Great video once again, I enjoy you guys showing modern fine artists and street artists as well - that’s a big “missing link” in my art knowledge. It’s fascinating to learn of a whole world of prolific people with massive scale displays and shows, and to have never known about them until now.
17:45 his art needs some context though. this is representative of what they call in south america Ayuhuasca, but the rest of the world calls DMT. and the art visualizes the geometric patterns of what you see during an enlightening dmt trip but since we cant draw in 4d he draws it in 2d. its busy like that on purpose because in a dmt trip its full of busyness
Man I found ur channel from the comment you left on Sketchy Van podcast, haven't even listened to the interview yet but I'm just going through all your videos and looking up so much stuff like a mad man, it's really interesting.
Had the privilege of seeing Android jones performative art demonstration in Mumbai. He has been a huge inspiration. I think he uses Corel Painter to do these illustrations?? I especially like the juxtaposition he creates between geometric and organic shapes.
Super late comment, how have I not seen this yet ?! Anyways great vid. On a side note, Alvin nice sun/none tan lines! Your out there riding bikes and putting in miles. Good on you!
Love the commentary, how cool some of my fav folks in one show. JJ is the MOST. Just incredible and my favorite artists alive by a wide margin. (Next is Curiot Tlalpazotl from Mexico City…another high-craft contemporary artist blending and pushing genres. Banksy is an icon and social experiment artist of course, and Android Jones was a surprise alongside these juggernauts. I adore AJ (Andrew Jones) as a human being and for his pioneering in and impact on the psychonaut and modern festival community. He is bringing universal spiritual themes to vivid visual form and is amongst the first to experiment on a large scale with live painting and live remixing. Agreed with commentary from a classical art critique perspective, don’t love all compositions or ‘digital decoupage’. I have a ‘hologram’ (lenticular print) of Aya, it’s my favorite work of his.
These days Sean Murphy doesn’t use blue line pencils. The reason behind it.. is european customers don’t like it when the blue lines are visible on the original art 😂😂
Not too sure about Alvin. Calling bansky a 90's artist when he started doing his signature style in the 2000's was odd. Also that clip of android jones at the opera house was from 2011 ten years ago, he was so ahead of his time. p.s. James Jean has had an illustrative style since all those fables covers straight out of college. I genuinely disagreed with most of his opinions
There is no such thing as a "pro artist". Getting paid to do art doesn't make you a "pro". Many artists are horrible but still get paid. Many great artists are broke. What exactly certifies an artist as a pro other than getting paid? drawing skill? color skill? There are no qualifications to be a great artist and money has nothing to do with being a great artist... it is totally subjective. It seems like a ridiculous term to make one feel better about one'e self.
Do you have any artists you would like us to react to? Let us know!
Jeremy anninos, i think that this guy is hot, And mike Azevedo. Both are awesome
Mark English!
Wootha 🙂
Thomas Chamberlain Keen please, he is awesome
Yuko Shimizu
I remember finding James Jean’s sketches on his website when I was 15. He’s the reason I’m a professional artist today.
Just found this and love it. Also the fact that you hit four of my all time favourite artists in this one video was awesome!
Thanks for the kind words Emanuel! 🙏

You guys ! This is absolutely amazing ! ❤️
You know you've made it in the art world when other artists make your art in your name, and other artists talk about their art in your name.
