  • Welcome back to Jon's RC!
Today, I finally decided to take out this really old plane from my hangar that I won from my Flying Field's annual auction for $5. Nobody tried to outbid me because I'm sure they were certain that the plane was way underpowered, really in bad shape and that it wouldn't fly! Well, they got 2 out of 3 correct! I did have to do some minor damage control to the tail but that was pretty much it! She is very slow in the sky but hey she flies and she looks good doing it!
    Enjoy the video!
Plane has long been discontinued but here is the original link:

I've been watching you and you're doing a terrific job. I am Airplane fanatic 61 year old from Hilo, Hawaii. And I love watching you and your dad. And you are one smart cookie. There's nothing like fixing up a plane and flying it, especially if it's a successful maiden. Good luck, buddy.

I love this plane. We used it to train beginners at the RC club as it flies so well and forgiveing. It's also a very nice looking one and often beginners (especially younger ones) are much more motivated if the plane is good looking. Too bad that it's no longer manufactured. Even from this standpoint its IMHO a very inovative design with the vacum formed upper halft of the fuselage. I still have two new ones in their boxes and I'm looking foreward to use them for recreational flying around.

Nice to see. I have one of these. The only plane I kept when I left the club and started park flying sub 250g because i just loved how easily and scale it flys. Must find somewhere to give it an outing.

I assure you that thing is not underpowered. It is flying just fine. As soon as you had said you could do rolls, I knew it ws not underpowered, and I was right. Nothing wrong with this $5 plane. It is a veyr nice flyer

For $5.00 that plane is a steal.
Sure hope your field isn't always that noisy. That would drive me to another field or out of the hobby.

Yes. The Control-Line flying field is right next to ours. Most of my videos have the sound coming from the control-lines in the background. But, if we get to the field early enough, we sometimes miss them.

It's good to see old planes getting another shot at flying. Very cool john. What was that noise in the background, was someone flying a line control plane?

Yes! That is exactly what that noise was!

if you are in san gabriel, then do you fly at whitier narrows? is that where you fly? I mean, isn't the sepulveda basin too far for you ?
