This is a TAS speed run for The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy. I made 3 critical mistakes in the last 1/3 of the playthrough. The first two made me have to do some backtracking that cost me a couple minutes. The last one was when I forgot to grab a star, and had to spend quite some time looking for it while having to go back and reverse the effects of the butterfly touching me. By the time I realized my mistakes, it was too late for the rewind function of the emulator to fix it.

That ending was not worth all that lol

@@plawson8577 Come on, one of the most technologically advanced games on nes. Day and night cicle, parallax, many minigames, nice soundtrack, huge as hell map.
MIchael Jordon It’s rudimentary, cheap, monotonous, and confusing to play. This game under Fantastic Dizzy scarred me 30 years ago.
There's a glitch you can use to become invincible against spiders, ants and vertical mice but not tunnel mice and bats. All you have to do is get damaged, get a fruit and while the healing animation is playing, press menu button. Might help in a TAS
For a game that takes forever to complete, you'd think they'd give you the ability to save the game. It sucks that if you get a game over, you have to do EVERTHING all over again.
Every time I go on a long train ride, I always make sure to download this game and play it at least once, one of my favorite games of all time! I never get tired of playing it!
I was a little kid and we drew with mom ultra large map of this game on multiple pieces of paper
I'm not sure I'd call this a speedrun; I'd call it more of a quick playthrough. Too many errors, No timesplits (with this game there should be a well-defined path), no damage utilization and healing to decrease time, and too many screen-to-screen scrolls that cost you precious seconds. I'd like to see at least a sub-hour goal and reupload. That being said, still gave you the thumbs up for running it.
I'm looking at getting into speedrunning this game. Do you have a guide to point me to? Be interested in some optimization. Thanks. :-D

I wonder how many players managed to finish this game. Few NES games needed save function as much as this one.
This game is also one of the longest nes games. I was beat this with 3h but i noticed that you can shorted with carring specifing items before you need in that place. This shorted game for 1h
I rented this POS back in July of 1990. It drained 2 hours out of me of monotony,rudimentary, blandness,boredom, and absolute frustration out of 7 year old me. Dizzy is garbage, a hack Mascot for Codemasters, and a cheap, half assed platformer with bland characters. It’s no wonder Codemasters eventually folded up. They were the Acclaim of Europe. Hardcore sellouts.
I’ve only beat this once in my life. Other attempts I’ve missed a star, or after getting the last star under the grave yard a glitch happens and tells me I need 5 more stars. Infuriating!

Wow, never seen this one on NES. It makes me appreciate the Genesis version so much more! Great game!
I have finished this game when I was a kid in 3 hours. I believe You can beat it faster than this without few mistakes. However I don't understand why lava rocks in the mine don't loose Your energy or Zack's ball looks to be invicible for You too in two moments.

no wonder code masters didnt get licenses for their games, learn to actually make an proper ending for your games.
There was a lot of barely playable shit on nes and you claim that this one is worse?
@@gurozawa This one is playable but the only game i enjoyed from Code Masters was Ultimate Stuntman. Overall their games were quite bad.

The water scene after pirate made you walk the plank does not contain start? Do we need to go there after all?
It's not necessary to go to, no. It can be used as a shortcut to go from 1 part of the game to the other, but it's not mandatory. Also, you don't have to help Dylan by catching "Pogie the Fluffle" as he will give you a small cow to give to the shopkeeper, but you can also use the gold coin to get the same thing. Not sure if that was a programming error that one item was useless.
@@toptenguy1 If You buy Magic Bean before transporting Frog Dora to the prince he will accept the Small Cow (now useless for the Shopkeeper) and You can get some secret thing ;) After that You can Trade Frog for Crossbow normally.

What's so complicated about installing the NES emulator?

I never got very far in this game and it low key creeped me out
