One of my favourite of his songs, although it became somewhat prophetic, sadly. The strings always feel too high in the mix for me though! Planet Queen and Mambo Sun are highly recommended, probably my two favourite Trex songs ever.
One of many classic tracks on Electric Warrior ..epic ending ! You could do a cool comparison .. T Rex original Telegram Sam vs Bauhaus cover ! Thanks 😊
@Sandy 303 That one minute of Bela in The Hunger is what gave Bauhaus a name in the states. Ultimately , Love & Rockets were bigger & Peter solo had some minor hits.
@@davidellis5141 Love And Rockets are a great live band. It's forever a regret that of mine that I didn't see Bauhaus, back in the day, when I had the chance. By all accounts, they were fearsome.
Yes ! Brilliant . Sadly missed ! Marc was well into "Celtic " roots songs such as" Ride a White Swan "is about Beltane which is a festival and walk to a magical place ! Stone Henge had a 9 mile fence to the feasting area ! Marc loved the town and tor of Glastonbury ! Yes more T.Rex is a proper journey ! Cheers ,
@aznageel. Bolan and Bowie had parallel careers until Bolan's death. Bolan made the odd decent single whereas Bowie made series of stellar albums. They were good friends but not in the same league musically
@@btj-oo8xc I disagree, but that's both our opinions, it is a well known fact that Bowie was always following Marc's career and tried to emulate him, he did exceed Bolan in many areas but it was always catch up. For example, Bolan did Soul Rock years before Bowie. Marc Bolan was a Rock star whilst Bowie was an artist pretending to be a rock star or pretending to be whatever was next on his list of things. If Bolan had lived, who really knows, but in my opinion anything Bowie did after Scary Monsters (which was brilliant) in 1980 was terrible except for the odd song.
@@AcePanno1 Bolan's career was very one dimensional, he just regurgitated the same old stuff. Tell me where Bowie tried to emulate him. Bowie did soul rock after hearing the philly sound, nothing to do with Bolan. Do agree about Bowie after Scary Monsters though
The styling is very similar to Bowie, thanks to Visconti, this song was 6 years before Bowie did Heroes (the song) - In my mind Cosmic Dancer is better than Heroes
Electric Warrior was a favourite of mine as a teen(think my parents must have got fed up with hearing it lol.) I'd love to see what you make of their first single 'Deborah' released when they went under the full title Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Love this song with a passion.
He had such a unique voice.
Beautiful song... diamond Meadows is also a classic..from Marc... been a fan from 1970
Love this song, probably my fav T.Rex song! Amazing how you don't need complex structures to sound so great!
T.Rex , Album "Slider" is a gem !!
I'd not heard this one before. The string arrangement is my favourite part 🤩👍
Great great hippy song I loved this, used to see the tree where he died, near Barnes in London, as I used to pass that way quite often!
I loved the music of T Rex.
Was Marc’s vision of reincarnation and premonition of his early death.
Total vibe!

More YES!🤩
We were just talking about that.
@@hanierfamily Side 2 of Close to the Edge, Awaken or The Gates of Delerium would be some good suggestions.🤩

Not a bad idea! Bauhaus can be a bit Marmite, so it might be an interesting comparison.

@@Sandy-dd4le I saw them in December of 1982 at The Roxy in Hollywood .. They split in summer of 83 .. Spirit was their last 45 that spring.
@@davidellis5141 I admit it, I'm jealous!
Over 50 years old. Musicians of that day were not behind the door.

Beltane Walk is a brilliant song too
@@AcePanno1 Too right it is !! Cheers !
T rex and bowie had same producer. Bolan was an influence on Bowie for sure
Bolan was about 10 divisions below Bowie
@@btj-oo8xc Ummm No don't forget that Bolan died in 77 so a bit hard to compete when you're dead.

A song about reincarnation
Not my idea, but I think you guys should put a short song with a revisit song... it'll justify both a short song and a revisit.
Bolan and Bowie were great mates. Why not give these a try Planet Queen. Ride a white swan.
