- Retro Puppet Master (also known as Retro Puppetmaster) is a 1999 direct-to-video horror film written by Charles Band, Benjamin Carr and David Schmoeller, and directed by David DeCoteau. It is the seventh film in the Puppet Master franchise, a prequel to 1991's Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge, and stars Greg Sestero as a young Andre Toulon, Jack Donner as an Egyptian responsible for teaching Toulon how to animate his puppets, and Stephen Blackehart, Robert Radoveanu and Vitalie Bantas as demons who pursue Toulon for his magic. While Retro Puppet Master serves to explain how Toulon began practicing the spell which animates his puppets, it ignores what was originally established in Puppet Master II as exactly how he learned the spell of animation. The film was also Guy Rolfe's final appearance as Andre Toulon, save for flashback footage in Puppet Master: The Legacy.

My God, so sensitive! We make big picture, producers love it et cetera et cetera. No Mickey Mouse stuff.
Just got to the bit in the book where Tommy opens Greg's cheque for this...
FranBMan lol, and the fact that Tommy doesn't deny it is amazing. That book is easily one of the best books I ever read. I highly suggest getting the audiobook though. Greg's impressions of Tommy W. are worth the money alone
FranBMan i just dont know why the studio that made this didnt hire greg for more movies. He could have become the leo dicaprio of b movies
I honestly thought Franco's Tommy impression was good, and then I listened to the disaster artist audiobook. Sestero is ridiculously good at it.
Me too!!
woah same!!!
If a lot of people love to see this movie, the world would be a better place to live
Lmao
The Disaster Artist is amazing. Sestero is a great writer/storyteller and does a killer Tommy impression!
Been reading about this movie in Greg Sestero's book. It doesn't look terrible, but Tommy didn't need to get jealous over it. Also, where did they dig up this voice over man?
I used to know a girl. She had a dozen guys. One of them beat her up so bad she ended up in a hospital on Guerrero Street.
heh ha heh What a story Mark
I used to know a guy. He had a dozen puppets.
SESTOSTERONE!
Oh hi puppets I didn't know it was you
Puppet raises *oh hi mark*
20+ years later, they realize they had a super star in their movie and now this movie will start to make profits.
Oh hai Toulon...
Oh shit, that's right. The Puppet Master movies were made by David DeCoteau. Meaning Greg Sestero has worked for both "The Room" guy and the "A Talking Cat?!?" guy. Nice.
I can't believe everyone's here because of either movie The Room or the book The Disaster Artist!! 😂😂. Not just cause of the movie!
I'm here for puppet master and I forgot dude was in the room
Oh hai Mark!!
Damnit! All the good _The Room_ quotes are already taken.
Oh hi Mark, I didn't know it was you!
He can actually act?!!!
Not to knock the guy (who I've even met) but how can you tell from this trailer? He had, like, one line here.
MrAspiringactor This line was on the disaster artist. His agent, Iris, said it when the puppet master staff told her that he got the role
Oh right I forgot about that. I'm kinda surprised she had the reaction though, since when has a movie like Puppet Master actually depended on good acting?
in the book they said they had gone through a ton of different people in the casting process before greg finally managed to pull it off
Dude I saw this when I was a teen I never knew Greg "Mark" Sestero was in this movie!
He seems to be the only Room actor that had some success in acting beforehand, as he also had some lines in Edtv (that Matthew McConaughey movie where he's the average joe who gets his own reality show) and episodes of Nash Bridges and Days Of our Lives. Granted, he was no A-lister beforehand but he did have some experience unlike the rest of the cast who were complete unknowns (not counting Tommy's weird commercial).
you're very welcome Denny, and if you want anything just tell me and I help you Okey. now let's go eat huh
Franco: Greg Sestero never made a movie before The Room. Retro Puppet Master: Bruh, I'm right here.
As much as I like Greg Sestero as a person, I've never been impressed with what little other acting he's done. Frankly, his performance in The Room isn't that much better or worse than his others. He's by no means terrible, just not great.
Shut the fuck up Gabe
Keep your stupid comments in your pocket!
How dare you tahlk about Greg like that!
LMAO is that mark from the room
ladistar yes, actually
I never saw the whole film, but I liked it enough to make it a favorite of mine. The puppets are neither good or evil; their actions against others are dependent upon who their master is during that time. The more good a Puppet Master is, the greater the puppets are. The more evil the master, the worse the puppets. Toulon has been both good and evil from time to time, but he cared about his friends. This made him one of the best in the line of Puppet Masters.
Oh hai, Greg.
The sound department did a great job. You can almost hear the voiceovers
I always thought it was weird that they made it look like The Room was Greg’s first film in The Disaster Artist. He was in a couple things prior to The Room. They omitted quite a few things for the sake of drama in that movie.
if it just ended up here we wouldnt have the greatest movie of all time
I think this confirms that at some point Toulon was successful in putting his essence in a new full time puppet body. He created all the films then after this one took on a new identity. Tommy Wiesau.
Keep your puppets in your pocket
"I once knew a guy who had half a dozen puppets, they ripped their victims up so bad, they ended up in a hospital on Guerrero Street"
"Ha, ha ha, what a story Toulon"
😂😂😂
This is made so much better by the fact that i know tommy loves it
I did not hit her, I did naht! Oh hai, Greg Sestero!
Oh, hi, Puppet Master
Oh hi Mark!
I should get that on DVD someday
you can't have me YOULL NEVER HAVE ME
Comment section only seems to consist of people who read "The Disaster Artist" by Greg Sestero...including me xD
I'm buying this to watch Greg's first film lol
still hoping Retro Puppet Master shows up in Avengers Infinity War
Fanfuckingtastic and is that the other guy from 'The Room'?
YES
So how's everybody's sex life?
Just read the part in the Disaster Artist where he talks about landing this role
Oh hai Mark!
Oh hai Mark.
Shot in glorious 4:3 aspect ratio.
Well I mean, the candles, the music, the puppets... What's going on here?
I like you very much, loverboy.
Hey look! it's the iris's kid!
He needs to show more emotion
1:12 He looks like James Dean
I'm sure he'd be very flattered to read this.

Oh hai puppet master!
oh hi mark
i've seen a few puppet masters but not this one
This one doesn’t feature the regular puppets, so it’s not worth watching unless you’re a Room fan.
1:26 this one looks like puppet Tommy Wiseau
I feel like you can stop at 7 for it was the last one made in the 1990s.
The real the room fans are here
O hai, Mark!
As long as the puppets turn into vampires
No pinhead? No jester? No flame? This is not puppet master....
Oh hi makr
Toulon is my best friend.
I've gotta go
Oh hai Mark!
You doing some dark vampire magic i teach you? ahaha
Oh no no.Puppet not listen to you if you not Professional!
This all mickey mouse stuff!
Les go eat, huh?
MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THE MOVIE OF (RETRO PUPPET MASTER) & MY SUGGESTION IDEA FOR IT:
First off, I genuinely liked the movie of (RETRO PUPPET MASTER) that came out in the year1999, and thought it was very good, and if I was a MovieCritic I would of given it 3 Star plus half a Star, and to add I was disappointed that it didn’t get a 2nd. chapter made for it.
“Now my suggestion idea is for reboot of the movie (RETRO PUPPET MASTER) & it’s because I feel it deserves to get created, and I suggest to give the reboot version a somewhat different title to it.”
“In addition I think with all the scientific progress in technology; It could be possible for a reboot version to surpass the previous version of it, and I imagine the title of it being (PUPPET MASTER: ORIGINS) & not only that with the theorize possibility of alternate realities, and so it isn’t out of the question to create a new storyline to introduce a different version Origin-Story of it.”
It seems to me like you're the expert, Brian.
Everyone needs to keep their stupid comments in their pockets!
You mean he can actually act?!
Oh hai puppets
La mejor de la saga de Puppet Master!
I came here because I was reading The Disaster Artist. Apparently everyone else in the comments came here for that same reason.
Reminds me of a Alice in Chains video.
Where is the giggle tent?!! I need it NOW!
This is worse than The room!
