Hello Lisa, from Swansea, Illinois.❤❤❤❤❤ I knit my socks on nine inch circular needles in tandem, I knit both cuffs first the I start the legs. I knit until I finish one leg the knit the other one, then the heel flaps and gusset before I start the decreases and foot.
Love the Freckled Whimsy winter one! I got it too but won’t be able to knit up until I finish a few other pairs of socks and hats. Lenore what a blessing for Lisa! ❤
Sarah Schira is such a good designer and your gnomes are darling!!! I took a class from her once and learned so, so much. I made 25 of them once for christmas gifts for my students.
Your gnomes are adorable ❤. As I'm watching I've finished up the current clue of a mystery gnome by Imagined Landscapes, Gnana Gnome. And I've put in a few rows of socks with this year's WYS Christmas sock yarn, Yuletide. I wasn't too excited by the yarn...but I'm liking it now that I'm seeing how it knits up 😊
eeekkk!! i love how ROTUND your gnomes are!! 🥰("Rotund" is my current favorite word, and I have been obnoxiously using it every chance I get.) My knitting mojo has been kind low but those scrappy striped socks of yours...!! 😱 I want to cast that on immediately. Also - in case anyone is wondering: I can confirm that Lisa did indeed message me first thing on Sunday morning asking to see my Opal socks. 😂🤣
After Christmas, I would love to see your amazingly cute gnomes over your left shoulder up by your chicken! I, also, have been wanting to buy the gnome book. Maybe I will get it for Christmas.🤞🤞 Thanks for another fantastic podcast❤
There is a shawl pattern that uses the slub yarn. “Painted Pebbles” by the Forest City Knits girls. Super cute and uses that skein and a coordinated fingering.
Your Gnomes are cute. When knitting tandem socks, I knit one cuff, then the other, 1/2 the leg on each,, or a self determined pattern repeat, then heel flap and turn on each, etc. it helps me in that hopefully my tension is more even than knitting one whole sock and then the other. I weave in the ends on the first sock once I finish the toe.
Such cute gnomes! I knit my socks tandem as well. I do a cuff and then the other, I knit the entire leg b4 i do the second leg, etc. I don't like putting them down so frequently either. Happy knitting!
❤❤thanks lisa,,, Good monday morning 🎉🎉 Loved ur podcast,, What a gift from a viewer!!wow,,,,very nice,,,, and more to come dec,,,22😮 Great socks 🧦 Snd sweet gnomes,,,,havent made one,,,, I have seen mitts,,,hats and shawl with that fun yarn,,,, I knit in a skinny advent scarf i started,,, and its fun,,,,trying to keep up ,,,, So got alot done,,, Its raining here no ,,qnd have a freezing rain warning,,,,,over all the snow,,,,i can see the ice now to the deck,,, Not going out today,,,, Have a great week,,, Elaine 😍🏡
For knitting socks in tandem after both of the cuffs are done, I personally like to do leg on one leg another then heel flap on one heel flap on the other then heel turn/decreases on one gusset then heel turn/ gusset decreases on the other then foot on one foot on the other. Then toe one one toe on the other, I think you get it. 🤪I still use a set of lightbulb stitch markers on each one for counting. I’m so used to it and it just is easier for me to keep track. 😅Your gnomes are so adorable!💛
When I do tandem socks, I usually just do both cuffs first because I don't like doing the cuffs either lol. So I'll do both cuffs then the leg and heel on one and then the same on the other.
I have green eyes, so I feel your pain. Green and Blue eyes are the same and most sensitive to light because we have less pigment than darker eyes, which is what protects them from the light and uv rays! 😅 lucky us!
An entire hour this morning L. That was great. You showed so many yarn skeins. Very delightful indeed. I signed up for the freckled whimsy yarn of the month club the other day for the very first time starting with the January delivery but I dropped the Halloween one. And yes, I think there are 4 more left ending in April. Can you tell me in grams what is the weight of one square fingering weight yarn held double please. I might start a blanket in the spring. Pat, Pat. Take care Lisa. You might already know but Amie is sending out Christmas cards for those who sign up with her. 😮
Yep. I weigh the item and add that to my grams out. For the blankets I weigh the yarn and when I finish the skeins I then add them to grams out. For my cozy memories blankets, I weigh the first square to find out how my grams it is. Hope this helps!
I love imagined landscapes and the gnomes by Sarah! ❤❤ love the moodiness of the last HP club
Love your gnomes. Can't wait to see what you do with your beautiful advent skeins. You can never go wrong with scrappy socks.
Oh so cute gnomes! The chubby one! I definitely fell over. 😂 ❤

Your gnomes are adorable! They are really addictive! Love the book 🍄
Tandem is my preferred sock knitting method. I do sections, cuff then cuff, leg then leg. You get the idea

As usual, I love, love, love your stripey socks! And now gnomes!!! Love those too!
I do each step tandem and 4-6 pairs at a time on ChiaoGoo 9 inch circulars. This keeps my interest and I always have a to go project.

I’m working on the Mystery Gnome Along from Imagined Landscapes this season. They’re fun!
Omg, I love your gnome!! It is so cute!!
Use the slub yarn for the mohair dares in shawls 😮
I usually knit a cuff then knit a cuff then ten rows on one leg than the other😊
AP Bio was filmed at my HS 😂 RA Millikan in Long Beach, CA ❤
15 rows on a worsted weight 64 stitch christmas stocking. thanks for the video (I also ate breakfast lol)
That’s awesome! 😆

@@kendenta2207 Thanks! My DK weight cozy memories squares are 8 grams. Fingering weight cozy memories squares are 3 grams. 💚
Fabulous L. I just thought that I could have worked up a square myself and figured it out. But I trust your thoughts and that makes me comfortable. 😂
Next year I want to do an advent. What would you suggest
I love to Opal Advent from Purple Circle yarn co. I’m also enjoying Blackbird Sycamore.
@ thank you 😊
Question: Do you weigh your yarn knit to determine grams out? Does a project have to be finished to be considered grams out?
Yep. I weigh the item and add that to my grams out. For the blankets I weigh the yarn and when I finish the skeins I then add them to grams out. For my cozy memories blankets, I weigh the first square to find out how my grams it is. Hope this helps!
@ thank you so much, I’m going to try beginning next year.
