Hard to say who´s actually the wild one here :D I knew zebras are quite fighters, but I´m suprised how the gelding managed to equalize the height by "kneeling" - this is a move you don´t see often.

There are three species of zebra. This one is a Plains zebra, and yes they're pony size. The largest is Grevy's zebra, and they're the largest of the wild equines, being about the size of a horse. Horses, mind you, have increased in size during the centuries because of selective breeding.
This is a particularly tall horse but zebras are also much smaller than we expect. Grévy's is about 20% bigger than the Plains zebra, not nearly as big as this horse 😉
Vcat 82 we border on a nature reserve. One spring this young zebra got kicked out of his herd (all the young males get chased out by the stallion). He want through some bushes and discovered my horses grazing in a herd... and he never left!

@@johnwick293 I never said instantly either; domestication happens as a species. There are plenty of videos explaining the domestication of zebras and why it's highly unlikely.
Well, while all extant equids are of the Equus genus, wild and tame horses fall under the Equus ferus species. E. f. caballus are the domestic horses. Zebras don't fall under the ferus species; they are genetically distinct from horses with three different species: plains (E. quagga), mountain (E. zebra), and Grévy's zebrs (E. grevyi).* Horses, however, can hybridize with zebras to create zorses/hebras, which aren't unlike mules in that they are generally sterile. It's also worth mentioning that zebras are closer relatives of donkeys than horses. *As far as different species in the same genus is concerned, horses are to zebras as lions are to tigers.
I wonder if people in Africa say:"I have a truck with 500 zebras under the hood"....Zebra looks so small compared to the horse, looks even smaller than an ass.

The zebra is a female cause males only have white and black on them but that zebra has brown white and black and male zebras body’s are thin while female zebra body’s are large to hold baby’s
We don't keep him. My property borders on a wildlife reserve. The zebra got kicked out of his herd as a young male and bonded with my horses. He has just never left.
I thought the zebra was pestering the horse but one of the commenters said they play often and even know each others' call. Prolly an owner or something
I never realized how small zebras actually are!
me too O:
Zebras are usually bigger than this, this zebra is only 2 years old , it takes 3-6 years for a zebra to fully mature
No this is a young zebra, a full grown zebra is very big and tall. Capable of breaking a lion's jaw with a single kick.
I don't think it was full size yet.

Zebras are wild horses. So, they can most likely relate and communicate with regular or pet horses. I think that donkeys relate to both species too.

Horses and zebras talk *only* by body language, so them having different verbal sounds don't matter.
