your skin is acidic. You're not supposed to use alkaline stuff on your skin. Your skin's pH is 4.5 - 5.5 btw, so skin is acidic. if u use alkaline on ur skin it will be harsh and neutral isn't quite beneficial either

And just because something is acidic in nature don't mean it's gonna burn your skin, it just has the ability to possess H+ ions. Not all acids are corrosive in nature. Even milk has lactic acid, that doesn't seem to burn your skin, does it? Milk baths are actually beneficial for your skin. Using neutral water is fine, but basic products will disrupt the pH balance of your skin
No it is not harmful it is very good for acne treatment...i was suffering from acne since my teenage but after trying lot of things i was fed up and very depressed because of pimples... please just try and see i swear by god it is right face wash for acne

For your kind information our face's ph ranges approximately at 5 okay and it should be anyhow less than 7 as our skin genuinely tends to be healthier in acidic ph not too acidic but mildly acidic, soap bases are basic so acidic compounds are added to them so our skin health can be regulated but here the facewash is mildly alkaline or basic which is not so good for our face's skin layer.
