Thank you a lot. I`m a polish WordPress web developer, trying to start making website`s for english language people. Your video about starting on UpWork, helped me a lot
Thank goodness for your content and channel. A lot of the WordPress/Freelance/Ecommerce/Online Marketing content comes across as thin and spammy. Yours is honest and thorough.
Thank you for these videos, they are pure gold for those of us who don't have a clue about upwork! Regarding the last job you mentioned, a fixed price job for $600, is the price of these actually fixed or would you try and negotiate a higher price if you thought the job was more complicated? $600 sounds like two days effort at most.
in my search i am not getting alot of website development related jobs how to resolve that issue ??or implement the filter for getting more website development projects
Awesome information you put in your video i really appreciate your work I'm a top rated freelancer but i leave work for 4 months and now i think i no nothing about Upwork but after watching your video I'm get inspired again and feel alot of energy to send good parposals thanks Dude🥰
That's so awesome to hear Usman! I'm glad it helped, and thanks for your comment. I'll be uploading more freelancing and Upwork videos over the next few weeks
Very educative, informative and a great eye opener... Thank you so very much my brother... I'm so excited and pumped up to explore. You are simply the best. 👍❤🙌👌
Thank you! I am not currently applying to Upwork gigs, because I am very busy with my 9-5 job. I have been thinking about dusting off my profile to see what the platform is like these days. I doubt I would change my proposal much. I would only change it to reflect my skills.
I am not the best person to answer this, but include all of your information about your education, skills and portfolio projects. Having a professional email is also recommended. There are many good blog posts on this and John Morris has some videos about it as well.
Great video thanks so much! I am a newbie here, creating my portfolio to start with upwork! How easy is to win a project as a newbie without any feedback - rating on upwork;
I'm glad to hear it!! In the beginning, it's a bit of a numbers game. I applied to 10 or 15 small jobs before getting my first contract. It's important to remember that small contracts regularly lead to more work from the client (especially if you get a good review), so taking the time to write a custom proposal is worth it.
@@coding4tacos Thank you so so much for the reply and for the great info you provide! How many sample sites is good to create on my portfolio before applying on upwork; 2-3 are enough to go;
@@coding4tacos Thanks!!! I ll update my progress here :)Except from upwork are there any other good similar sites that entry leverl workers can find projects;
Hello Taylor, awesome video, very informative. I am a web developer with knowledge in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, but would like to transition into WordPress development. Where did you learn PHP and Wordpress development or where would you recommend for someone to learn from. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your comment! I learned PHP mostly from tutoring lessons and I learned WP mostly through Udemy courses and projects. On Udemy many people recommend the course by Brad Schiff, but there are lots of good ones. Once you know the basics of how themes work, PHP if statements and loops will get you a long way. Most of the time you don't need to write anything complicated, as least for theme development.
These Upwork vids have been so helpful to me. I'm getting closer to finishing my profile, thanks to your helpful advice.
That's so great to hear!
