Yes, just man-made chemicals. What I find most sickening, is the fact that the food industry manufactures chemical, mushy shite, moulds it into the shape of dinosaurs, coats it in breadcrumbs and then markets it at our children!! It's scandalous. And what's worse is that the government ALLOW them to do it! All because they make BILLIONS doing it.
Have they addressed Huel in the main podcast? That is ridiculously ultra-processed. And many adverts I see for it on UA-cam are encouraging young people to drink it instead of putting the small effort in to learn to cater proper food for themselves. Did Tim Spector call out Stephen Bartlet for earning £££ promoting it? Certainly should.
We need to teach young people "FOOD IS NUTRITION IT'S NOT ENTERTAINMENT". People eat food to feel good, to have a good feeling. It's not that dissimilar to doing drugs. Putting horrible stuff in your body because it tastes good. 70% of aisles in a grocer are unnecessary poison to your body. And alcohol is a horrible poison.
My daughter is autistic and will only eat mostly ultra processed foods. It worries me a lot but its either that or not eat at all. I make one non processed proper meal a day but it doesnt feel like enough.
I have a very picky eater and struggle with that as well. I've had to pick my battles and sometimes he'll be so hungry he'll eat chicken or meat that I prepared. Just keep in mind that ultra processed foods contribute to behavioral issues, etc.
@@deexz_editz I'm aware unfortunately my daughter has PDA so anything she sees as a demand is often intolerable and she is extremely anxious about everything. She has been massively failed by the system. We can only keep trying.
I don't know where you live, I'm based in UK and over 10 years ago changed my diet from standard to well balanced and healthy vegan diet. I cured diabetes, anaemia, too low pressure, heavy migraines (with partial paralysis) and many more. My skin, hair improved. Before the change I would faint roughly 1-2 times a month - well since I changed my lufestyle I didn't fain once all these years! People still ask me for ID and I'm a mother of teenager. Today I'm 35 and I'm healthier than when I was 15.
A kg bag of frozen potato product €0.95. A kg of fresh potato €1.45. A box of frozen burgers €2.95. A packet of fresh mince €4.00. It is cheaper to buy frozen; them fresh.
I eat way too much Aspartame in my coffee. I just went and threw out all my packets and the juice powder. It's a great sweetner and up until recently was supposed to be fine. But any time you eat some crap made in a lab, it's probably messing up your body.
Unfortunately, our fruits are GMO and made to be bigger and sweeter. I do not consider most fruits a healthy snack anymore. I stick to organic berries and bananas from my parent's tree.
@@kingofceltsthis is a question I would also like to know the answer to! Before I had a child everyone thought I was younger, now I look much older! Stress is also a killer not just crappy diet.
That is actually a supplement not a food but, it’s actually great to drink after a stent in the gym or another strenuous physical activity like basketball, soccer, etc.

Ancient Greece. Obesity issues. How much ultra processed foods? None. While bad foods and bad endodontists can lead to bad behaviours. At the end of the day, the bad result really comes from poor nutrition and excess fat from too many calories.

"Health halo" "real food doesn't need health labels...." powerful information 💯
They're no longer foods, they're products, substances. Hence the addiction.
Very true! Sadly😢

Great comment!!!

Both of you are truth heroes of your day!! ❤ Thank you for all that you are doing!

Uber eats app looks like a similar layout to Netflix for me
So interesting and informative. Thanks

What makes me nervous are the amount of toxic pesticides on fruits and vegetables.
We'll cross that bridge when we get there. Let's focus on crawling first ( ultra processed food)

Have u noticed recently when you peel oranges you can see the wax powder fly out of it
Yes. They cover some fresh stuff with wax

Cheaper crap, cheaper price..
@@cyuiyuwyguiyui Totally argue. There is no such thing as cheap food. If you don't pay the Small Farmer you will pay Big Phama in years to come.
Just because something is edible that doesn’t make it a food.
Don't know how someone so seemingly self aware can keep shilling for Huel when he knows its the epitome of ultraprocessed food. Great podcast besides.

This seems reasonable, but we still need serious studies to test his hypothesis.

I stay away from carbs, boxed, or canned food. I'm 40 and people think I am in my 20s all the time.
I'd love to know if you're married with kids or single?
Boxed and canned food? How silly.
😊
So that means you don’t eat fruits and veggies? (Carbs)

It’s also cancer and other stuff, not just obesity
