Great to see you still learning, then passing it on. In my training many years ago, mobilisation the like of what you did was standard, awesome to see it relived.
That is awesome! Regards JG
Thank you so much for taking your time to create these videos. It helps me a lot to treat patients better. Thank you and greetings from Berlin
Thanks for the message and comments....regards JG
Dr Gibbons, It is so good to see you still doing what you do. As a young father I could never begin to imagine what you have been through and come back from.
You are a remarkable man and a big inspiration for me and my own Osteo studies since a discharged from the Army after my son was born.
Kindest regards
Thanks and its so sad what I have gone through but hopefully I am doing better than I was and the comments from people like yourself makes it worth while...regards JG
I have had this pain for 2 years with the head of the fibula locking from time to time. The pain radiates from the head of the fibula to the ankle. Thank you having difficulty getting help.
It can do if the nerve is involved and hard to treat yourself - good luck finding somebody - regards JG
this seems spot on and makes so much sense now
Thanks for the message, regards JG
I go through ur video I really like the way u make clear concept 👍
Thanks for the message and comments, regards JG

@@JohnGibbons i have a rotated talus from birth, my feet is like rotated outwards of what is should be with the calcaneous. It makes the tybia be out of place, which is killing my knee. Do you have adjusting techniques for a case like this?
Nice flow, this is type of ttt that would look good in an exam because of the consideration of structures above and below as well as consideration of compensated muscles like the biceps fermoris to malpositioned fibular
Thanks for the lovely comments, regards JG
Sir...you are superb.
So nice of you, regards JG
Fantastic. Thanks for explaining in great detail. I have this injury from a ankle sprain.
Thanks for the great comments, regards JG
Gratidão
Thanks for the comments, regards JG
Hi, great. Well explained. Really helping in my work. Thanks.
Great, regards JG
Nice video
Thanks, regards JG
i need this done to my fibula dislocation!!!! where can i go ???
Try an Osteopath local to you - regards JG
I have this issue, and this is exactly what my osteopath did with me. I am wondering if there are any exercises or techniques that I can do at home, to continue to ‘free’ the fibula head, or if this is something that I must continue to go to the osteopath for. I find that when I walk, I occasionally feel that sharp pain by the fibula head. I’ve been told to try to ‘manipulate it’ to free it, although when doing this yourself, it is your thumb that you have to use to get in the back of the leg, rather than at the fibula head, so more difficult to free up.
Nice video👍
Thanks, regards JG
My fibula head locks whenever I cross my legs. About 2 years. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Not by a text message, regards JG
What exercises should a person do?
Hard to show exercises on a text message - regards JG
Do you have suggestions on how to self mobilize for this situation?
Its not so easy to do this yourself, regards JG
I have had nerve pain in my shins and knees for 28 years since l had a severe shin splints. I had atest recently that ruled out compartment leg syndrome. This video has got me wondering whether the myline sheath of the nerves have been damage as the nerve pain occurs after exercise. I am going to try a vitamin b complex for the next few months to see if it can repair any nerve damage as it seems the nerves are irritated when being used. If it is not this it makes mexwonder if the nerves are sticking.
Thanks for the message and good luck, regards JG
Could you upload upper limb part please? Like shoulder, elbow, and wrist etc.
In time i might and thanks for message, regards JG
Dr! I am a runner. This pain is really killing me. I don’t know what to do. Iceing like crazy I have nobody to help me move my foot. What do you suggest. Mine hurts 3 miles into every run. Went from 60 miles a week to now I can barley run 3 miles please help
Sounds like you may have a stress fracture, needs an X-ray to confirm or deny - regards JG
@@JohnGibbons it is so minimal. I don’t feel it walking. I only feel it 3 miles in a run. You think it’s broken with it brother me 3 miles in?
Dr I don’t even feel it when I walk. Only hurts me 3 miles into the run also. I didn’t think it was stress fracture because of how minimal the pain is. It’s like a bee that stopping me from running
Dr, this video is 3yrs ago, i have this injuries a few weeks ago, but im living in a poor country, how can i do it myself😢
Hi, it is really hard to do these yourself if honest, try and see someone like me, regards JG
Other than weak peroneals and distal biceps femoris pain, what injuries or symptoms would lead you to perform these actions? Thank you.
Thanks for the message, I always tend to check the proximal tib-fib jnt on anybody who has sustained ankle injuries. Regards jG
I train 5-6 days a week and a couple times a year my GerdyTurbicle area gets very swollen. I keep thinking it was my IT Band. But I did not when my outside right knee is inflamed is that my right foot also angles out more than my left. Now I am wondering it it is something else. When inflamed I can hardly walk. Then it goes away as fast as it comes.
Hard to say without looking at you so try and see someone like me if you can, regards jG
Hi John, I have tibial torsion with external rotation, wondering what your advice would be
See a therapist like me where you live as shouldn't cause to much of a problem and if structural then in reality you cant change it, regards JG
Hi John, many thanks YET again, besides good tips for my clients. This one is good for me as I have this problem but also shinplints, will this help. I do have other major complications too will affect my mobility as have Morton's neuroma. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks Aliki
Will this first maneuver fix pops and cracks from the knee? (I have it from my last chiro adjusting)
I doubt it, however you never know as might help, regards JG
Thanks so much! I was wondering why would you choose to mobilize the tibia instead of the distal fibular head directly to gain the posterior glide of that joint. Thanks
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the message and I manipulate the proximal fibular and distal tibia, regards JG
I had a TKR left leg 11 weeks ago and seem to be going backwards. The above video seems to fit my sysmptoms perfectly. I fell day 4 post TKR and ended up with a strong upper ankle sprain. Still have affects from that. Knee flexibility is very good but the pain on walking now and doing some exercises is going negative. Is it possible I need to be in some form of bracing for the tracking to stay in line or what should I not be doing? Thanks
Its hard what to say or suggest without looking at you - either see the surgeon or a local therapist that understands what you have had done etc, regards jG
@@JohnGibbons thanks for your reply and videos. I did talk last week to those treating and now I am getting improvements and they are manipulating my leg at various places with success. Swelling was crazy and now a week later almost all gone!
Hi doctor thanks for your vedio, I have pain on my head of fibula, had done physio, but that good. Can I do exercise myself and heal by my own message? I would like to see you but I am in Australia. Many thanks.
If possible I would try and see someone like me where you live as sure they can help, as not so easy to treat yourself, regards JG
@@JohnGibbons thanks for your response Dr John
i have a case of what appears to be a spasm of the fibularii muscles; onset 4/52 ago involved landing on tip toes of affected leg from a jump and felt sudden pain posterior to fibular neck; pain intensity only felt now with jogging/running... all along the fibularii feel HT and are extremely tender to palpation but no noticeable weakness in eversion... affected leg has a flatter foot arch... the treatments outlined in your video here were followed (succesfully mobilising all joints) but got more favourable results by trying to posteriorise the talus with the reasoning that the talocrural joint is less stable in plantarflexion (landing on tiptoes) and causing the talus to anteriorise effectively stretching the fibularri and resulting in theses muscles contracting forcefully... I was wondering if you have come across something similar/or any have any suggestions would be appreciated--maybe a reciprocal inhibition of the fibularii via an MET
Sounds like a proximal stress fracture of the fibula, regards JG
I liked the concept, I don't know exactly how it works but it seems to work for me.
Patient - 😳
Love you btw ❤️
Thanks for the lovely comments, regards jG
it is a great informative video as usual, but i have few things to pick up on, first could this technique be used a treatment protocol for anyone who suffered from fracture of the ankle , sprain or any other pathology , out of precaution that recent dysfunction could have disturbed the normal biomechanics of the ankle without the patient complaining of knee pain?, second the strength that was regained in the evertors after the treatment was mainly due to release of the compressed peroneal nerve which was entrapped at the level of the proximal tib fib joint?? ,thanks in advance john
Interesting comments and gets the mind working so thanks for that. regards JG
Not really sure what you mean but thanks for the comments, regards JG
Nice job sir
So nice of you, regards JG
