In this video I take on the task of reassembling the Velo Solex 5000 that I got in a part trade with the Peugeot 106 Rallye.

Superb. The 5000 is the best moped ever made - the Goldwing of Solexes.Yes I thought that plastic part of the pump was back to front the second I saw it - it's so common. Oh yes - be careful, carb cleaner dissolves the glue that holds the domed part of the pump on! I did that and had to use nail varnish to fix the leak. Clicked 'Thumbs Up'.
Its a very common mistake! And the do work with the bit put on wrong... but not as effective. :)
Oh I did not know! Good to know if I need to take it apart one day :)
That Seafoam stuff, although a great cleaner, th3 chemicals in it will also do a job on the pump as well, especially the membrane.

Hello i want to ask you could you please tell me the tire size i just bought tires 13/4 19 but they are to big my old tires are badly damaged to get the size my bike is exactly like yours it would be most helpful thank you.

hi I have a moped solex 3800 in perfect condition. but it has full throttle all the time. how to fix the throttle handle? mvh sweden
Maybe it has no throttle handle? not all sole have them. :)

Hi have you ever had a solex only spark when you turn it over by the wheel but when you turn it over by the fly flywheel it won't spark?
No... that sound like to most wierd thing ever... :D
@@SeasideGarage thanks for the reply, I'm wondering if it has something to do with the bearings wearing and moving the gap when it is against the wheel, will let you know when I get to the bottom of it
