The Garden was the last song on the last Rush album. It is a beautiful reflection of what is the most important things are in life. Love and respect. It is an observation of when you get older as to what is the most important things in life.
The measure of a life is a measure of love and respect So hard to earn, so easily burned that is powerfull lyrics... the last song of their last album after a long career of 40years playing together... perfect farewell song
It might be worth it to watch the lyric video on your own time (or some reactors do the live version and immediately follow up with the lyric version in the same reaction video) to get a full appreciation of the lyrics. 'The Garden' was the last song on Rush's final album, and, at least to me, sums up what is important in life. They hadn't necessarily intended for this to be the final Rush album when it came out, but Neil announced his retirement a few years after this, in 2015, and unfortunately, he passed away in 2020. So, in hindsight, this song is a perfect ending point to Rush's recorded output.
Brad so very Happy you reacted to Garden by Rush. What makes this live performance so special is Alex playing the keyboards. I Hope you showed this to Lex 💜🌺🌼🎹
On that tour the band was touring with a string ensemble group and they played along with the rush music and sounded like they were part of the original songs. The stings added more dimension to the music. It was a great concert to experience. But now that song makes you reflect on Neil and the time he spent with the band..so much more meaning in that song now!!

Neil unknowingly wrote his own eulogy
Yikes.
Hmm, I love this song and it means a lot to Rush fans, but seems like it was not your bag from the reaction and your vocal mimicry. It happens.
you really should try having the music video bigger than your picture - seriously, good-naturedly, of course
