I have to agree with those who said before me that she's had better performances, but still not many dancers can reach that lever either. Nonetheless, it is dancers like her who make the excruciatingly hard and demanding art such as ballet to look easy and effortless, therefore beautiful and eternal.
yeah... i don't know why i said that 6 months ago! sorry, i'm just a moody 13 year old girl lol... now i realize it's just a different approach to it. Kitri doesn't have to be insanely happy and energetic, seta has a more relaxed and mature approach :)
@@ellie5636 it is very funny because when she was very young she used grishko’s and I was CONSTANTLY worried for her shoes during her performances because you could clearly see the degradation during the act with the pointe surrendering to her awesome arch. Then like 15 years ago she switched to Gaynor and I have to admit, I prefer how her feet looks in gaynor because the arch looks higher, and now we can enjoy her performances without praying the God of point shoes to look after her
As much as I absolutely LOVE Svetlana Zakharova, I don't LOVE it when she dances as the fierce, energetic Kitri. She is amazing at Carmen, which is odd because Carmen and Kitri are much the same. But Kitri's 1st act variation is something that I don't feel Zakharova is amazing at. Nether-less, I have always admired Svetlana. And don't get me wrong, she is a beautiful dancer, and I love her. But Kitri is not one of my favorite roles for her (:

Get your face out of the screen monitor if you can't appreciate her interpretation of this variation, or any role for that matter. I'm tired or seeing people nitpicking on the slightest things for the sake of either nitpicking, or for putting their favorite dancers in the discussion.

Technical perfection; however, watching Sveta dance is like viewing a photo of a person who's mouth may be smiling, but the eyes are not. Just my opinion...prefer Lopatkina, Guillem or Osipova.
Her Italian fouetté is perfectly controlled and is beautifully corresponding to the music. Amazing.

She has amazing feet. But she changed to Gaynor Minden's which make her feet looks less arched but still beautiful.
