My biggest ick is definitely when people sing along during musicals. I paid to hear the person on stage sing the song, not a random person sitting next to me! This happened to me when I went to see Rent once and it felt like this girl just needed to show off that she knew all the words.
This happens so often and it’s honestly just rude, to the rest of the audience and the performers 🙈 this is probably my biggest ick 😂
I had the same experience at Rent. It is beyond disrespectful when people do it.
that seems like something to do in the car on the way home, not in the theatre... that's like saying the lines alongside an actor at the cinema if you've seen the movie before.
My biggest icks are people booing the ‘villain’ during the bows- they deserve applause too😭 and people eating during the show- I don’t need to hear people chew all the way through my favourite songs😭😂
I agree, except in pantomimes. I think it’s just part of panto lore 😂😂

When I saw Waitress in Nottingham there was a lot of booing for Earl (hate the character but agree with what you said lol) and apparently it’s the same for Hans in Frozen, but there are sometimes tons of kids at there so maybe that’s why lol
I used to work at The Lion King and Scar always said that if he didn't get booed then he didn't do his job!
Recently when Anatole took his bow (Pierre, Natasha and the great comet of 1812), we had audience boo him (jokingly) and he laughed & said, yep. You got it

Literally, I make sure to put mine into theatre mode every time- I have actually now automated it so if it detects I’m in my local theatre it automatically switches on theatre mode!!!!

I went to a Jeremy Jordan/Seth Rudetsky concert and people did the scream/clap at the start of an amazing note. First time that happened, Seth called out the audience, told them to shut up and appreciate the vocals and wait to clap until the end. It didn't occur again the rest of the night. It was amazing. I was so happy to be able to hear what I paid for.

As an American who has always been used to free Playbills, I’m always baffled when I hear that Brits have to pay for them! What the hell, West End?

I just got back to the US from my first trip to the West End. I was running late to my first show and got there with like 5 mins to spare and just went straight to my seat. I make scrapbooks of my travels so at the end of the show I was trying to locate a playbill/program. I asked an usher on my way out and was directed to the merch counter. I was not willing to pay money for them and was super bummed that I didn't have a cast list or a list of the musical numbers. When I was walking out of my second show I saw a cast list posted in the lobby so I at least got that for a couple of the shows but not for all of them :(
I was so confused about Whenever I went to Broadway and they handed me a program which I didn't have to pay for. Same issue has I had nowhere to put it and ended up smudgeing the signatures and it got dog eared and haven't seen it in years. Maybe better quality Playbills would be better. But they're free.
to be fair the tickets for the shows themselves are generally a lot more expensive, u win some u lose some :pp
One of my biggest ones is audience members singing along (happens a lot at jukebox musicals and Disney). A lot of shows with popular songs will have a singalong section of the finale/bows, which is fun, but when you've paid to see a trained cast perform it and they're being drowned out by the random people next to you, just...no!
YES! i went to see white christmas last december with my drama class and the final song, white christmas, came on, and a whole group of girls who were sitting behind me started singing along and i couldnt hear the performers at all! it made me so mad bc our teacher had told them to be quiet but they didnt listen, and everyone else in the theatre was probably so upset :(
I had to leave Jersey boys because I genuinely could not hear the actors over the idiots beside me
I went to see Hamilton with a friend a few years ago. She didn't really know the music, but agreed to join me last minute because my mum was ill and I didn't want to waste the ticket.
We got to Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story, and she checks the time on Apple watch, causing it to light up. It completely took me out of the moment and it still (slightly) pisses me off all these years later
If that happened to me. She should of been the one who died and I should been the one who lives and tells the story #rude
couldn’t have waited an extra ten to fifteen minutes til you made it to the lobby? There’s something extra rude about doing it right at the end and I know you said she didn’t know the music but neither did I when I saw Hamilton and I was like yep this is definitely the end song 😭😭
My biggest ick is chair kickers. I can’t stand when the people sitting behind me keep kicking my chair and resting their feet on my chair. It is SOOO INFURIATING!!
with theater, my biggest ick is with doing them. i have no idea WHY, but when the same person gets leads 24/7 without giving ppl the chance and the person is close with the director, it just gives me SUCH a strong ick. if the person deserves it, good for them and i hope they do well. but when it’s the same person over and over again, it just icks me out. also, when ppl sing along to the music in the audience-girl bye.
Ugh I have a friend who constantly gets the lead and he's genuinely also angry about it. Like it's a running joke with us now. Poor guy just wants to play a villain, but consistently gets cast as the most cookie cutter protagonist possible.
Ughhhh yes THIS! There is one specific actress in my area who gets the lead in so many shows. She’s very talented, but there are SO many talented folks and it is just boring to see her over and over and over again. And did I mention she’ll often play THE SAME FREAKING ROLE just at different theatres? I have a vendetta against folks who do that. Give a chance to someone else, geez!
My local amdram had a rule at one point that if you'd been given the lead role in the previous production, you weren't allowed to audition for the lead in the next one, unless it went to second auditions, to prevent the same people getting cast over and over again.
I used to be with a local theatre group, and they always picked what shows to do based on whether their favourites could play the leads. They always held auditions and made the pretence of it being open to anyone, but you could always basically fully cast a show as soon as it was announced that they'd got the license.

I don't know a lot about BW vs WE comparisons but the fact that you have to pay £10 for a slightly fancy version of what we get for free is insane. Playbills are amazing and BECAUSE they're free I can do art collages with the ads and articles and stuff. They absolutely should do a free/cheap version for the WE. But no moving it all online, I hate that I need a souvenir lol
A very personal ick of mine is when people don’t understand theatre language and don’t clap at obvious points, I find it so awkward when there’s a full blackout and silence at the end of a play and no one claps, I’m not one to jump on applause, but if the play has stopped and the audience is dead silent I get anxious that everyone hated the show and are refusing to clap
My ick is just that theater etiquette has completely gone out the window. Everyone treats it like you're going to a rock concert. What happened to dressing up, waiting til the end of songs to clap, sitting quietly so all can hear, silencing phones, not getting up til the end of a number or scene change, arriving on time, staying through all of the bows, not littering, etc. It's seriously a joke and makes the theater experience so much less enjoyable. And when tickets cost as much as they do (at least in the US) I want a positive experience, not to be annoyed to death.
*This does not apply to shows aimed at kids/families. I fully understand those shows will have less etiquette, and I am thrilled that kids are getting to experience theatre.
When I saw Six yesterday in Dublin, a couple just.... forced everyone to stand up during No Way? For no reason? Like they walked down the entire row despite the fact that the row was full... There was no space for them to have been sitting. The WHOLE ROW was standing, which had a knock on effect for the people behind us too. It was bad for everyone involved.
OH but my worst one is filming. Like my friend, you're IN THE THEATRE. Watch the show with your EYES.
Went to see Les Mis when it came on tour near me. And someone thought it would be a good idea to bring their ten year old child for their first musical. Understandably, the child had no idea what was going on so I had to deal with his mother sitting next to me explaining every single thing that happened to him for the entire duration of the show
The plot of that show is complicated even for adults. I took a guy I was dating to see it and said, “Read the Wikipedia page first!” Lol
It probably goes without saying but my ick is at a mainstream pop musical like Mamma Mia where there is a group of drunk women who think they are the stars of the show. And don’t care that they are ruining it for everyone because “we paid to be here too and we’re going to have fun!!” 🙄
That is a big cultural shock as someone who lives in the US with having to buy programs in the UK. In Broadway and regional theater, the programs are free. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a show on Broadway but I know some shows will sell posters of various sizes that are the playbill covers and those are in $15 price range which makes sense but not paying $15 for the program itself.
I have like 5 or 6 of those playbill posters because they were framed gifts from my (now deceased) father. Would get the poster if he could and get it framed and hang it in my bedroom.
I'm okay with buying them if the quality is good, but they're just way too expensive. I'm fine with 5 Pounds, not 15.
I see what you mean about overtures and how they're part of the show, but personally I feel like they work as a sign to the audience to wind down the chatter before they miss any actual plot. When I've been to shows that start without overtures, it takes a good few lines for the audience to realise and shut up.
100% with you on the clapping in time to the underscore at the bows. Especially when the audience breaks into regular applause when the principals' turns come. It's like "were the ensemble not worthy of your applause then?"
My worst one is people taking in individually wrapped sweets and trying to unwrap one during a quiet moment. Invariably they do it slower to try to make less noise, but that just prolongs the distraction. Just. Wait.
Omg I hate people leg touching. The worst.
Also as someone who has binged your Glee videos more than once I think you look genuinely happier at the moment, even through the ranting, than you have in a long time and I think that's really lovely to see :)
v specific ick- i went to see the bodyguard in manchester yesterday and in the finale when melody thornton sings i will always love you. theres a really dramatic pause after she belts i will always... then some cow in the audience called out the ending really badly and it was so awful! poor melody was visibly fazed by it as well and it ruined the finale! anyway yeah im bitter

I hate it when people judge you for not seeing that many live shows and say that you're not really a theatre fan. Like I'm sorry that I'm poor and live in an area that doesn't put on musicals that often, but I can't really help it. (And that goes double for lecturers constantly commenting on your need to see more shows)

Oh my god, Amy, you’re the first person who has ever agreed with me about the rhythmic clapping at the end of a show. I HATE it every single time and make a very clear point of giving proper applause for the performers but it’s always drowned out by the (usually out of time) clapping along to the curtain call music. Thank you for vocalising my biggest theatre ick and for all of your great content!
I have an apple watch and there is a theatre mode!!!! i put it on when i go to the theatre, cinema and basically anywhere i dont want to be distracted x
I hate when people at Musicals and Operas think that just because nobody is speaking that it’s okay to talk, especially at opera but it happened to me at Hamilton on Broadway, the interludes between songs are part of the show, not just breaks between lyrics
I've heard from a friend that does ballet that the reason they do bows like that is to thank the audience for coming!
Phones in the theatre! I went to see Wicked yesterday and there were 5 peopke around me checking their phone every 5 minutes! Happened at Dear Evan Hansen last year too. Have had to move seats because it's so distracting. Also chatting between songs, i paid to hear the people speak
This one should be obvious! Albeit I can maybe understand for something like Megasix where they say "get your phones out, you're gonna wanna film this!" But ONLY IF YOU'RE EXPLICITLY GIVEN PERMISSION!
as someone who has played in multiple shows, i understand why you think the overture might not be necessary but i honestly think it’s for the pit musicians. It gives the orchestra a spotlight and some shows have little “previews” of the songs in the overture as a foreshadowing tactic. but i definitely agree that nobody should be talking when the overture starts, the show has started!!
As a theatre person who plays the violin (albeit, not that well) I LOVE overtures. Aside from giving the musicians their time to shine, I feel like it encompasses all the emotions we're about to feel. I get the same with certain film music too
With my Fitbit I put it on dark mode and move the screen to the inside of my wrist because I’m so aware of how bright it can be. I need to keep an eye on my heart rate but I am always so self conscious about it 🙈🙈
OMG Amy the overture thing! I bloody love a good overture so I thought I was alone in being so annoyed when people carry on talking through them!
The US does have optional bigger souvenir programs that you pay $20 in addition to the free playbills. However, they sometimes don’t have it printed if you go during previews. It will probably be ready once the show has been open for a few weeks. Also, if it’s a longer running show with several replacement casts, the souvenir program will only feature photos of the original cast members. They make exceptions for REALLY long running shows like Phantom or Wicked where they will add photos of more recent cast members. Also, the $20 programs don’t have adverts like the free playbills do.
A personal ick is food in the theatre !! Went to see a show and the theatre sold food like popcorn and oh my lord it was so loud!! I know realistically that it makes the theatre money but god I could barely hear what the actors were saying! It drives me insane T^T
I've worked spotlight for my community theatre many times. Let me tell you, the one thing that really riles me up is when someone walks IN FRONT OF THE SPOTLIGHT!!! Getting up out of your seat during the show is bad enough, but when you walk in front of an active spotlight it just ruins the song. There's this beautiful emotional solo happening and then all of a sudden you're taken out of the moment because some person is 1. rude enough to get up during the show and 2. ruin the lighting not just for the audience, but also the performer.
Yeah my biggest ick is probably when people clap at what they think is the end of the song but it's a long pause. Though the first time I saw an Into the Woods production I thought the end of Act 1 was the end of the whole show so I began to give a standing ovation in anticipation of the bows (to support my friend) only to realize there's a whole second act. To be fair, they really sell ya on the "they all lived happily ever after" and Into the Woods Jr. shows only do the first act but I still cringe thinking about it.

I couldn’t agree more about watches. I work as an usher and it’s hard to distinguish what is a phone and what is a watch sometimes.
As a musician who sometimes plays in local theatre orchestra pits I can’t stand the chatting during the overture and entr’acte! I want to hear the instrumentalists play!

Shucked on Broadway actually has that "preview prices" thing in effect. Apparently the main producer made sure there was money set in the budget for them to have previews priced at a much cheaper rate than after opening because they knew it was a WOM show. It also seems like something that is pretty easy to do that most producers are just too greedy to implement.
I noticed that. That was the first time in a long time I had seen preview prices that were actually cheaper than later prices. It happened with Bad Cinderella and & Juliet, too, but & Juliet prices might have stayed cheap if the show wasn’t amazing. That might be what happens to Bad Cinderella where they stay cheap. No discounts for Sweeeny Todd previews. Lol
@@laurenconrad1799 &Juliet is definitely one I didn't see having massive success on Broadway right away. It has its fans but not like SIX and it definitely doesn't have recognizable (to the tourists) stars.

I'm from Ireland and I visited Hungary as part of my theatre degree in college, and went to a few shows. I was completely FREAKED OUT when the bows started and the audience clapped exclusively in unison. Like, there wasn't any music or anything. They just clap. In unison. It's a cultural thing. Myself and my friends were really confused and kept wanting to change the tempo of the clapping but the rest of the audience would just adapt til everyone was in sync again. Strange but very interesting that something like that can be so diffirent in different countries
haha I experienced that too in Hungary, I was very confused they just all clapped to a beat that just wasn't there, and my friend (who goes to the theatre there often) said this was normal. It was odd, but interesting cultural difference XD
Definitely relate to a lot of these, especially the programmes! I like buying them to have a souvenir but I do feel ripped off most of the time. Though sorry to hear you don’t like overtures, I love them! It’s a great way to get hyped up for the show about to start!

I always put my watch onto theatre mode. That way - it won't show up when I clap during the show or show any messages, etc. during the show.
I had someone sat next to me during Sister Act in Leeds last week and their watch kept shining into my eyes every time there was applause!
A very specific but very real one for me recently was seeing Moulin Rouge and like, I get people not having a rolodex of info about musical theatre or knowing what a jukebox musical is, but I would say a full 1/3 of the theatre laughed out loud like they were at a comedy show every single time a song started and I was just like.. why is that funny?? I was so flabbergasted. It partially took me out of some more serious moments and I also was just wracking my brain trying to figure out what was so funny 😭
In Canada we just get the "souvenir programs" with the show free... didn't realize it wasn't the standard.

omg im the same about the clapping as applause but also along to the music hahahaha! Also apple watches do have a 'mute' feature. my boyfriend has one and always puts it on silent so it never gets light when he moves and yes i agree it should be on the posters the users hold up along with no filming and no phones haha
I'm a huge fan of the free cast print outs the National Theatre do.
On the subject of cast lists, it's a huge pet peeve of mine when the theatre makes it so hard to find out which covers are on that show. I'm a big fan of Moulin Rouge. They have one screen in the foyer that cycles through about 10 screens before it gets to the covers for that performance. They should shout loud and proud about their covers because they're all AMAZING!
Australia has programs it's like photos of the show & cast, cast names & maybe like a blurb of the creators behind it & promoter but it's like $30-$40. Id love if we had playbills bc I just want small pics of actors & creators & career blurbs of the people & some adverts
The thing about clapping to the music also rlly bugs me like I can't for the life of me clap out of time coz it pains me but I also don't wanna just not applaud so I end up basically like clapping triplets instead of quarter notes 😂
Bench seating was actually a very old version of seating created for really old theaters, or at least that's how it seems here in the US. Modern seating is vastly superior, but some theaters just haven't upgraded.
i went to see swan lake with a group of friends and this girl a couple rows ahead of us was actually livestreaming the ballet to her instagram. the audience in general were horrendous, people coughing everywhere at all times (a cocoughany if you will) and ushers had to come and tell people off at least every ten minutes for one thing or another
that being said, the ballet was wonderful
My theory on why ballet performers bow so much more is that ballets are more strenuous and have much fewer performances.
when i went to the west end for the first time, i was so shocked to find out we didnt get programs for free lol. i totally agree that there should be a free program with basic information and a souvenir one that you can buy with more pictures and stuff. i cant imagine going into a show with no knowledge of the cast or songs or anything.
I was honestly so excited when I went to the loo at The Old Vic and they had a programme holder on the back of the door 🙌🤣

I don't go to the theatre very often but I think you feel similarly about the overture as I do about trailers at the cinema: stop talking! Would it kill you not to talk for a couple of hours?! I also hate beat clapping always, especially at gigs. It always makes me feel like I'm at Butlins or something.

the thing you said about the way people clap at ballets is even worse for me, i live in hungary and that's how people clap for EVERYTHING here. this is why i prefer UK and US theatre culture. I hate having to clap for ten minutes for no reason.
People who show up after the show has started. I mean I know in the more professional theaters they won't let them in but I was a house manager at my college's theater and the amount of people who showed up 5 minutes after the show has started, like is it that hard to get here on time!?

Broadway tshirts often don’t come in plus sizes, but I recently saw A Strange Loop and they had a shirt that said “Big Black Queer Ass American Broadway.” And I said, please tell me you sell that shirt in big ass sizes. Fortunately they did. If they didn’t, that would be a travesty. 😆

i went to see a production of white christmas back in december with my drama class, and when the song "white christmas" (yk the one) came on, a group of girls sitting behind me all started singing obnoxiously loud, completely drowning out the actors. it was a relatively small theatre aswell, so im sure everyone was able to hear them.

so i got invited to the dress rehearsal of a professional show. i work at the bar and they just needed a semi audience that wasn't producers. in the end it was me and some other guy. so not very many ppl there.
ANYWAYS MY POINT- dumb me forgot to switch her apple watch to theatre mode and i can't remember exactly how it happened but i accidentally set of a find my iphone alert. the shame and embarrassment that filled me as it dinged a quite a serious moment in the show is a feeling that will never leave me, even a year and a half later.
I totally wish playbills were a thing in the U.K.. I’m easily distracted too had an awful pantomime experience a couple of years ago everyone round us was talking and moving through the entire thing I spent more time getting stressed about the distraction than watching 😂

Just saw the Wiz in sf this past weekend and it was amazing!! But it happened in both the first act and after intermission that multiple people's phones went off. Like one phone going off, yeah it's an ick, silence the damn thing, move on. But that should be everyone's sign to make sure their's is off too. All the following ones have no excuse
Recently, posters on Broadway have become really popular to buy at shows. But dang they are bulky and awkward to keep near your seat. You can’t fit it into any sort of handbag and it barely fits by your legs. Lol
Ooh I’m with you on programs! In Australia they’re high quality and probably a combo of the two UK types you described. I don’t mind paying for them, but they used to be between $20-30 AUD. But in the last few years that’s increased and I think I have to pay $50 (that’s approx £27!!) minimum at any given show 😫😫

However about the programmes I have to disagree, most programmes nowadays are essentially like souvenir programmes with production and/or rehearsal photos and often content about the show and really not many ads (and I do read all my programmes from cover to cover hahaha) - the ones that only have headshots and basic info are usually much less expensive, like at the Old Vic the programmes are still only £4 and they even have a few rehearsal photos still!
My actual ick is people singing along. Happened at Saturday Night Fever. The people were removed.

My biggest ick is totally people bringing their young kids to plays! I was in an original production about a month ago and on opening night somebody brought their toddler who started screaming so loudly you could barely hear some of the scenes even with microphones

Something I hate is when something funny or really incredible happens on stage, and the audience laughs and applauds but they don't stop. It'll be 2/3rds of the way through a scene and the audience has brought it to a standstill. Like, stop it, let the actors finish their moment

My biggest ick are casual theatre goers who start to leave during the bows. Not sure if it happens elsewhere, but in Dallas it annoys the fool out of me. Please give proper respect to the performers. Your car isn't going anywhere.
generally I agree, but I do understand when a show runs longer than expected and you maybe have to catch a train or something like that. I saw a show the other day and a friend was going to pick me up from the theatre. I asked FOH during intermission how long the show would go, but it ended up running a good 20 minutes longer than they said so I did leave the bows a little bit early because I felt really bad about my friend waiting in the cold all this time.
Very late to this video but I just had to say - there IS a Theatre Mode for Apple Watches !!! Like it is literally called “Theatre Mode” and has the classic double mask icon! (And it has existed since 2017…)
It keeps the screen dark unless you press the button and gives notifications only with a small haptic buzz on the wrist that is totally inaudible.
Mine is a weird one. The theatre I go to, the toilet is downstairs - a lot of stairs. It feels like you’re missing loads of the show when you really need to pee 😂
Some tote bags can be cheap I saw the uk tour of beauty and the beast on the second last show and it was like 2 programs and a tote bag for 14
One of my icks is when they either mistranslate a joke or they erase something so that the line in the translation doesn’t land/doesn’t make sense when they’re translating musical to/from English 😬 like find a different way to get the sentiment across?????
I am absolutely one to do the clap clap clap CLAPCLAPCLAPCLAP clap clap clap clap bevayse they def deserve real applause. I hate clapping on beat. It never sounds good and it hurts my hands.
Very topical - we all heard today about what happened in Manchester during a performance of The Bodyguard. All because of people not knowing how to behave in a theatre!
I saw Chicago on Broadway awhile back and a person in our row was singing along, LOUDLY AND WILDLY OFF KEY, the entire time. We kept giving sidelong looks and angry glances but to no avail, and I was too conflict-averse to actually say something to the person.
Ushers. They handle this.

My biggest ick is when there are dogs or animals in a show when it never needs it 😭 and then when they do the bows and the audience applauds for the dog more than people in the ensemble 😭😭 i was so happy to find out they didn't have Einstein in the Back To The Future musical, BUT I also think having people dress up as the token animal like in the Courtney Bowman Legally Blonde is SO MUCH WORSE!! (Like it was so creepy and weird 😫) My preferred is either cut out the dogs like Back To The Future or puppets like they have done in some productions of Wizard of Oz with Toto.
I just feel like an audience goes crazy for a dog that runs across a stage for two seconds more than an ensemble that have done multiple costume changes, characters, dance routines etc.
Yes agreed. Animals, and id like to add babies, pull focus and it feels like im being manipulated for cute points. 101 dalmatians muaical at regents park last year brought out a real dalmatian right at the end, audible gasps and cute sounds from everyone. just felt sorry for it because it was so loud. Plus I didn't even enjoy it the show. I saw a good legally blond work around at a student production at mountview drama school where they effectively used an adapted mop, it really worked.
Babies wise, when i saw the recent book of dust play (or another play at the bridge if im mistaken) i was just concerned for the baby when it got left making in a crate on stage for a little too long!

Those are all most of my icks. I remember the first time I had to put up with someones cell phone being shined in my eyes. This was 2008 and cell phones didn't light up before that because of flip phones and it shocked me that they would keep opening it up and then kept talking to each other and this was a play being preformed at my college and at intermission, I just moved a seat down to not be blinded and I think they were surprised I was doing that even though they didn't care about anyone around them, but yet it was rude for someone to move away from them. 🙄

Apple Watches do have a theatre setting! I always make sure to put it on whenever I go to the theatre, just like I’d put my phone on silent 😂
I think the clapping too early problem could be solved by bringing back those neon applause signs.
I think American audiences are much more enthusiastic with their applause than British audiences. If Americans audiences loved a show, the actors will be able to tell. None of this “polite clapping to the beat” thing. Or if American audiences did do that, they probably didn’t enjoy the show. Lol
I believe apple watches do have theater mode. My dad always sets his on this when we go to shows~
Honestly the seat sizes! My partner is six feet tall (very long legs) and I have wide hips, and I don't think we've ever had a theater experience where we've both been comfortable. At the very least I wish seat dimensions were posted online so we could know what theaters to avoid.
Also, the bathroom situation is horrible ... I understand that theaters are old, but at this point I'd settle for portaloos outside the theater if it gives me a chance to pee!
I wish there was more of a "hold your applause" rule too!

But, but, the overture builds excitement and anticipation for the show. I get it though - people should shut up while it's playing.
My theatre icks are people going to the toilet five minutes before the interval and crawling over me, blocking my view of the song.
Another is the Gods, rules don't apply to you up there. As soon as the iconic ballroom scene in beauty and the beast came on, everyone had their phones out filming and two mums behind me chatting away the entire show. had to tell them to be quiet.
Lastly people who bring food to the theatre, especially loud food like crisps. Opening the bag and rattling around it. Drives me up the wall.

I put my watch on power saver and it dims completely. As for Broadway merch, some is really good, some really cheap. I bought this metal cup at Hadestown for 25, and it is so thin, had to be super cheap.
And my big Ick in the U.S. is shows always starting ten minutes late because no one is ever on time. I went to London and the 7:30 show began at 7:30. I almost fainted. At Broadway, it's 8:07 for an 8:00 show and 92 people are still wandering in.

I had a guy cough next to me through all of act 1 and no he was not wearing a mask. Talk about ickkkkkk. Luckily it was a local dinner theatre where there was more space and I had a mask 😷
