all over again and that's never fun and Kev have you got a knee brace to help you with your knee as I have knee problems and I find that it help's me big time oh and you can buy two sort's of knee brace soft one's for when going out and about and firm one's when working on your car's.
Absolutely cringing when I saw Kev's glasses on the ground. I am 100% dependent on my specs to see and hear(yes) . I even need them to see if it is daylight 😅 yet. Spares everywhere.
I've always done it this way because, I tried it that way before, the bumper twisted up and marked the paint. This way the bumper can't move too far? Whatever works for you is great but after 30 years of doing it this way I'm not changing 👍 thanks for your comments they mean a lot 😎😎😎

I'm still around ! A few more videos to come but we are nearly there 👍👍👍
Another really interesting video. Many Thanks Steph and Kev 👍
Thanks, Steph (and Kev, as well)! This car has been such fun to watch progress!
Thanks for the channel and content Steph, love the period outfits during reviews. Cheers. =)
You're such an enthusiast.Thank you Steph!
Fabulous video Steph, I love your philosophy
I love seeing you and Kev working together!

Get some more Black Sheep Ale for Kev 😀
Great to have an update from Kev and the MG.
Can’t wait to see this speedy little thing running on the road.
Nice to see Kev and you working together again, and sharing your passion for the MG.

Colour really suits the MG. Good luck Kev👍
Although I'm not a fan of the MGB Coupe in mid-blue, I don't dislike the MGC, the Convertibles, or the V8s. That one looks nice in grey
You're both doing a great job on the car Steph your videos are always a pleasure to watch....thanks for these uploads! 👍
Love to see a guy of my age under the car. I know the feeling!
G’day from Australia, I really look forward to your videos, always fun and completely agree with your philosophy on life. Keep producing great content like this, your enthusiasm is contagious 😀
Well done Steph. Great to see another vintage MG being brought back to life!
Great to see you back at Kev's garage and the MGC. like your points of view on these thing and to just go for it, or you run out of time. Cheers Bob

Great to see more on the MGC. I met Kev briefly at Rustival. He came across as genuine humble guy.
Thanks I really enjoyed it 😎😎😎
Steph, you're brilliant. Keep on keeping on going. Take care and God Bless.

Great video, Steph! It's good to see Kev again. He's a top bloke. It is interesting to see that his MGC was first registered in Preston (CK).
Indeed according to the build sheet, it was an automatic with disc wheels??
Thanks, Kev, for the shout out to Black Sheep ale. Harder to find here in the U.S. than a vintage MG, but my all-time favorite.
I was a share holder of the Black Sheep Brewery for over 15 years
The AGM was legendary 👍 me and a load of mates would go up to Masham in North Yorkshire to have our say, then a free bar for 5 hours great time 😎😎😎😎😎
Thanks for sharing Steph. The MG is looking great, credit to both you and Kev. 😊👍
That is a lovely little car. I would love a GT as it would carry my bass guitar and amplifier :D
Interesting camera angles! Having taken off, cleaned up and put back a Landie front bumper I can sympathise with the awkwardness. Good tip on greasing the rear side. Had to take mine off as the galvanising had failed on the rear whereas the side exposed to the weather, etc was perfect! Cheers
Great video as always Steph
It's good to see progress on Kevs MGC looks more like a car
Kev when you say"get rid of the spares"in the background is a Crypton type tuner, was taught how to set up and tune Skoda Estelles using that same tuner (can't remember the make) by the Skoda Estelle Works Rally team although I was just doing road cars way back in the 80s/90s
It's probably late 60s to 70s works spot on 👍 I still use it occasionally 😊
I'm really sorry to hear you're struggling a bit Kev. Glad you enjoyed the beer at least. Freddie seemed keen to keep it!

I'm enjoying the resto / mechanical content Steph.
Nothing wrong with being on a project for weeks. I've been on my Alfa and Saab for years!
Is there anything that Kev cannot do? The car is going very well I thoroughly enjoyed the video Steph.
I've heard his creme brullè is rather average 😊
I sympathise with Kev, in my early 60’s my knees are in bits and my days of crawling under classic cars are behind me. I still dabble but realistically this level of work is now beyond me. It’s very depressing.

Yay! MGC content i cant wait till its done.

What a lovely bumper steph 😂
Good video 👍👍
If your fitting it on your own you could always fit the bumper irons first to make it a little easier. 👍
Fair point, however I've had a bumper flip up and damage the new paint, I've always done it this way after that incident 😮 everything is loose to adjust it, thanks for your comments they mean a lot 😎😎
@kevinhirst4108 that's a fair point too. 👍
Did you see the MGC on Bangers &. Cash resto this week, wow that was a big loss 😂. Checking the comments for questions on that Green MGB in the background 😂. Keep going Kev, hopefully it won’t break down.
It’s for sale I think!

Every time this thumbnail pops up I think you're stood in the engine bay....
👍
I can now see why the MGC & MGCGT need that bonnet bulge.
Absolutely cringing when I saw Kev's glasses on the ground. I am 100% dependent on my specs to see and hear(yes) . I even need them to see if it is daylight 😅 yet. Spares everywhere.
Bumper irons go on the car first, then the bumper bolts on to the irons, you'd have turned this into a 10 minute job then
I've always done it this way because, I tried it that way before, the bumper twisted up and marked the paint. This way the bumper can't move too far? Whatever works for you is great but after 30 years of doing it this way I'm not changing 👍 thanks for your comments they mean a lot 😎😎😎
Ketogenic diet tackes arturitis

I'll look at that 👍
