Ahahah thank youuuu! I tried my best to make this as clear as possible narrating every step so that it was friendly to everyone and easy to follow. My motto is for guides you first need to show the end product so a user knows if they want to do it, then you show each of the steps by narrating them and especially give emphasis to any values or things that need to be inputted. Thank you for your compliments and I hope you do manage to install this!
ayyy thank you so much, apologies for getting to your comment so late and I'm glad you were able to fix everything by switching to google chrome, yeah microsoft edge is notorious for not always working correctly unfortunately. I'll probably try to make an updated version of the tutorial to sort out common errors people had that's a little easier to follow. Also, I'm super happy that you were able to get it working and your thanks make creating this tutorial worthwhile to know that I could help you out in playing this awesome game. No worries and I hope you have fun!
@@AnimeNyan i actually switched FROM google chrome!! it’s such a buggy browser lately for some reason, so surprisingly microsoft edge came through for me 😭 and you’re the absolute best, thanks a million times again for this tutorial you made my year :’)))
Hahahah I wish, I'm glad that I could help in any way, I didn't really do much at all, but I'm happy that I could share my experience, because it seemed impossible to do for so long, even after I'd done I'd consulted all the resources I'd found, so I wanted to make a clear guide that cleared up all the confusion that was a definitive way that I knew for sure worked.
Yep, except it was probably closer to 10 years old for me. It was a highly enjoyable experience at the time and I distinctly remember being abnormally proud to name random plants on the street after seeing them in Viva Pinata and my parents rolling their eyes.
@@cal2901 hahahah oh my gosh that must have been quite the awakening for your dad, I have to admit reliving the nostalgia of this game has been a real treasure. Costalot the money hungry storekeeper the weird cat lady selling pets, I just love the quirky and always wonderful design of this game and I was delighted to discover that I could play it again on my computer so many years later!
Really sad that the last great RareWare game is the one that has the worst optimization when it came to future OS's, and with no remaster on the horizon. Great tutorial that fixed everything and finally got me playing again. And including the 1080p hex switchers in the description was a great touch.
Yep a little bit depressing but on the bright side it was highly optimised for the xbox one running nicely at 4k out of the box and I think you can buy it on the xbox store? I'm not 100% sure of that. And no worries at all, I'm extremely happy to know I could help others in any way and your happiness is something that will make me forever happy to make this video. Ahahaha and I'm happy you liked the hex switchers in the description, I only added those recently but I realised a lot of people needed help with that section and I hadn't quite explained it well. I hope you have a great day and an awesome time playing this game!
OH MY GOSH, I cannot overstate my gratitude for this tutorial. I myself was struggling for hours, trying to get this game to run. This absolutely saved me!!!! People like you are heroes. Thank you!
I was surprised to hear this game had a pc port in the 1st place, but saddened to see it was unplayable now, but thanks to this i can relive all those memories! your a life saver!
This was extremely comprehensive and super glad to see you've kept updating on issues people have had in the comments so mad props for that, it's working flawlessly! So many people just make a video or post a link and stop responding, the links will have died, the guides won't work anymore, so on, but this here deserves respect! Ngl This is the first time I'm playing this game and omg it's so charming and fun TwT I can see why so many people have fond memories of it. I really do think this series needs to come back and there's definitely demand for it, especially in a world where Animal Crossing sold more than 30 million and continues to sell even more, there's no other franchise that has so much potential than Viva Pinata. But in the meanwhile, thanks for this guide, man, you're a legend! Now imma go make a kickass wholesome farm and think up some cute names for pinatas haha
Ahaha thank you for your kind words, being able to comment on a video and always having someone respond was the experience I was always wished for, so I wanted to create that experience for others. I remember when I'd comment on a large UA-camr's channel when I was young and naive and wait hours for a reply, heart beating anxiously only to be sorely disappointed. I know I was stupid to expect any reply whatsoever, but I hated that feeling. Also, I know the suffering that people went through to get this lovely game working on their computers. I myself went around the internet asking questions and pulling my hair out before I was kindly helped by CaiaTheFirefly and other kind and compassionate people, so I can empathise with wanting this game to work so badly so I made sure it was comprehensive and I could guarantee that everything was working well! Yep, this is certainly a fantastic game and don't worry there's no time like the present to play so you're not missing out on anything by getting this game today all the more reason to make more amazing memories now. And no worries whatsoever, I'm happy to support others to play this wonderful game again!

Hey man I don't usually comment on UA-cam videos but I wanted to say thank you and confirm that this method totally works. Got the game downloaded (from nblog) and configured in like 20 minutes and works perfectly on Windows 10. Super easy dude! Thanks again!
Thank you so much for going out of your way to comment Aaron, it heartens me to know that you would make an exception and I want to let you know that I appreciate that. When I started doing UA-cam I wanted to be someone who really listens, someone who reads every comment and goes out of their way to listen to what others are telling them, especially when it's criticism. Because that's what I wished I had, someone who I could talk to as a friend without all the marketing shit. I hoped that I could create something of benefit to someone else and always be a friend to talk to there for someone else no matter how many subscribers I had. And I still do, although I'm nowhere near the kind and understanding person that I want to be. To be honest, making tutorials is about the furthest away from my main content as possible, but I'm happy that it could help others. The reason I created this was because I couldn't find a single method that worked online, so I made a guide which I could personally attest to working. Great job on getting Viva Pinata running and I hope that you have fun. In the end I don't really care about subscribers or views, I care about the people behind them and your comment makes me happier than any amount of subscribers or views could ever do.
Jakub Lipiński Hi apologies for the late response, for some reason I can’t see comments which are replying to someone else, so I didn’t catch your comment until now, however I have put the download link in the description for a working iso if you’re still looking for one this one: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1H9GgIr_7gWnm0nrRqPc-pBGiVsr6wba2
you really went the extra mile with all the effort you put into this- just all the links and everything. i really appreciate it this is one of my favorite childhood games and im so happy to be able to replay it !
All good I'm really happy that it's working for you! My only goal is to make others happy, because it brings a smile to my face to think that I might be able to help someone else! I know I'm just some stranger on the internet, but I wish you all the best and although irrelevant especially because this was just a tutorial to install a game, I'm always here to talk or if you want me to have a look into something. I always make a point in reading every comment I get and making a personalised response and not a copied and pasted one. Anyway you get the point, a little long of response to a thanks but thank you to you as well.
ahahah, I'm happy that I could make your next month, I was just replaying Viva Pinata recently, just recalling all the memories I made with this game and the delight of the peaceful atmosphere of this game. I'm really glad you could get it working and I hope you have a great time playing it!
I figure this is worth mentioning but I went months without realizing it... I'm playing this on my laptop, but if you have a dedicated graphics card (like any sort of newer Nvidia one), be sure to open up the control panel for the card and under "Manage 3D Settings", go to Program Settings and add Viva Pinata.exe and make sure it is running the Nvidia processor and not the integrated card. Mine wasn't so I just easily switched it and I went from sub 30 fps to 60 fps.... so be sure to do that. I think it's simply an issue the game doesn't recognize newer GPUs and you have to manually set it.
Thanks for the information and informing me about this I'll let others know if they have similar problems and glad to hear it's running more smoothly on your computer now!
Works fine for me. All i did was download those files from google drive and it was done. Cheers dude for making it possible to play this absolute classic of a game

This worked beautifully the only thing I haven't done is mess with the Hex editor because I wasn't sure if the download was okay, Chrome seems to consider it as potentially malicious.
Do you mean the one from this website? www.editpadpro.com/download.html#trial if so I think it should be fine from my experience, however, that's completely fine as well. That step is completely optional so don't worry at all!
No unfortunately not, Rare never released a PC version of Trouble in Paradise, so it only works for the first game, although I do hope you have fun in quarantine!
@@Rus-nu9li Yep, but you'll likely need an xbox 360 or xbox one and just as a word of warning, I've heard from others that it is very hard to obtain because the game is so old by now. Yeah I think my quarantine's going fine, I have uni on the side, but on the whole not too eventful at all, I have time to do what I want as well, not able to go outside as often and visit friends unfortunately, but I'm happy it isn't too serious in our country.

You are my hero! I searched for so long for this game, since my xbox 360 was not working well anymore and because of you I dont have to pay 50€ (price right now at amazon). The only thing which is not working is the 4k part but I dont need it
@@DiariesOfTheLiarsWolf Ah yes common problem it's really my fault that I didn't realise this would be an error. The problem is you need to make one graphical change in game and save it before the pinata.cfg file appears. So you need to enter the game Viva Pinata > press start > video settings > change resolution to anything > click save and then you should see the pinata.cfg file. Also, another issue that I neglected to mention, because I think window has since updated their policies on files in the Program Files folder. In order to edit the Viva Pinata.exe file, you need to copy it onto your desktop first before doing the correct changes with editpad pro and saving those changes. Once you have done so you can copy and replace the edited version of Viva Pinata.exe back into your Viva Pinata game folder.
@@AnimeNyan okay thank you! I will try it tomorrow and then I can play it even more. I think I played it today like 2 hours, I missed it so much😅 and thank you for your help and extensive instructions!
And really glad to be of service, yep I think it's really weird that Viva Pinata is so expensive as such an old game, also without gfwl support and an appropriate tutorial to get it working the game is kind of unplayable which I believe would be another annoyance on top of the 50 euros spent. I too wanted to relive the nostalgia of this game on my pc so I'm really happy I could assist you with playing this game on modern hardware. Furthermore, even I was surprised at how well Viva Pinata matches up to the graphical standards of today and that it can go up to 4k 60fps resolution, albeit not true 4k and it looks beautiful, especially for a game released in 2006!
By based I hope you mean awesome because I love awesome! Just kidding, I'm really happy that you seem to have liked my tutorial, it was only with the generous assistance of others that I was able to get it working and after reading the comments of hundreds of people I am happy to say it never gets old to know that I could assist someone in this weird process to get this game working!
Thanks man, I did have this working with a different iso but the ground in the garden was missing so it was not playable like that.. But this worked perfectly and was easy to follow, I didn't do the 4K bit but it looks perfect as is! Thanks again man!
No need, I'm glad to be of assistance and that this version works for you. My goal was to make an easy to follow guide that I could confirm worked after so much frustration trying to install this game so I'm happy that I could achieve this for someone else!
Good to hear that it's in working order, I'm really happy to know that I could help you. However, you really don't need to thank me, this is what I wished for when I was looking for a tutorial, so I wanted to create that for someone else. Unfortunately, because there is no Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise PC version and no working Xbox Emulator right now, Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise will not work. The only way to get it working currently in 4k is on a console through the Xbox One and to insert the Xbox 360 disk as it has been upgraded for the Xbox One as detailed in this article here: www.gamereactor.eu/eight-rare-classics-upgraded-to-4k-with-xbox-one-x/ Apologies for this.
I sure wish there was a way to disable the garden limit, I've looked at the game files but it seems like you'd need to do some heavy digging to be able to modify those settings.
Yeah unfortunately it's a little difficult to edit the game with mods or changing values, because I think Rare used a custom game engine which has been outdated for years, that and I believe the files are encrypted or not in any easy to read format and the game has been completely shelved and archived even from the original programmers themselves who don't own any of the code they made. That and it also wasn't designed to be too mod friendly. An alternative however is you can create a lot of new gardens and have multiple gardens at once, you just click start a new garden so you can have different gardens for each habitat, I hope that helps even a little bit!
Ahaha really? I'm actually kind of happy, because I remember receiving so many comments for a few common errors that I really forgot to knuckle down on, but I'm super glad it works for you and thank you! I'm glad my efforts to make this guide as accessible as possible to everyone worked out, I've always found tutorials so confusing so I wanted to make this one something anybody could easily follow and do without losing track. Hope you have a fun time with this wonderful game again, it is certainly a blast to relive the memories that made this game special during my childhood!
i actually have an issue when in the app data > local, when i click s i don't get saved games- so I'm at a total loss now... anyone know what i did wrong?
So all you need to do is to go in game > video settings and make one change to the game resolution and save changes the saved games folder should then appear.
Hey thanks so much, man. I have the disc legally from eBay but recently I could not for the life of me get it to work, so I had to result to this instead and it works. I wasn't here for the 4K part because I am not too bothered about the resolution for a game like this. But thank you for making this tutorial!

Works great I just have one question, when editing the hex code (I think that’s what it is) if I changed the resolution to 2k instead of 4K is the thing I need to change different or does it work for both, because it seems to be working fine so far
A thing to note is that when I go into graphics settings it doesn’t show that it’s displaying in 2560 x 1440 even tho it appears to be and I don’t have an option to change it such, it’ll show its displaying at 800 x 600 which it is not
Well...if it's working I wouldn't question it, as long as it is actually 2560 x 1440. I mean if you're experiencing no performance loss (you can check with nvidia shadowplay through the fps counter, or some other tools) to see if you're dropping any frames, it should be fine. Technically yes, you are supposed to use a different set of letters, because the letters I used were 3840 by 2160 in hexadecimal but if it's better than the default max which is 1920 x 1200 and you're sure it's 2560x1440. I think you should be cool. I think. Because your computer will try rendering at 4k but then it will realise your screen only goes up to 2, so I'm assuming that it's smart enough to do that. Technically you should be replacing this value: 80 07 00 00 B0 04 in Viva Pinata.exe with the hexadecimal editor which is hexadecimal for 1920 x 1200 according to this guide here: www.wsgf.org/article/common-hex-values, there's an extra set of zeros in the middle for some reason, I don't know why, with this value 00 0A 00 00 A0 05 which translates to your screen size 2560 x 1440 p, but if it works, it works and I wouldn't mess too much around with it.
@@mirmir6965 You might want to try what I said in my previous comment replacing the 80 07 00 00 B0 04 with 00 0A 00 00 A0 05 just in case, because it should be saying 2560 x 1440 to the best of my understanding, though I haven't tried that. Hope that does help! If it doesn't feel free to come back and slap me and ask for further help! : DDDDD
Any way to fix the package functionality? I can't even send packages to myself. That's a pretty important part of the game for me. Forcing me to never be able to move pinatas around from different gardens really really sucks. Are you able to send packages/crates to yourself using this fix?
Not so far that I know of, unfortunately, I don't think it's possible without GFWL, but give me a day or so and I'll look into it, I'll ask around and see if there are any possible solutions.
Anime Nyan Man, that is really unfortunate. DRM sure is a crazy thing! One thing I know is that there are some people who can run this game without any issues without using the patch workaround. They can simply make a local profile on GFWL after launching the game and use it for saves. The game then recognizes said local profile and lets you send crates to it. When I launch the game without the patch, the game simply opens a GFWL sign in window saying "Please Wait". When I get bored of looking at this screen, trying in any way to close it will completely freeze the game. So clearly, it's somehow possible, but the people I'm referencing (I found them on the Viva Pinata speedrun Discord server) have apparently had the game up and running over a year on their PC and have no idea how they got it working that way.
@@Ohrami Yeah DRM is pretty crazy, unfortunately I tried sending crates to myself as well only to have the game crash like yours. As for playing the game by creating a local GFWL profile, I saw a lot of tutorials on that as well telling me to press the home button my xbox controller, I only have an xbox one controller, but none of them worked for me. I don't think I even got a please wait screen like yours, because I wasn't sure how to activate it. My apologies that I'm not sure how the people on the Viva Pinata discord got it running, maybe it's a different version of Viva Pinata? Hopefully people on the discord can help you out.

Also just to confirm, you're sure you used the iso from the google drive link I pinned? If so, I was looking for some solutions online and I would advise having a look at this video: ua-cam.com/video/nDpNTEkLyts/v-deo.html The download for direct3d version 9 is here, I did double check that the file works, however, be aware this is 3rd party, so I cannot 100% guarantee the safety of this file, please use an antivirus: www.majorgeeks.com/mg/getmirror/microsoft_directx,1.html And once you install the folder to anywhere, as seen in the video such as your desktop double click on DXSETUP.exe and see if you can install that. Failing all of that, because I saw that that didn't work with my computer, just go to the official microsoft website for direct x here: www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35 install that and see if that works. Hopefully that can help solve your issue!

Hello, I’ve been playing all day and it was fine but suddenly it started saying that the file is corrupt and try to clear or remove some of the hard drive. Any tips on how to deal with this situation.
It’s also saying that the file is unreadable. The thing is that i closed it and opened it before to play and nothing was wrong but it’s suddenly showing me this message. ( it says hard drive may be full)
@@Noname-nc8xw Hmmm that is extremely weird first time I've heard of that, so I'm not actually sure I can help you here, but I'll try my best. I'm guessing your hard drive isn't actually full? Do you want to check that your hard drive isn't actually full just in case? Because sometimes when playing the game it might generate extra files. If your hard drive is close to bursting as in you have less than 50GB remaining it can sometimes stop the game and other applications from working properly. Otherwise if you're sure that isn't the problem another suggestion is that you delete the saves in the Viva Pinata folder. Because sometimes it could just be a coincidence or something might have gone wrong with your save file that corrupts the data and to be safe you will have to delete both your save and the profile. Don't worry they will automatically be generated again. The issue is you will lose your progress by doing this. I think I experienced this once by accidentally deleting a save. The way to do this is to go to the location here: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Saved Games\Microsoft Games\Viva Pinata and to delete the folders named "Saves" and "Profile" this should reset your game to the start. If that still doesn't work I would suggest you uninstall Viva Pinata and reinstall it again. Another thing, did you use the version I linked in my google drive link below? If not I would highly suggest you uninstall the version you have and install my version instead. The reason why is I have tested the version in the google drive and can verify it works on my computer and many others, sometimes other sources may be missing a file or two causing the entire game to be corrupt. Anyway I hope this might be a solution to your issue give me another poke if you run into any further issues and I'll try my best to help you debug it.
That's great, I'm really happy I could help you out in some way, it always warms my heart to help someone else, I really wish you a great day and am sorry for this late reply, I can sympathise with you as well having played this game when I was about 12 years old as well!
For some reason your comment was flagged as spam so I didn't quite see it. Hmm so one thing you might want to try is going to video settings in game once you've opened Viva Pinata and adjust it to the highest setting, I think it was 1080 and then click save changes and do the search in editpad pro again and see if that works. If not, comment again I will help you solve your issue, I think some others from the many other commenters on this video did encounter your same problem so in case it doesn't work I'll double check until I find you a solution.
@@AnimeNyan I've had every issue so far ; ~; and i don't have 1080p in the game. only 1920x1200. Behind that is 1680x1050 Edit: Ah okay.. it's because of the version difference on editpad pro 7 compared to 8. 8 needs to unspace the code when searching.. so instead of 80 07 00 00 B0 04, it is 80070000B004. Yes it is still possible to play Viva Pinata for PC, the process hasn't changed at all as the game has not been updated, so it works exactly the same as the time I made this guide. Yep. ahaha By the way this will only work on a Windows computer or on a Mac emulating a Windows PC. If you prefer written guides, use these two guides I wrote GFWL fix: www.reddit.com/r/VivaPinata/comments/bnqo4h/viva_pinata_on_the_pc_gfwl_no_longer_works_may/ and the 4k resolution edit: www.reddit.com/r/VivaPinata/comments/bpyc0f/may_2019_viva_pinata_on_pc_working_in_4k/ , but I'd really suggest watching this video for an easier to follow tutorial. However, as a really quick summary of what the whole process entails, pretty much just download the Viva Pinata iso from the description of my video from Google Drive alongside the x_liveless file. Unzip the x_liveless folder copy the things inside the folder into the Viva Pinata Program folder. However, that's just how to get saves working. You'll need to edit the resolution and if you just reference either this video or the guides I've put in this comment, they'll show you how to do it. If you have any problems, feel free to comment here below and I will do my best to help. Another thing is I have actually put all the frequent problems in the description of this video. So if you find you have a problem the solution is probably in the description of the video. Just let me know if you need any further assistance and I"ll be happy to help out if you need.
@@AnimeNyan hello sa would be possible that you explain me in detail by se that I am French and I do not understand anything in English if possible you use google translation plz I love to play play when I was a child
Hey I'm happy that it was of some use, it puts a smile on my face to hear that you've found this game after looking for it for so long, I hope you have a great time playing this fantastic game.
every time i try to do the setup.exe it gets to like 20% then just closes.. also its in Russian i think? so i cant read what its telling me in it, or like which boxes i want to check sorry if theres like a simple fix for this im like new to this lol
ahhhh I think you may want to find another version because it sounds like your version may be a little dodgy and the setup just doesn't work properly. I'm not sure I know how to help you there, because I'm not sure there is a fix for that, apologies. The only thing I could advise is to find another version, hopefully in english, though I'm pretty sure the checkboxes at default should be fine. If you're still running into problems, feel free to comment again. And don't worry about it, I'm kind of new to this as well, it's all good.
My setup exe is also in some other language. Not sure which language though. Is there anyone that might perhaps be willing to snap a screenshot of the English installation so we know what these check boxes are for?
@@ThoraxeTheImpaler55 Okay downloaded all the files once again and reinstalled viva pinata to check it. In short, all the default settings are fine. One thing to keep in mind is if it still doesn't work I think it may just be a faulty installer that doesn't work, i.e the files are corrupted or incomplete in which case you may need to find another installer. I'll also send over the pictures of the installer settings in case you wish to check, but if you press the next button you should be fine :D

@@AnimeNyan Oh man. Thanks a ton for this. This is actually exactly what I spent hours scouring the internet for. You are awesome! Amazing video too! Super helpful!
You need to change the system language of your computer itself. It tries to match the system language of your computer. However, do be aware that others have noted that some graphics and subtitles do not display correctly wen switching to other languages. But if you wish to use another language you'll have to switch your system language on your computer.
@@pimi8522 Ay no worries I made a commitment to respond to any and all problems on this video, because the thing I hate most about tutorial video is the original creator never respond to issues in the tutorial. So for my own video I wanted to at least change that to be able to assist people most in need. Just let me know if you have any other problems and I'll be glad to assist!
Hey Nyan, firstly I would like to thank you for the good tutorial and secondly I want to ask if it's normal that the game keeps freezing every 30s or so? Is there a way to fix that? Lowering the graphic settings or the resolution doesn't seem to help 😢. Also the first and only time I wanted to send a Piñata to my other garden thru the post office the game crashed and I had to delete the save file and start all over again.
I do not know how I missed this comment for two months and I do apologise. Thank you so much for your words, it really heartens me to see that I could help some others. However, really I have to put the credit on CaiatheFirefly for giving me the fix in the first place. Also, to be honest I am actually quite surprised that the textures for Viva Pinata were so high quality, especially for a game that was released in 2006. It just goes to show how Viva Pinata was a great game, that was pretty well future proofed.
I can get the graphics as everything high, but the is stuck resolution being 1280 x 720 instead of 2K like my monitor is (and like I've set it via your instructions), but when I tried 4K, it totally stopped working, and the game wouldn't launch anymore - having 2K set makes the game work again but it's still not in 2K, but this is better than no game at all... Anyway, thanks heaps for this! Love all the hard work and easy explaining. Such a great game that I am so glad to have back.
Apologies that's my fault, at the time of making the tutorial I didn't realise it wouldn't work for different resolutions, but I added it in the video description: So if you want to use different resolutions other than 4k I have written down what values you should replace in Editpad Pro right below here. Also in the pinata.cfg file please remember to change your screenresx and screenresy values to match your screen resolution. For 2k (2560 x1440) Replace all instances of: 80070000B004 with 000A0000A005 when hexediting. @@AnimeNyan Thanks for quick response! I meant, the description versions didn't work originally. But then I started from scratch after messing with something else and it worked, so whatever went wrong last time was easy fixed. :) V happy!
thank you so much. at first i was kinda sus about doing it then i decided to go for it and it worked like a charm! my childhood gam and for free! you earned my sub
No problem, after hearing of so many people being unable to play this game because of outdated, buggy software and I myself having a huge amount of trouble with it, I was more than happy to make a guide for others so they wouldn't have so much trouble trying to find a fix that I knew worked for sure! I have to say, however, the credit goes to CaiaTheFirefly who without the crucial fix I would never have been able to make this guide to make the game playable!
You have earned my fuckin sub. Literally look online every few months hoping i find someone thats figured it out, and you're the one to bring it to me. good looks man
ahahah thank you so much for your glowing praise it makes me glad to help you out and I'm very happy I could help get you playing Viva Pinata again. Also the sub is appreciated even though I haven't done much UA-cam because of university. I hope you have a splendid time with this game!
: D I'm really happy that I was able to assist you in getting this game, I hope you have fun playing this wonderful game. Also, if there's anything you want to see me make or do, I'd love to oblige any requests!
Heheheh oh my gosh I remember that feeling as well being in game without a save function as well, which is the entire reason I made this video guide after I had done about two days worth of research to get this working. I'm glad you didn't have to suffer without a save, I really do hope you enjoy playing this game!
Anime Nyan I have you to thank for making my girlfriends day, i have never played this game but i followed ur guide to make it work! She does have one concern tho she isnt able to send crates or use the ”mail” game just crashes! It could be beacuse i found a download on piratebay and didnt read ur comment about ur link.. Do u reckon its just that the games filés are broke or is there another solution? Great guide anyways mate u made the game work! I just need to find a solution for her.. ;p
@@rspsEIKO Glad to hear that you were able to get it working for your girlfriend and I was happy this video was able to help you! I hope the both of you have a lot of fun with this game, it's really a great one. As for the mailing system unfortunately I'll have to say there isn't a solution for that, I really apologise for that, the problem is by disabling GFWL with x_liveless, it doesn't allow you to mail things between gardens. So you'll have to start from scratch every time you create a new garden, which I really apologise for. It's not to do with your version from piratebay at all. The only way that would work is somehow installing GFWL and creating a profile and I've answered about 200ish comments so far on this video and as a result had to do quite a bit of research on this. So far I have not seen a single method that successfully installs GFWL. I have heard people say they have done it, but from all my experimentation unfortunately no. In fact, it was because I was so frustrated that I couldn't find a single tutorial that worked that drove me to make this tutorial. So in the end, I'm sorry, unfortunately there is no solution to that, however you still keep the same gardener level and chocolate coins between gardens, although unfortunately you'll have to obtain the pinatas separately.
Anime Nyan Mate thank you alot for your answer❤️ Well glad it wasnt my version of the game beacuse if i had to reinstall it and lose all her progress it would suck u know. Ur doing a great job making sure its working for everyone interested so big up to you once again! 🙏
Anime Nyan as far as i understod it the worry wasnt that she cant send pinatas just that she couldnt ”move her houses and stuff” so i googled it for her and the only solution i found was putting the items in a box and mailing it and reopening the box to place the item again.. what a struggle i thought haha seemd dumb that u cant just move it, But its not a so big problem anyways she said i just needed to know if my files were fked up! So thank you 🙏
This tutorial was perfect! It covered all of the steps, and some common problems! I haven't played this game in so long and thanks to you, now I can! :) Do you have a donate page? I would love to thank you for putting this up!
Ahaha thank you for your kind words and I am extremely happy that you got the game working. Honestly I just don't need the donations since I'm in a good position, your thanks are more than enough to warm my heart! If anything please keep that money and use it to buy yourself something special because I certainly don't need it. It is thanks to the kindness of others such as CaiaTheFirefly that I was able to make this video at all so I just want to pass the kindness onto others. I really appreciate the sentiment and I wish you a wonderful day!
Glad to know you're here, just send me a message if you have any difficulty with getting the game installed and I will try my very best to help you out in getting it working!
I'm from Australia, but really close! Happy to hear that, I'm really glad I could help. I hope you're doing okay in your country and you have a great time with this game.
DaaxPepino Apologies for the late reply because for some reason I can’t see comments which are in a reply thread, however if you’re still looking for one I think any working iso will do just fine such as this one which I uploaded drive.google.com/drive/folders/1H9GgIr_7gWnm0nrRqPc-pBGiVsr6wba2 that is because from my research Viva Piñata seems to take on the language of the system. So if your computer locale is set to Spanish it should also set itself to Spanish supposedly. Apologies again for replying so late.
No worries, glad that I could spread this knowledge more widely around, I'm just happy that so many extra people can play this wonderful game. And thank you for your comment I really appreciate your support!
Wait do you NEED Edit Pad Pro, even if you don't care about the 4K? edit, i skipped the 4k, however I now have a DVD drive F: that has Viva pinata in it, is this just there forever now? or can i get rid of this somehow?
I'm curious how the copy you show off was packaged as it is a single piece and gets past some access denied problems and unfortunately the two disc copy no longer appears to be usable after a 2022 windows update. But overall a wonderful tutorial that still works in 2024
Thanks for the awesome guide my man - one question. It is telling me the in Editpadpro that the file is read only. I have checked the properties and the box is unchecked. Just wondered if you had a work around so I can change the values? Thanks
Yep I did apologies for missing your comment, I'm not sure why I never caught it, but I put this common problem in the description of the video because this issue just didn't happen in the past for some reason, so it's completely my fault: If you get errors when trying to edit Viva Pinata.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Viva Pinata and get a read only file when trying to edit it with Editpad Pro, please make a copy on your Desktop of Viva Pinata.exe. Once you've done that, edit the copy on your desktop and save it with the changed hex values before copying and pasting your desktop copy back into your Viva Pinata folder, replacing the unedited version in the game folder. So if you have any further errors, let me know or join my discord here and send me a message: discord.gg/ydf5YV4
Thank you, Anime Nyan! I was having trouble with getting the GFWL ini file to cooperate with my game, so I tried what you suggested and that did the trick! And thank you for the thorough tutorial as well! :D
Thank you so much for this guide!! I was afraid that the Viva Pinata community is a little bit dead, but nope ;0;!! Thank you!!♥ But i've had a little problem- after I play ~15 min. the game starts to have low FPS and i can barely play.. do you know anything about this? Any advices? :"). Maybe it's because my windows is 64x..? idk really :")
No worries, so I would suggest first things first to restart your machine and see if that fixes it and see if it the low FPS issue occurs consistently. If not I would suggest doing a clean install. So the way to do that is once you've uninstalled Viva Pinata to delete the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\ and also to delete the folder %localappdata%\Saved Games to make sure you don't keep any files between installs, from there I would suggest installing the game again and seeing if that works. I don't think it's because your computer is 64 bits, mine is 64 bits as well and it works fine on my computer. I have heard that fps issues have happened for some people with RTX series graphics cards, I think that might be because the game is so old it might not be compatible with newer hardware.
omg i had this xbox live arcade game and i think the demo of this game was on it, i loved it but since it was a demo i couldnt save sadly, im gonna do this and play it again!
No worries I understand, let me know if you have any questions and I'd love to help out with any troubleshooting if necessary so just send a comment my way!
Im not having the Saved Games folder in my local files.. does onybody had the same issue? EDIT: You need to start the game once and it will create the folder
Excellent guide. Thanks a lot. I can't seem to get it to run in 4k, seems to be the same problem as Kio, but that's alright. I'm playing on a laptop so 1080p works fine.
Thank you so much, I am really happy that it worked for you. As for your problem, the first thing I would check is to make sure your display screen supports 4k resolution, because otherwise it won't work. If you're experiencing the same issue as Kio, as in not having the pinata.cfg file. I think he said he had to make one graphical change in-game and then that created a pinata.cfg file in this path C:\Users\[insert your username here]\AppData\Local\Saved Games\Microsoft Games\Viva Pinata so that means starting the game clicking video settings and shifting the in game resolution down to something like 1280 x 720 and then saving (just temporarily) and I think that should create the pinata.cfg file that you can edit. Hopefully that helps, if not come back and I'll see if there isn't some other way I can help.
@@AnimeNyan Been addicted to the game again for quite a bit now. Slightly unrelated, but just a question, now that GFWL is gone, the crack makes it such that anytime a Leaderboard, Post or Gift is selected, the game crashes. I am kinda trying to collect species but man, does the resident limit give me headaches. Does this mean that there is no way to ship pinata between your own gardens anymore? Any alternative suggestions to resident management then
@@TheLegendJohnCena mm I've tested it a little bit and I don't seem to have the post or gift options, but then again I completely forgot how to make another garden. However, unfortunately I'm not sure there is another way because GFWL is completely gone, I think you'll have to start from scratch each time in a new garden, apologies.
Thank you so much for this! Btw I know this tutorial is kinda old and idk if anything has changed with windows but some parts of this tutorial and the reddit post don't work anymore. Specifically when trying to open the program in Edit Pad Pro 8 (current version). It says it can't find the 80070000B004 in the program code. I attempted to just replace the Startup.exe that you provided but it's not clear which folder to replace it in. Hi! Thanks for the tutorial. I got the game functionally running (physical disk), but having issues with pretty severe screen tearing. In all my years of watching random niche UA-cam tutorials, this is the most thorough and high quality.
Thank you for your compliments and I hope you do manage to install this!

who else played VIVA PINATA on XBOX 360 when they were 6 years old?!
Yep, except it was probably closer to 10 years old for me. It was a highly enjoyable experience at the time and I distinctly remember being abnormally proud to name random plants on the street after seeing them in Viva Pinata and my parents rolling their eyes.

This was extremely comprehensive and super glad to see you've kept updating on issues people have had in the comments so mad props for that, it's working flawlessly!

I just wanted to confirm that this still works as of September 2023. Thanks for reconnecting me with a childhood game!

This worked beautifully the only thing I haven't done is mess with the Hex editor because I wasn't sure if the download was okay, Chrome seems to consider it as potentially malicious.

THANK U SO MUCH IT WORKED the nostalgia omg 🥺
I guess this is how I'll be spending quarantine.
Also before i watch, does this work for the sequel too?
No unfortunately not, Rare never released a PC version of Trouble in Paradise, so it only works for the first game, although I do hope you have fun in quarantine!
@@AnimeNyan damn. Guess I'll get rare replay then. How's your quarantine?
@@Rus-nu9li Yep, but you'll likely need an xbox 360 or xbox one and just as a word of warning, I've heard from others that it is very hard to obtain because the game is so old by now. Yeah I think my quarantine's going fine, I have uni on the side, but on the whole not too eventful at all, I have time to do what I want as well, not able to go outside as often and visit friends unfortunately, but I'm happy it isn't too serious in our country.
@@AnimeNyan that's nice. I'm willing to get my hands on Rare Replay which I think is apart of Xbone's gamepass thingy? So that's an option.

You are my hero! I searched for so long for this game, since my xbox 360 was not working well anymore and because of you I dont have to pay 50€ (price right now at amazon). The only thing which is not working is the 4k part but I dont need it
okay nvm the saved ordner appeared after I openend the game after the GFWL fix, but now I dont have the cfg file xD
@@DiariesOfTheLiarsWolf That's fine, let me know if you need any help and I'd be willing to help you get it working!
Yup, this is pretty based.
By based I hope you mean awesome because I love awesome!
This was super easy to understand and worked perfectly. Thank you so much!
Any idea if this will also work for Trouble in Paradise?
Good to hear that it's in working order, I'm really happy to know that I could help you. However, you really don't need to thank me, this is what I wished for when I was looking for a tutorial, so I wanted to create that for someone else.
Unfortunately, because there is no Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise PC version and no working Xbox Emulator right now, Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise will not work. The only way to get it working currently in 4k is on a console through the Xbox One and to insert the Xbox 360 disk as it has been upgraded for the Xbox One as detailed in this article here: www.gamereactor.eu/eight-rare-classics-upgraded-to-4k-with-xbox-one-x/
Apologies for this.
This man can't be thanked enough!
Thank you so much. Everything works perfectly fine, that guide was so good!
Ahaha really? I'm actually kind of happy, because I remember receiving so many comments for a few common errors that I really forgot to knuckle down on, but I'm super glad it works for you and thank you! I'm actually really surprised it managed to make the skip to modern hardware so well and still looks very much like a modern game, reliving my nostalgia with this game was an amazing experience.
: DDDDD

Thank you soooo much!!! IEverything worked properly in 1080p! I hope Viva Piñata TIP will be available to get for free one day :(
Any way to fix the package functionality?

Yep..I had no idea what's going on either. However, from doing a little research I think you may be missing direct3d version 9 is what the message is saying. Also just to confirm, you're sure you used the iso from the google drive link I pinned?
If so, I was looking for some solutions online and I would advise having a look at this video: ua-cam.com/video/nDpNTEkLyts/v-deo.html
The download for direct3d version 9 is here, I did double check that the file works, however, be aware this is 3rd party, so I cannot 100% guarantee the safety of this file, please use an antivirus: www.majorgeeks.com/mg/getmirror/microsoft_directx,1.html
And once you install the folder to anywhere, as seen in the video such as your desktop double click on DXSETUP.exe and see if you can install that.
Failing all of that, because I saw that that didn't work with my computer, just go to the official microsoft website for direct x here: www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35 install that and see if that works.
Hopefully that can help solve your issue!

You're a legend dude, thank you very much
Hello, I’ve been playing all day and it was fine but suddenly it started saying that the file is corrupt and try to clear or remove some of the hard drive.
Thanks. I really love this game and played it when I was eight. This is so nostalgic 😍
That's great, I'm really happy I could help you out in some way, it always warms my heart to help someone else, I really wish you a great day and am sorry for this late reply, I can sympathise with you as well having played this game when I was about 12 years old as well!
I can't get the 4K part to work :( It says the text search cannot be found.
Behind that is 1680x1050
Edit: Ah okay.. it's because of the version difference on editpad pro 7 compared to 8. 8 needs to unspace the code when searching.. so instead of 80 07 00 00 B0 04, it is 80070000B004. Same applies to the other code~
@@hamedo6111 ah sorry about that, I apologise that I wasn't here to help, very strangely it seems I cannot find your other two comments they seem to have completely disappeared, so could you just let me know if you're still having any issues, because I can't quite find what your comments were attached to so I don't know which issues you were referring to. This is Viva Pinata or Viva Pinata Trouble In Paradise?
Viva Pinata the first game not trouble in paradise because a pc version was never created. You still cannot play Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise on PC. There is an xbox360 emulator but it still cannot properly play Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise.
@@AnimeNyan ok, what is the name of the emulator?
@@kokacola_7003 It's Xenia which is for Viva Pinata TiP but as of currently, it only works on the title screen when I last checked and it doesn't work in game at all so I don't think it's worth your time in the current state.
The method in this video is for Viva Pinata the first game on PC and the video covers how to get Viva Pinata the first game working on PC not through an emulator, but because there is a PC version of Viva Pinata.

hi is it still possible to play a viva pinata if so how plz
Yes it is still possible to play Viva Pinata for PC, the process hasn't changed at all as the game has not been updated, so it works exactly the same as the time I made this guide. As for how to do it, it's pretty much how the video says it is to be honest, if you follow the instructions in the video, it's a guide to how to get Viva Pinata working most optimally on your computer. Yep. ahaha
By the way this will only work on a Windows computer or on a Mac emulating a Windows PC.
If you prefer written guides, use these two guides I wrote
GFWL fix: www.reddit.com/r/VivaPinata/comments/bnqo4h/viva_pinata_on_the_pc_gfwl_no_longer_works_may/
and the 4k resolution edit: www.reddit.com/r/VivaPinata/comments/bpyc0f/may_2019_viva_pinata_on_pc_working_in_4k/
, but I'd really suggest watching this video for an easier to follow tutorial.

However, do be aware that others have noted that some graphics and subtitles do not display correctly wen switching to other languages. But if you wish to use another language you'll have to switch your system language on your computer.
@@AnimeNyan thanks a lot man. Don't get replies on old vídeos too often. Stay strong 💪🏼
Bro you're a legend!
Hahahah I wouldn't say that but thank you very much all the same, I'm just another normal person wanting to help other people out!
OMG ! Thanks you so much, you are awesome !
Thank you very much. The game of my childhood. Now I can game it in higher level of quality and enjoy it at all :з
Apologies that's my fault, at the time of making the tutorial I didn't realise it wouldn't work for different resolutions, but I added it in the video description:
So if you want to use different resolutions other than 4k I have written down what values you should replace in Editpad Pro right below here.
Also in the pinata.cfg file please remember to change your screenresx and screenresy values to match your screen resolution.
For 2k (2560 x1440)
Replace all instances of:
80070000B004
with
000A0000A005
when hexediting.
I also made an updated guide which corrected quite a few of my mistakes a few months ago here: ua-cam.com/video/cg4D683ke2I/v-deo.html
You can also contact me on discord if you'd like me to help out through text or a call: discord.gg/ydf5YV4

This is amazing, thank you so much
You are an absolute legend
Wooooo thank youuuu!!! 🙏🙏
THANK YOU I LOVE YOU
You're a hero! thanks mate. ✨
This was well need I've been trying to get this game on PC for the longest
: D I'm really happy that I was able to assist you in getting this game, I hope you have fun playing this wonderful game. Also, if there's anything you want to see me make or do, I'd love to oblige any requests!
I can't thank you enough! 😍
Thank you so much for this, can finally save :)
So thank you 🙏
Thanks. I Love you!!!
I had the DS game and it was so good, i hope this install will work !
Glad to know you're here, just send me a message if you have any difficulty with getting the game installed and I will try my very best to help you out in getting it working!
It worked ! The game works perfectly, it seems to crash about every hour but i believe the game has auto-saves so it's not that much of a problem !
great guide, thanks!
All good, happy to help! Heheheheh...now time to farm all the cute pinatas and to sell them for money. mwahahahaha
thanks a lot for this video guide. one thing tho, can i uninstall games for windows live or do i need that for it to work right
No worries you can uninstall games for windows live, this method does not use it at all.
Time to try this out!
thanks for the vid :) are you from NZ? THANKS FROM UK
I'm from Australia, but really close! Happy to hear that, I'm really glad I could help. I hope you're doing okay in your country and you have a great time with this game.

No need, I hope you have fun playing Viva Pinata!
@@AnimeNyan Do you have any link to a latin spanish or all languages ISO? Been looking for one and couldn't find it
DaaxPepino Apologies for the late reply because for some reason I can’t see comments which are in a reply thread, however if you’re still looking for one I think any working iso will do just fine such as this one which I uploaded drive.google.com/drive/folders/1H9GgIr_7gWnm0nrRqPc-pBGiVsr6wba2 that is because from my research Viva Piñata seems to take on the language of the system. So if your computer locale is set to Spanish it should also set itself to Spanish supposedly. Apologies again for replying so late.
Thank you, this is amazing
No worries, glad that I could spread this knowledge more widely around, I'm just happy that so many extra people can play this wonderful game. And thank you for your comment I really appreciate your support!
you are a life saver man thank you❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wait do you NEED Edit Pad Pro, even if you don't care about the 4K?
edit, i skipped the 4k, however I now have a DVD drive F: that has Viva pinata in it, is this just there forever now? or can i get rid of this somehow?
No sorry you don’t need edit pad pro if you’re not doing 4k and to remove the disc right click on the f drive > eject
Thanks, it worked
I'm curious how the copy you show off was packaged as it is a single piece and gets past some access denied problems and unfortunately the two disc copy no longer appears to be usable after a 2022 windows update. But overall a wonderful tutorial that still works in 2024
Hey great tutorial, everything works as you described. Do you know if there is a way to play with controller?
nevermind you can just set it in the game options
thanks you so much !!!!!
Thanks for the awesome guide my man - one question. It is telling me the in Editpadpro that the file is read only. I have checked the properties and the box is unchecked. Just wondered if you had a work around so I can change the values? Thanks
Yep I did apologies for missing your comment, I'm not sure why I never caught it, but I put this common problem in the description of the video because this issue just didn't happen in the past for some reason, so it's completely my fault:
If you get errors when trying to edit Viva Pinata.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Viva Pinata and get a read only file when trying to edit it with Editpad Pro, please make a copy on your Desktop of Viva Pinata.exe.
THANK YOU!
So the way to do that is once you've uninstalled Viva Pinata to delete the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\
and also to delete the folder %localappdata%\Saved Games to make sure you don't keep any files between installs, from there I would suggest installing the game again and seeing if that works.
I installed it, but when I try to run the game it's just a black screen and it kicks me out after one or two seconds. Any help?
@@AnimeNyan it's okay it's not anyone's fault. Just wanted to know if there was any easier way to collect all the species at once. Thanks alot
Update: I found which folder you're referring to but the download fails and doesn't do anything. I set the resolution to the highest the game allows in game and I guess that's enough.
