Eleanor hasn't flip flopped on anyone guys. You've gotta move on from that, Max literally betrayed the pirates and funded Rogers' agenda...Billy outlined that this episode. So why the focus on Eleanor? I get the Vane thing but that's typical betrayal in Nassau, they're all villains. You're missing out on Eleanors story because of the blind and misguided hatred.
No idea why you are constantly attacking Elenor. She hasn't changed since episode one. She is also not a flipfloper. She has always acted or tried in the best interests of Nassau for all people they live in Nassau. The best thing for Nassau also meant making uncomfortable and impossible decisions. With Woods Rogers, her focus has now changed for the first time. From the best interest of Nassau to the best interest in her love for Rogers and his goals which are still similar to her own. Now extended by the baby. Every other character in this show has done more flip-flops than Elenor. She killed Vane, who killed her father, and still acted in Roger's interest. Contrary to others, she has never recklessly deceived people. That was always difficult for her and she only did that when it was not otherwise about protecting Nassau or/and herself. Others have pursued their own selfish goals. Flip-flops everywhere.
I was just like Nikki at the end of this episode, was only thinking one thing - the slightest chance that Thomas might be alive. Also one of the quotes I've taken with me from this show is Silver's "We are at our least rational, when we are at our most vulnerable" - so true in life
When you said you don’t think you have seen anyone cleaning the bottom of the boat to remove the barnacles... recall season 1 when they had the ship tied to the trees? That’s what they were doing. Removing the barnacles so they could have a clean bottom for more speed.
Kat & Sonny you guys are awesome! Was actually hoping you guys would one day react to Black Sails but not a surprise you two have already watched this amazing show!
"When you wage war against the world, the world fights back" has to be one of my favorite quotes of the whole series. I think of what Ruth said to Madi about Madi's mother finding a safe place and saving those she can. That seems to be the debate of this season -- the people you love or a war that could change the world. Eleanor seems to be choosing her loved ones. Flint says war because he's already lost the person he loved the most ... or has he? Flint can't allow himself to imagine Thomas might be alive. It would be too soul-crushing all over for him again if not. Can the kitty join all reactions from now on, please? 😁
Such an underrated show! I would have watched 5 more seasons of this show. I think the acting was top notch and the cinematography is fantastic. I want more!
In terms of brutal ways to die, the ancient civilizations were super cutthroat. Crucifixion was slow. Draw and quartering. Disembowling. Literal beating to death. Burning. Crushing with stones on a slab. Chaining you to a post in low tide. Humans are savage beasts.
The whole world changes every episode!! That whole sequence with Jack/Anne in the ship was so brutal. Close combat, darkness, and claustrophobic. Plus they linger on the shots, no quick cutting like so many other shows I love that you say you can't see what the endgame will be. Even if you could see it now, the next episode would change it. And the one after that, etc lol
you're one of the few reactors who feature (care about) madi. it's so frustrating to see her story line virtually ignored in other videos. they brush her aside then towards the end of the series "scratch their heads" about the decisions/motivations her character and others had concerning her.
So true. They appreciate the subtle character moments and storylines just as much as the big spectacle moments. Their reaction to the slower, deeper eps are just as good as the big eps. It's why this is my fav Black Sails reaction series by far
The end of this episode confused me the first time I watched it. I couldn't figure out if what the plan was with taking flint in. Then again she is pregnant and was debating what the future of her child would look like in and out of the island. So it makes sense she wants the cash so she can raise her child. She is done with war.
With Black Sails you can never tell what's going to happen, yet when it does happen it always makes complete sense. There are no twists just for the sake of having a cheap twist.
The English Navy was particularly fond of corporal punishment and had a reputation for being the hardest navy in Europe in terms of punishing the crews.
Eleanor reminiscing with Max about the time Max wanted them to run away was just her realizing how easier life may have been if she had done that. But while she still cares for Max, she does not feel for her the way she does about Woods Rogers. Woods may not want to run off, but she is doing what she thinks is best for them. As for Max, as much as she is not a fan of the violence and the current situation, she would not want to risk starting over somewhere and losing the power and respect she has worked so hard to earn, especially as a black woman in that time. She would not run away with Eleanor
I felt that the writing has to be brilliant to kept viewers guessing because the end result is already known, both in history (if the viewer does their own research) to what happens to the real life pirates like Vane, Rackham, Anne, Teach, and also fictional ones like Silver, Flint, Bones in the Treasure Island book. I love the way they use their creative freedom to weave the journey to that end.
To answer your question about why Teach and his crew had to board Rogers' ship, I believe they had to confirm the death of Rogers. Otherwise there remains the possibility that he had escaped during the pursuit or would survive the ship being blown up (Flint survived in season 1). The show has established that people can survive in the ocean and swim to dry land (Flint's crew, Billy, etc) so until they could confirm his death, the factor of his possible survival would be a serious threat to their cause. That's my logic, anyway.
Flint went with Eleanor because he respects and trusts her despite everything that's happened...that should tell you something. Remember this all started with Flint and Eleanor when no one else cared or believed in what they were trying to achieve in Nassau.

@@shanenolan8252 She didn't flip on any of those ppl so I'm guessing that's why you did bother answering the actual question which was to name an instance where she flipped, all I see are random names. Eleanor had zero relationship with Anne or Jack so I can already tell this is a baseless conversation. And Her father? Lol so she killed Vane for killing her father but she flipped on her father? OK seems like a pretty senseless conversation so I won't waste anymore time. Have a good one. I'm always expecting some Eleanor critics to make a valid argument and I'm always disappointed
@@gemelwalters2942 hang on . Lets keep it civil. ( tone ) first i never said she and Anne had a relationship ( romantic) but they did have a relationship season one didn't they plan and executed a several murders ? Yes and didn't elenor try to have jack her and that crew killed in season 2 ? Yes . Second, her father was when she was 17 and she took control of trade in Nassau. Remember how frosty they were ? Every name i mentioned has a story or example behind it . So its not a senseless conversation is it . Maybe you should consider before you type .even Steve asked how many times has she flipped. I can give background on all the other names i mentioned as well . You are always disappointed with eleanor critic's. You obviously never debated me ( best of luck your gona need it ) considering how poorly you have done so far ( just on remembering what happened in the show ) ( sorry that sound disrespectful but its true you dismissed argument and your reasons or points were wrong) right ?
