      Alonso Arellano exactly! Honestly thats like the most important thing u can get off watching a pro, especially while he puts in light relaxed tapered work

      @@tomlee2481he’s really not doing anything crazy with his feet. Ofc he has the best footwork in fights but this is relaxed technique on the bag that he shows with his crisp punches. Don’t know why everyone crying about footwork In other heavy bag videos. Simple step in and step outs. 🤷🏻

      @@bubsenseijebe2993he doesnt need to tho. I remember when i was a beginner, it was great and still is to see even simple step in and step out. Just the way these guys move their feet even in simple things, the fundamentals, i always want to see. Boxing is a sport all about the fundamentals isnt it?

      Right haha.... I notice he definitely never puts on a show for the cameras... but the more I started to study him and apply some of his moves I realize what hes more so working on. Hes working the bag with true purpose, not just putting on some flashy show. He does a lot of hooks, and feeler shots, and at a slow rate.. however every shot still has a pop which means he maintains proper technique through it all.
      Through this slow probing, and then landing a hook every now and then, hes feeling out for optimal range and the center line, in which he can hit the target best, but also get hit. Once he finds this he starts working in on his angle cuts, as he rolls off to a 90 or even slip to a 45. He stays in this range never moving back doing needless footwork. He stays in his signature "Mid-range" matrix zone, where his hooks are the most optimal, especially off of a pivot from an angle switch. Every now and then he smothers the bag, giving it a push with his forearms, and then taking another angle as it slides back towards him.
      This is what hes really working and focusing on... and then notice when he finds all these sweet spots, he gets really smooth and just starts amping it up very effortlessly and naturally with powerful flurries.
      And this, IS EXACTKY HOW HE FIGHTS! Haha. Awesome work.

    • @csl9495
      @csl9495 4 роки тому

      @Boxing Boxing well, I say his matrix zone is mid range because it's the range were he is always constantly engaged. It's where he can hit but also get hit. I guess you can say every fighter has their sweet spot and different ranges, where they can hit and not get hit, but not every fighter simultaneously constantly evade strikes and attacks successfully like Loma does. Most fighters are doing one or the other... like in and out fighters, or fighters who stay just out side their opponents reach and look to set traps and counter.
      Not sure if you were asking me for advice or just clarifications. I'm still trying learn this for myself, Haha. It may seem like common sense but for a long time I didnt know, you don't hear pros talk about it much nor did I hear about it from coaches much. To be honest I didnt really start to be able to envision it during practice on the bag or shadow boxing until I got more sparring experience. Since I trained myself, i always just watch what I like and try to imitate it. As one coach once told me, I have an outside fighter quality. Problem is the practical use of that was near ZERO! Lol I'm a short person! With short reach, if I play the outside game I can never hit them, but they can hit me. I waste all this energy trying to be evasive at a range where I can never counter them, and I have to take two to three steps in just to work, by then of course they set counters or just back off.
      If you have issues envisioning that while doing bag work, I guess you just have to spar too.

The guy is a special talent. . i do expect a win against Linares. Looking forward to seeing him in with mikey Garcia. That fight and tank Davis fight will be the test. I've worked out on traditional heavy bags ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.
